Today he came and downloaded the printer from HP.com, BUT IT WILL NOT PRINT WIRELESS???????? I HAVE MISPLACED MY PRINTER DISK, IF I ORDER A NEW ONE AND INSTALL VIA DISK WILL THIS SOLVE MY PROBLEM. HE CHARGED ME $35 TO DOWNLOAD THE PRINTER SOFTWARE TO MY LAPTOP AND IT WAS WORKING FINE BEFORE HE WORKED ON IT. THE PRINTER WAS PRINTING WIRELESS WITH NO PROBLEMS. HELP!!

Popcorn66,
Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
I am sorry you were charged money to install the Full Feature Software.
You can do this yourself -- you can install the latest printer software from the printer's Support Website.  The software is free.  There are even videos on the Support page you can watch ahead of time to help you understand how to install the software.
During the installation, the procedure will help set up the wireless connection.  Assuming everyting was working with the wireless printing before, then it should work again.
===========================================================
General Instructions to Install the Printer Software
Reminder:
In most cases, the Solution Center has been replaced by the Printer Assistant.
The Printer Assistant shortcut will be installed on your Desktop during the last part of the installation.
Windows Operating System:
Create Restore Point:   Create a Restore Point – Win7 OR  Create a restore point Win8
Open HP Drivers & Downloads
Enter your Printer Model information
Select your Printer from the “Results” list
OR
Open HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One Printer - G510g Drivers
Enter your Operating System in the Drop-down menu
Click NEXT and Scroll down
Look for category Driver - Product Installation Software
Select the Basic Driver, e-print, or Full Feature Software
Save the *.exe installation package(s) on your computer
The file(s) will likely save to the "Downloads “folder.
Be sure to look for Updates as needed for your installation. If available, you may download the Print and Scan Doctor and / or other programs from Category – Utilities.
If you have ‘Admin’ control, you may highlight the package and “double-click” to install it, else Right-Click, Select run as Administrator and install.
NOTES:
Look at the bottom half of the main webpage for your printer for helpful videos to assist with the installation of the printer software!
Scroll the video list back and forth until you find the video that most closely matches your situation.
If using a USB connection: Download and install the driver software before connecting a USB cable.
Ethernet: Connect the printer to the network and (Optional) assign the printer an IP address at the router. Once the printer is connected to the network, be sure the printer is switched on and then install the printer software.
After the initial installation is complete and working, check / install Category - Update
There is valuable information at the support website, including sections for Manuals, Troubleshooting > How-to, Troubleshooting > Solve a Problem, plus alerts and notifications for your printer.  Be sure to take an extended look at what is available.  Bookmark the page.

I can't print wirelessly using Airport Express.  I have my HP printer connected to a USB hub, and the hub to the Airport Express, but when I select the HP from the printer list, my MacBook says the printer is "off-line" - even when it is not.  I've tried several USB connectors, and several different ports on my USB hub; same result.  I need to have the HP connected to the hub 'cause from there it's connected to our desktop Mac.

  • Can't print wirelessly from iMac to HP 8600 all-in-one

A few weeks ago, I purchased a HP 8600 basic printer and setup it up to my two iMacs and to the router (cisco brand).
I haven't really printed with it since I have gotten it, which did print when I tested it at first. Now I can't print wireless from either iMac (one iMac is ver. 10.9 and the other is ver. 10.8). Both my computers and printer are connected to my router, but when I go to print something the printer dialog box tells me: "the printer is not connected."
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks

  • Can i print wirelessly from iPhone to HP OfficeJet 4500 Desktop Wireless All-in-One Printer ?

i just bought a new printer and its not apper in my iphone how can i print wirelessly ? from iphone ?

the HP iPrint app was replaced by the HP ePrint Home & Biz app. The best source of iPad/iPhone printing compatibility information is the HP support page for Cloud services. Click on the section "HP OfficeJet Products" to see a chart detailing AirPrint, ePrint and HP ePrint Home & Biz compatibility for each OfficeJet product.
Note that OfficeJet 4500 is a family of printers, each with different capabilities. When purchasing it is important to identify the manufacturer number e.g. the CB867A and the CN547 are both HP OfficeJet 4500 printers but the latter has wireless networking and the former does not. I suspect the above support page applies to the entire product family.

  • Changed printers, now can't print wireless from laptop

Hi. I changed to a HP printer from an Epson. Now I can't print wirelessly from my laptop through my Airport Express. I get a message that the printer is offline.
Went to the HP site & got latest drivers. And there was an Apple update for the HP. I can print when the laptop is connected to the printer by the USB cable.
When I first set up the AP Express 2 years ago, I was able to print wirelessly without any problems.
    any ideas?
    Thanks

Got it fixed. Went to the HP site again & they had info for OS10.5 that worked.

  • HT5569 How can I print wireless from my iPad 4

    Hi everyone!...
How can I print wireless from my iPad 4?
Your answer will be most appreciated.
    Thank u s. M.

See requirements for AirPrint and printers that support AirPrint here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
If your printer supports AirPrint but does not work then:
Your printer might need a firmware update
Your printer must be on the same WiFi network
Your router must support Bonjour (Zero-configuration networking).
    For troubleshooting:
Turn Off iPad, WiFi router (remove from power), and Printer (remove from power).
    Turn on WiFi router
    Wait 30 seconds
    Turn on printer
    Wait 30 seconds
    Turn on iPad
    Try to print.
If you need more help then what printer do you have?

  • Can I print wireless from iphone

Can I print wirelessly from iphone 4 to my wireless home printer?  Thanks!

If you have one of the few HP printers that supports airprint, or if you have an app that provides this feature, you can.
    Otherwise, no.

  • I have a Lexmark s405 printer and I've just updated the firmware and still can't print wirelessly from my iPad. Why?

I have a Lexmark s405 printer and I've just updated the firmware and still can't print wirelessly from my iPad. Why?

That model doesn't appear to support AirPrint (those that do are listed on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356)
Have you checked to see if Lexmark have their own app in the store, or there are third-party apps such as Print Central For iPad and Print n Share which might work with it

  • Upgraded to Yosemite and now can't print wirelessly

Upgraded my 1yr old Mac Pro to Yosemite and now can't print wirelessly to my Epson XP-405 through my wireless home hub! I've tried re-installing new printer drivers etc, throwing away preferences etc... these sometimes work for a single print then goes back to "Printer can't be found". My older iMac doesn't seem to have this problem (yet - fingers crossed!) and prints ok on exactly the same wireless network.
    Any suggestions gratefully received.

If you haven't done so already, try resetting the printing system.

If you have the printers IP address open Terminal (Applications/Utilities) and at the prompt type: ping {printerIP}. You will get a reply or failure.

  • Updated to 10.8.2 and can't print wirelessly

I recently installed 10.8.2 on my MacBook Pro and now can not print wirelessly to my Lexmark 544dn.  Tried installing "new" drivers, rebooting router, resetting printer system,etc... No luck.  Prints fine wirelessly from Windows 7 Partition (Bootcamp) and prints fine from USB connection.
Any suggestions?  Apple tech support says I now have to buy an AirPort router to get support?

rebooted 3x at various stages - makes no difference...
Just to be safe, just did it again - no luck...

  • Can't Print Wirelessly- "Network Host is Busy" - NOT!

Fairly new to Macbook, but when I initially set up my printer wirelessly it worked fine. After recent 'updates' to the OS and HP drivers, I'm stuck with the 'network host is busy' problem that I seen in many other threads. There have been NO changes to my hardware - same router, same printer. Print jobs sit in queue and host is always 'busy' but it's not, really. There doesn't seem to be a good and actual "solution" for the issue yet. Here's the details:
    Macbook Pro, 13"
    Mac OS X 10.6.4
HP OfficeJet J6400 (drivers - 3.0.4 - just updated with the latest update from Apple)
Printer is running ONLY wirelessly, it is not hooked to a PC. It has an IP assigned by my router.
I have two PC's that print to it just fine, wirelessly.
I removed the printer from the Macbook, and re-installed it sort of manually using IPP as the protocol. The Macbook 'sees' the printer, and I can access the printer utilities to view ink levels, see the hardware/firmware information, etc.
I can also print a test page wirelessly from the Macbook, because as I'm told, printing a test page bypasses the drivers; and if you can print a test page but can't print normally, it would seem there's a driver issue, no?
One thing I don't know how to figure out is the 'queue name' so I leave it blank for 'default'. This is the only wireless printer and there are no other shared printers.
So I'm pretty well stuck, and have to move files or send links to my PC so I can print stuff (flawlessly) from there since the Macbook won't print at all - I always receive the 'network host is busy' message. The frustrating thing is, when I first installed it months ago, installation went very smoothly, and everything worked perfectly - until recently.
I know it's not just me, but any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I think you should add the printer using the default browser (Bonjour), or, More Printers > HP IP.

  • Airport Express dropping out constantly so I can't print wirelessly

I have an iMacG5 running OSX 10.3.9. I have a DLink wireless router which creates my wireless network that the iMac connects to. Also, as my printer as at the other end of the room, I have an airport express connected via USB to the printer so I can print wirelessly. Everything worked like a dream for about 12 months. Until recently I had no security on this network and although I was aware this was risky, I was reluctant to change anything because it all worked so well. But my paranoia got the better of me and I changed the DLink to WPA security. Ever since then, the airport express has acted very strangely. The connection dropped and I was required to do a hard reset. I did that and everything worked. I felt so smug that I had worked out a computer issue! Little did I know that as soon as I shut down the system the airport express dropped out again. I have since discovered that I don't actually need to shut down for the thing to drop out. It just does it of its own accord.
I have contacted AppleCare 3 times and spent a total of about 4 hours on this to date. No luck. They suggested interference. However my airport icon usually shows either 3 or 4 bars and there is no difference when the thing drops out.
The only thing I have learned is that Airport Express does not have to be reset all the time. In my situation, it is best to just unplug it, let it rest for about 30 seconds and then you should be able to see the thing in the airport admin utility. It does take a while and several rescans in the utility, but eventually it does show up. This at least means I don't have to constantly set it up to join the network.
In fact, really it is a doddle to print! I don't know why people like to just go File-Print when you can go through the delight of getting out of your chair, unplugging Airport Express, waiting 30 seconds, looking at the dust under the cupboard thinking I really must get that, plugging the airport express back in, watching the light change from green to amber, to flashing amber, wait for it...wait for it...it's not happening....waiting...finally - green!. Back to the computer, go to Finder - Applications - Utilities - Airport Admin Utility, not showing up, rescan, not there, rescan, rescan, rescan, still not there, rescan, oh good, airport express is showing up. Now, go to Printer setup utility, delete the printer that is there, then add printer, select rendezvous, add my hp, OK......now I can hit File - Print.
Has anyone got any ideas on how I can join the boring legions of people who are oblivious to the joys of printing my way?

  • Can't print wirelessly via time capsule on a windows 7 computer

I have an epson rx580 printer that when attached to my time capsule, I can print wirelessly with no problem on my Imac however I can't get my Sony / windows 7 laptop to print properly via the time capsule... I have installed bonjour on the laptop and setup the printer with bonjour however the printer will print about a half a page and stop and get stuck until I turn it off.. I have downloaded all the latest windows drivers and the firmware to the time capsule is up to date. Does anybody have any experience with getting windows 7 to print properly on a time capsule?

Have you plugged the printer directly into the win7 laptop and tried to print, using the current drivers. Is that successful?
If the job is failing half way through, make sure the permissions are correct on everything and make sure you turn on guest access on the TC.
Other than that, sorry I don't really know what is going wrong. Sometimes the issue is two way communications is failing. Try plugging the laptop into the TC with ethernet.
