Can't print to HP Laserjet 8100

I can't print a PDF file using Acrobat Professional 8.1.2 to an HP Laserjet 8100. The printer dialog shows the job and lights blink on the printer, but nothing is printed. I can print the same PDF file on the HP 8100 using Apple Preview. I can print the same file using Acrobat 8.1.2 on the HP Color Laserjet 5550 sitting next to the HP 8100. I just can't print to the HP Laserjet 8100 using Acrobat 8.1.2. I can also print to the HP 8100 using Acrobat 8.1.2 if I check the box "Print as image", but it is very slow in that mode. Does anyone know the answer to this one?
I have re-installed the HP printer drivers from HP. I have deleted and reinstalled the printers. All Apple and Adobe updates are current. I am using a Mac Pro with Mac OS 10.5.4.

I ran into the same issue today, the resolution was to change the TrueType Font Download Option to "Native TrueType" (it was set to automatic by default). This resolved the issue for me (using an HP Universal Print Driver v4.7).
Printing Preferences -> Advanced Settings -> PostScript Options -> TrueType Font Download Option -> Native TrueType

Can not print with HP LaserJet 6L since the upgrade to Mavericks. Any alternative driver for this printer?

I have an HP LaserJet 5P and had the same problem. My LaserJet is connected to a D-Link ethernet print server, then to an Airport Express to support wireless printing.
As recommended in earlier posts, I first downloaded the Gutenprint HP drivers at Sourceforge, version 5.2.9 That did not work. Then found the reference to the Apple kb here: http://support.apple.com/kb/dl907
Downloaded these drivers. When setting up the printer, I got the autoselect option for Generic Postscript Printer and used that. Printer worked, but printed out garbage. I then deleted the printer, and this time selected the HP LaserJet 5P CUPS + Gutenprint v.5.2.9 THAT WORKED! I don't know if was the combination of downloading the drivers from Sourceforge and the Apple kb, or just the Apple kb that solved the problem, but I'm glad this is now sorted.
I was a bit surprised when I hit this snag to begin with because the last upgrade I did from Lion to Mountain Lion, I did not have this issue. It was seamless.

  • Can not Print with HP LaserJet 5000 and Epson AcuLaser C9100

I am using MacBook Pro 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 with Mac OS X (10.6.6)
I already install the latest print driver from the Apple Software Update website.
The driver for HP is Ver. 17.5 & for Epson is Ver. 5.2
I connect two of the printer to my Belkin Surf N300 wireless N Router with ethernet cable.
The error when print to HP LaserJet 5000 is as follow:-
Unable to get printer status (Not Implemented)!
Network host 'x.x.x.x' is busy; will retry in 30 seconds...
This error can stay forever if I do not delete the print job
The error when print to Epson AcuLaser C9100 is as follow:-
    Printer not responding
This error can stay forever if I do not delete the print job
Previously I can print with my emac with OS X 10.4.10, but now I can not print with 2 of my printer.
My 2 printer are in good condition, so this is not the printer problem.
Please, do anyone know how to fix this problem fast, because I need to use this two printer for my business.
    Thanks in advance.

That is not what Greg needs to know. That is just the way that the IP addresses are assigned to the printers.
Your problem is probably that the printers were probably originally found by AppleTalk. AppleTalk is not included in Snow Leopard. If the printers support Bonjour, they should be found that way. Otherwise, you have to use other methods.
How did you add your printers on the new computer? If you delete them from Print & Fax, how would you add them again?

  • Can't print to HP LaserJet Prof. P1102w_1 wireless printer with my iPad.

I cannot print to HP LaserJet Prof. P1102w_1 wireless printer with my iPad although it appears that this is a compatible printer.  My computer prints to this printer.  All other components of my wireless options and router are working.

    Hi,
Did you updated the printer firmware?
The P1102w only support AirPrint with the latest firmware, not with the version shipped with the device.

  • Can't print HP Color LaserJet 5550dn

I've just upgraded to CS3 form individual CS2 applications and now I can't print to my printer. I go to File>Print and my printer shows up in the printer list. I choose it, hit print and it looks like it's processing for a few seconds, the data light on the printer blinks for a few seconds and then everything just stops. I can print to another postscript printer perfectly fine, and also to the pdf 9 printer. I appreciate any help. Thanks.

  • MacBook Pro can't print to HP LaserJet 2100tn

    Hello,
I have an ethernet-connected HP LaserJet 2100tn in my office. I can print to it from my G4 laptop, but not from my new MBP.
    Some background/info:
-The HP has its IP set correctly and it is on the same network as my Mac. I can print to it from my other Windows and G4 macs.
-The ethernet connections are all working fine
-I downloaded and installed the latest drivers from HP (5.5.2.051). Twice.
-Restarted my Mac and the HP many times.
-I can open the printer's config (web browser) and ping it from my MBP.
    -MacOS is updated.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Rich

Not sure if this is relevant, but I had print driver problems after using Migration Assistant. To fix it, I reinstalled the print drivers from the DVD, then re-installed the HPIJS / Foomatic drivers (i'm using an older HP D145, but they should work on your 2100)

  • Can't print to HP LaserJet 2300dn after 10.8.2 upgrade

I've downloaded the latest driver from Apple - no joy. Is my printer now obsolete?

I had printers attached via USB to a PowerBook running 10.4.x and was able to print from a MacBook running 10.5.2. Today I upgraded the PowerBook to 10.5.2 and I can no longer print from the MacBook. Sigh. And Macs are supposed to be easy... I've been a Mac user since the 80s and I'm thinking these past few years Apple's quality control has gone down the toilet.

  • Can't print from HP LaserJet 8150n since upgrade to 10.5.6

Any advice would be appreciated. I have mistakenly used the "reset printer list" command (control-clicking in the Print & Fax prefs list) to wipe out all of my installed printers, and now I'm not seeing ANY of my drivers for my Epson Stylus Photo R2400 or my Dymo Labelwriter Twin Turbo, either. A bit frustrating.

You may need HP driver update 2.7.

  • Print to a Laserjet 4050 networked on an XP machine from my iPad

How can I print to a Laserjet 4050 networked on an XP machine from my  iPad?  Can I use the AIO app?  does not find the printer.  Thanks.

    @Mojo-Risin
If I understand your question, you would like to use the AiO remote app on your iPad with your Laserjet 4050, correct? If this is case, unfortunately, the AiO remote app is not supported with the Laserjet 4050 and the iPad.

  • Hp laserjet m1132 mfp can't print from remote desktop

Hi, i've installed HP LASERJET M1132 MFP in my PC with windows 7 ultimate 32 bit and it works fine. But when i connect using remote dekstop with  our Windows server 2008 r2 64 bit. its not printing. error "test page failed to print , would you like to view the print troubleshooter for assistance?" and it doesnt solved the problem.
    please help

    Thank you for your interest.
The situation is a bit different than the picture. Windows Server 2008 R2 is available through the WAN. LAN is plugged into the PC-1, PC-2 and Konica Minolta printer. HP LaserJet M1120n MFP is connected via USB to the PC-1. OKI ML 3320 printer is connected via LPT also to the PC-1. PC-1 has access to Konica Minolta printer via the LAN. PC-2 also has access to Konica Minolta printer via the LAN. PC-2 is also available for PC-1 HP and OKI.
It seems to me that I found the explanation for the printing problems - some of "my" printers are simply not compatible with Windows Server 2008 R2. I found on the net the following information:

  • Can't print to a HP LaserJet 5000 we've used for years

We're a design studio with 4 Mac's and have had this HP LaserJet 5000 printer for a longtime and love it. A real work horse and low maintenance. Two of our cpu's are running Mavericks, 2 are running 10.7.5 and the older one is still running 10.5.8. This older 10.5.8 cpu has always worked flawlessly with this printer. IT'S ALWAYS CONNECTED to the printer. But after recent OSX upgrades my 10.7.5. CPU, my Mavericks iMac and recently purchased Mavericks MacPro cannot print to this printer UNLESS I have the older 10.5.8 cpu awake and running. If I shut this older cpu down or put it to sleep, all the other computers can't print to this printer. This older mac is going to be retired soon so I have to find a way that the remaining 4 CPU''s can connect to the Airport Extreme (which they do now) but can also see the printer and I can actually print from it. I've downloaded the latest HP driver software here at apple that was suppose to fix this but nothing. It seems like this older CPU is acting like a server and all requests have to go through it. How I stop this so that each independent CPU can print through the wireless Air Port Extreme.
As a test, I even took a 10' Cat 5 Ethernet cable and plugged it into one of CPU ports and then directly into the back of Printer, bypassing the whole wireless approach, went to Pref's and activated Ethernet 2. CPU still can't print to it. This printer on has Ethernet. Over the years we just set up our AirPort Extreme, plug a cat 5 cable from there to a 5 way ethernet splitter and from there 1 cat 5 goes to the printer. So as I have said everything works great IF I have the older CPU up and running but what I'm I going to do with I retire that unit.
Need some help here please. I been working with Mac's since 1988 and consider myself a power user but this one has really got me.
    Suggestions…?

  • Can't print from OfficeJet to LaserJet

I own an OfficeJet Pro L7580 and a LaserJet 4000. I want to scan from the OfficeJet and print to the LaserJet (which is faster and more economical). When I choose "Scan to Printer" on the OfficeJet, it shows the LaserJet as an available option to print to, but when I click on the print button, I get the following error message: "Images selected for printing could not be automatically printed due to an application error. You may need to reinstall your HP Photosmart Software". Can anybody help me with this?

Need more info.  What is it doing, or not doing?
What specific printer are you using?  Here is the list of airprint printers.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
Forget the ipad for a moment.  Does the printer see the wifi network?  From the printers control console, look for the utility to find and install any firmware update that has been issued for that printer.  Most airprint printers need the firmware update before they will work.
    The try the pad again.

  • HP Laserjet 1020 connected to Airport Express - Can't Print from Windows XP

    Hi,
I have been using Airport Express for almost a year now, and it works fine with my old LaserJet 1200 connected to it, meaning that BOTH my ThinkPad(WinXP) and PowerBook(OSX 10.3) prints off the printer nicely. Last week I bought a LaserJet 1020 to replace the old printer. Now I can only print off my Mac, and not the ThinkPad.
    Here are some additional information:
    - Airport Express has been updated with latest updates.
    - Using newest printer driver available from the HP website.
    - New printer works when connected to ThinkPad via USB.
    - New printer works when connected to Airport Express and printing performed using my PowerBook.
Therefore, My conclusion is that Airport Express and Printer is working just fine, and that it's just my ThinkPad not being configured correctly. (Although at the back of my head I am guessing that just MAYBE it's the Airport Express not accepting a different printer)
This is what I did to install the printer from my ThinkPad to work with Airport Express (which is not working):
    1. Add a printer
    2. Local printer attached to computer (no auto detect)
    3. Selected existing TCP/IP port 10.0.1.1
    4. Selected my new printer driver
    5. Finish
I also tried a few things like:
    - Deleting the TCP/IP port and creating it again before installing the new printer again.
    - Off both airport express and printer and on again after about 10sec.Airport was on first, and after the LED turn green, printer was turned on and USB plugged into airport.
    - Restarting my ThinkPad.
I have tried everything that I can think of, and nothing worked... hence this posting to get professional help.

    Hi,
You might want to download and install bonjour for windows to your Thinkpad it is how I got my roomates XP laptop to print on AX.
