Can't print with Adobe Reader

I got a new update to Adobe reader. When ordered to print, the printer goes offline. Only happens with Reader.
I'm running OS10.6.8 and I have an HP 1022 printer. The printer driver is up to date.
This happened a year or so ago and then cleared up.
Any suggestions? Or is this Adobe sabotage again?

Which reader? Both 10.1.5 and 11.0.01 print here in all three OSs.

  • Can't print with Adobe Reader 9.4.1

I have an Apple Computer.  I can't print any PDF documents with Adobe 9.4.1
For the last couple weeks, I get the error message (from my Epson printer) says:
pstopdffilter/pstocupsraster failed with err number 13
This has never been a problem before.
    I use Snow Leopard 10.6.5
    Any help please.

Now it prints one page at a time, but for longer documents it's a drag that you have to click print for every page. This happened when I first installed Adobe Reader 9.1 in my MacBookPro and then was solved by Adobe via an update, so I guess I'll wait it out. Thanks everybody!

  • Can't printe with Adobe Reader 10.1.2

I recently downloaded Adobe reader 10.1.2 and can no longer print single pages. In particular I can't print 1 page documents. I select print and then click "Print",  the print dialogue box comes up but it does not change from 0%, the box closes and nothing comes through to my printer?? If I print multi-page document then it prints OK. I had no problem printing with previous versions including 10.1.1 and can't go back to previous versions whenI try to re-download. Has anyone else had this problem?

Please try the solution provided on: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/928/cpsid_92870.html
    That should fix things.

  • Can not Printing using Adobe Reader V9.0, OS is  Windows Vista

Help Me Please! I can not print in Adobe Reader. This is what is happening: I select print, the status bar shows pages being sent to the printer, the printer Hicups, clicks, clangs, clunks, and Burps and nothing comes out; No error, No copy. I'm running V9.0 but the same thing happened in version 8. I thought it was something to do with the down-load. What gives?

Sorry for disappearing; gotta make a livin'
No, I haven't looked for an updated driver for my printer but I will give that a try. I was able to print using the "print as image" function but it really bogged my system down to pre-Pentium days. I'll let you know if the driver update works. Thanks for reaching out!

  • Barcode printed with Adobe Reader XI cannot be recognized by barcode reader

    Dear Support,
We are generating barcode and convert it into pdf using Crystal Report for .NET Framework 2.0.
The pdf is opened with Adobe reader XI / FoxitReader 4.3.1. And it is printed with Avery Dennison AP 5.4 300DPI.
When the pdf is printed with Adobe reader XI, the barcode cannot be read with barcode reader, but when it is printed with FoxitReader 4.3.1, barcode can be read with barcode reader.
I've compared the two printed barcodes and found Adobe printed the lines thicker and the characters wider. Thus, two lines sticked together and become 1 line. As result, it cannot be recognized by barcode reader.
Could you explain why did this occur and how can I fix it in Adobe? Are there any settings I can change to solve it?
    Thank you very much.
Operating System: Windows Xp or Windows 7
Application: Adobe reader XI or FoxitReader 4.3.1

    Thanks Pak,
    I've attached the pdf on:
    https://files.acrobat.com/preview/47dde05c-4835-4bdc-881f-c406f8056f01
As the problem I've described in the post only occurs on specific printer, I've found a way to reproduce the barcode problem in most of the printer.
From the pdf I've provided, you may print it with Adobe and Foxit, using a printing scale of 190%.
For the Adoble one, you may observe some white lines in between the labels, and the Foxit, there are no white lines.
I do believe that two problems are related. Do you have any idea on that?

  • In Windows 8 environment--can't print from Adobe reader

Hi there. I have problems printing from Adobe reader in a Windows 8 environment. The printing defaul is "OneNote", and I can't get to the print screen to change it to my normal printer. When you try to print (with button or Ctrl-P) the print screen opens for a split second and then Adobe reader closes.
I would like to disable "OneNote" as the default, but can't get the print screen to stay open long enough for me to select my regular printer. I would be grateful for advice. I am sure there is an easy fix--I just don't know what it is. I tried uninstalling and re-installing Adobe reader, so i was able to print for the rest of that one day. Nest day--back to square one.
    Thanks.

Did all the updates thru 8.1.7.  Now it tells me to print the document I need to activate Adobe which I did when I installed it.  Under the Help screen the activation tab is greyed out.  If I did de-activate it on my old laptop I don’t think it would change the state of this tab.

  • Borderless printing with Adobe reader or acrobat and HP Officejet Pro 8100

    Hello,
When printing borderless with my Pro 8100 the printed pdf moves about 2mm to te left on the paper. (White vertical strip on the right side is the result and on the left side something is missing!).
What causes the problem seems to be that the HP Pro 8100 printsoftware makes the A4-format a littlebit larger (214,55 x 300,91) than an actual A4-format (210,00 x 297,00) when you choose borderless printing.
Therefore, I suppose that the pdf shoud be centered before printing. Adobe reader doesn't seem to have the possiblity to center the page however.
    Any tips?

The borderless printing option is intended to print photo's on photo paper.  When printing borderless the print is slightly oversized to eliminate (or reduce) to chance for white edges due to media skey.  Depending on your operating system you may have a setting in the Advanced tab of the driver for Overspray, set this to minimum and see if it helps.

  • One char+ when printing with adobe reader

    hi,
i've sometimes a strange problem with adobe reader 9.0
when i print a pdf. the view of the screen is ok,
but on the paper (happens also on different printers) all printed text (chars and numbers) are increased by 1.
    this meas:
    1 will get 2
    2 will get 3
    A will get B
    a will get b
    etc.
when i print it again this does not happens.
does anyone know this problem / have a solution for it?
    regards, johannes

    >Has anyone come across a similar scenario?
Yeah, it's come up in the forum before. Usually older HP printers with old firmware. If newer firmware is available, I would try that. Otherwise you'll need to use the PCL driver.

  • Can't print from Adobe Reader X

Whenever I try to print from Adobe Reader I get the message "Adobe Reader has encountered a problem and needs to close." The error signature is:
    AppName: acrord32.exe
    AppVer: 10.1.2.45
    ModName: acrord32.exe
    ModVer: 10.1.2.45
    Offset: 0005e985
It does not matter if a PDF file ois on the web and it opens as a web page or if I open a file that is alreadty on my comuter.
I tested printing from an older version of Adobe Reader and it does not create a problem (that version is coming up when I download files that
    are on my Cloud server.
What is the solution, if any?

Kindly try the workaround available at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/928/cpsid_92870.html and this should help resolve the problem

  • Can you disable the "auto open" feature when printing with Adobe Reader x verxion 10.1.6?

Every time I print a file to PDF, it automatically opens.  Can this be turned off?  I was able to stop this in a previous version of Adobe, but it's been so long, I don't remember how I did it.  I've looked at the settings on my PDF printer as well, but I can't find anything.
    Thanks.

    Hi Sherry,
You can check the printer preferences for Adobe PDF printer and deselect 'view Adobe PDF result'.
On windows machine, please go to control panel and then open printer and devices. right click on the Adobe PDF printer and select printer properties/Preferences.
You must be using Adobe Acrobat to print a document to PDF.
you cannot print a document to PDF using Adobe Reader.
    Thanks

  • How can I print from Adobe Reader Touch for Windows 8?

I need to print information from my dropbox that is a .pdf format.  How can I print from ART for Windows8? I can't find the print icon nor does a right click give me the option to print.  I'm using a laptop, not a tablet. (And not loving Windows 8!)

Please see FAQ: Printing a PDF file in Windows 8.
If you are running Windows 8 on a laptop with an Intel-based processor, you can install Adobe Reader XI (desktop app with classic UI) alternatively.
Go to your Windows 8 desktop.
Go to http://get.adobe.com/reader/ in your browser.
Download and install Adobe Reader XI.
Launch Adobe Reader XI and open a PDF file.
Select File > Print from the menu.

  • Can't Print in Adobe Reader

I just downloaded the newest Adobe Reader and when I try and print it does not work and says no pages selected to print. I know it isn't my printer because every other program prints with no issues. I have also tried printing as an image, which some people said would fix it, but it does the same thing. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled my printer and Adobe. Any suggestions?

    Hi Stacey,
Solution 1) Try running the Repair command from under the Help menu.
Solution 2) Update to the very latest point version of Adobe Reader.
Solution 3) Try temporarily turning off Protected Mode/View under Edit > Preferences > Security.
Solution 4) Try uninstalling  then re-installing Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions.

  • I am trying to open a file that was e-mailed to me in the PDF format, when I click on it, the icon shows ''connecting'', but doesn't open the file are allow me to save it to my computer so I can open it with Adobe Reader, what else can I do??

My suppliers e-mail me a copy of my monthly statements which is so much better than using snail mail, but since I have started using Mozilla Firefox, I can't seem to get them to open nor will it allow me to save them to my computer. Do you have any idea why this would do this??

    Hi brendalynn6,
Have you looked at the [[Opening PDF files within Firefox]] Knowledge Base article? There are a couple of different PDF plugins listed in the article. I'd suggest you give those a shot. You might also want to take a look at [[Using the Adobe Reader plugin with Firefox]].
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Printing with Adobe Reader in Windows 8?

I am using Windows 8 which automatically took me to the new version of Adobe Reader. You know, the clean screen with no toolbars. However it's not apparent where to go to print the document that autoloads in .pdf format. The hidden toolbar that comes up at the bottom doesn't have a print icon. Thanks for your help. Drinian256.

No point in me starting a new thread.
I have yet to find another one on the same issue - but i'll keep digging.
Installing adobe reader for Windows 8 seems to force us to install as an app.
I am unable to find anyway to print from this app.
    Any ideas?

  • Error in Printing with Adobe Reader 11.0.2

I just upgraded Adobe Reader from X to XI on my older Windows XP desktop. When I opened a PDF file and tried to print it, I got a pop up box saying: Prop Res DLL Not Loaded with an OK button. I could not get rid of the error mesage until I closed down Adobe Reader repeatedly. Version X worked correctly so I uninstalled XI and resinstalled it from Adobe's Reader Web Site but stiull get the same error. Any suggestions?

I did go to the HP website, downloaded the latest drivers, and corrected the problem. Thanks for the help.
