Can't print large graphic pages
In my documents that have high resolution graphics, the page won't print. Intermittently I can get it to print, but not usually. This is my process: I paste the clipart or photo into a paint doc after setting the document resolution at 300dpi. I then copy it and paste it into word processing (this is the method I found out on the discussion forum so the graphics don't look pixelated). But if I have 4 or more of these on one page, it won't print.
I found Peggy's suggestion and dumped my Appleworks preference files, and it worked for 3 pages. Now it doesn't work anymore. Help?
G5 Mac OS X (10.3.9)
Welcome to Apple Discussions Eagle saint
I think the problem is that the graphic is just too big, memory-wise. What is the original source of the images? Are you trying high resolution to improve the print quality? I have a couple of suggestions that might help.
Open the images in Preview or the wonderful shareware program GraphicConverter & Save As... PICT (use Export in Preview in OS X 10.2 or 10.3). Insert or drag & drop the PICT images in an AppleWorks draw document. You'll have a lot more control over placement in draw. AppleWorks will change the resolution of any graphic except PICT to 72 dpi. PICT will retain the original resolution. Using the paint module leads to "pixelated" images.
Turn on Fractional Character Widths on in Preferences > General > Topic: Text. Even though this is a text setting, it does help print quality.

How can i print just one page of photo book without printing the entire book
how can i print just one page of photo book without printing the entire book
Jim,
Take heart. We can help.
First turn on page view so you can see how the content of your sheet fits on the page(s). A Numbers document contains sheets (listed on the left) which in turn contain tables, charts, text, and graphics. Select the sheet you want to print on the left, then enable page view by selecting the menu item:
"View > Show Print View":
Now you should see your content and how it fits on one, or more, pages. If thie content is too big for one page use the controls and the bottom left of the window to expose the sheet controls:
Here a table is too big to fit on one page:
slide the "Content Scale" slider so the content fits: -
So I cant seem to print just the 1st of 5 pages. The default setting , 1 of 5, will print all 5 pages. The 2nd field can not be altered, as it could in previous FF versions, to 1 of 1. Therefore, I can only print all 5 pages, 2 through 5, 3 through 5, etc. WTF - I keep wasting print paper. I got the print edit add-on but that doesn't seem to help. I have been through several FF versions and do not like the format of 29.
Actually, with the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/print-edit/ Print Edit addon], if I click the down arrow I get the old print format options and can do it.

How can I print a web page to a hard copy with Adobe? When I print this particular page in the usual way it prints only the text of that page, not the photo that's also part of that page.
I have Adobe SendNow, but I can buy another Adobe product if it will solve my web page printing problem.

How can I print a Safari page without the links being printed and covering other text?
Try printing the page as PDF.
From your Safari menu bar click File > Print > Save As PDF then print the PDF file.
If you don't want to do it that way, reset the print system.

Since the last 3 upgrades (thru Firefox 7.0) I can't print a web page. This is true using 2 different printers. I have an iMac 10.6.8.
Just read that the default memory storage on FF is set to 5 mbs. You can up that by clicking on tools, advanced and overriding the default and set it to 50 mbs (if you use lots of tabs) or 10 mbs (if you use just a few).
I open a blank tab and clear the cache periodically, while I am working. I can have several tabs open and watch videos on Youtube, by doing this. Have you cleared your cache?
Since I have an older computer, I've also used CCleaner for years. I use it often, but always before signing off. You can get it free...search for CCleaner, download from Pirifoam free. I didn't change any of the settings and it clears crap left behind from uninstalling programs, clears all browsers at once of: cookies, history, passwords, etc. I love it!
I had freezing, before using the "open blank tab, clear the cache" thing. Now I have no problems. Plus, as I said...you can change the default memory usage for FF and that should help too.
Hope this helps! Good luck! :) -
I can only print the current page of downloaded pdf's. Not able to print "all". I'm using a Macbook air.
it says "the document could not be printed". "There were no ages selected to print".
I selected "all". I always tried selecting pages "1-3".
The only choice that works is current page. Very strange. -
I want to print an email which has multi pages but I can only print the first page
Can anyone help please?
i want to print an email which has multi pages but I can only print the first page
TonyFirefox cuts off the URL in your printout, if it's really long, and you also have on the same line (header or footer), the Date and Pages
What I have summarized below is based on this page . . . http://www.watchingthenet.com/how-to-change-or-customize-firefox-printing-defaults.html
I have two questions:
To fix, do a custom setting, for the Header and Footer as follows:
Print / Page Setup / Margins & Header/Footer / "Customize" the "Left" as follows (leave Center and Right all blank)
&T
&U . . . . . . . &D . . . . . . . &PT
&D shows the Short date as: M/d/yyyy - and then the time
To change the format of the Short date in Win 8.1, go to:
Control Panel / Date and Time / Date and Time tab / Change date and time / Change calendar settings /
Date / Short date . . . change from M/d/yyyy . . . to . . . MM/dd/yy
QUESTIONS:
1.) How do you get rid of the time, which appears after the date? In IE, you use a lowercase "d" - but that doesn't work here.
2.) Is there a way to change the font just for the Header and Footer, to something like Microsoft Sans Serif 10?
Firefox leaves no room around the text in the Header and Footer at the edge. To fix:
Address Bar / about:config
Enter keyword "edge"
Then change all four values for the printer you're using to:
print.printer_Foxit_PhantomPDF_Printer.print_edge_bottom . . . 5
print.printer_Foxit_PhantomPDF_Printer.print_edge_left . . . 10
print.printer_Foxit_PhantomPDF_Printer.print_edge_right . . . 10
print.printer_Foxit_PhantomPDF_Printer.print_edge_top . . . 5 -
Using "Pages" as my word processor I can not print a Standard page. Trying to print several copies of a single page gives me every thing parented back to back. What do I do to fix this? (Using iMac OS 10.9.1 and Canon iP4200 printer)
You have Duplexing turned on. Turn it off.
This is to do with your Printer Driver and has nothing to do with Pages.

Download make booklet script from this link. You will see download for CS3 along the left side. You don't mention which version of CS you have but this should work. You can do a search for make booklet script CS4 in google if you need that one.
Place the script in your Applications>InDesign>scripts folder. Start ID, open you file, go to window>scripts>make booklet. Double click and the script will automatically create book spreads. No crops, reg or page info though. There are several cheap apps you can buy that will make books with crops, reg marks and page into for you. You'll need to search forum or google. -
I have an iMac less than 1 year old with lion o/s and numbers. i have been spoiled in the printing of spread sheets on PC's. I find it impossible to print only 1 page when printing a single page spread sheet. The result is my spread sheet spread over several sheets of paper with no usable spread sheet printed. Can anyone help this 86 year old man who has been to the Apple Store twice to learn this but I still have trouble. Thanks in advance for your help. jim
