Can't publish my hyperlinks to entire site

i'm just trying to publish a 5-page site for the first time to my .mac address, and it only publishes the first page and the links won't take me to the other pages...the hyperlinks are enabled in iweb but don't seem to work once I'm on the .mac site...any ideas what I have done wrong?

Could you post the url so we can take a look?

  • Can you publish a page to different site?

Is there a way to publish a page to different sites? For example, if I want to write a policy page that applies to all team sites, is there a way to publish this page to all team sites? I don't want to link to the page.
I tried Content Search Rollup and it just show the link to the page, I want the content of the page to be there.
    Thank you,
    Kirk

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to publish a policy page to all the team sites and it displays the content of the policy page in the team sites.
You can insert the Page Viewer Web Part into the a new page in all the team sites and type the URL of the policy page.

  • IWeb won't publish changed pages, just entire site

Hi folks, I have iWeb 09 and use ME as my webhost. I'm having an issues when I create additional pages iweb now publishes the entire site and not just changes. In the past published pages were blue and changed pages were red, now all pages stay red even after a successful site update.
of course this is rather annoying and time consuming as i have several gigs on my site, when only changing 1 page it takes hours to publish.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Jon

    David:
I just discovered one reason the iWeb keeps displaying icons red when publishing to a folder.
How are you publishing the site? To a folder and then uploading via an FTP client? If that's the case then are you deleting that folder after you upload? Again if that's the case then that's the problem. When publishing to a folder iWeb looks for for a plist file something like this: assets.file/--localhost-Users-toad-WSM%20Input-Helper%20Site-.plist. If that file is missing from the folder iWeb thinks this is a first time publication and publishes all the pages. You need to create a permanent folder to publish the site to and not delete between edits and republications. This is what it should look like:
Bottom line: don't delete the site and files after publishing to a folder.

  • How can I change a hyperlink in iweb site?

In my iweb site I have a hyperlink to an external page.  I now want to change that link, and have it link to one of my internal pages.  I changed the link in iweb, republished the files, uploaded them to my host site, but the link still goes to the original external page.  How can I fix this?

Select the text or item that is the hyperlink and bring up the Inspector/Link/Hyperlink pane:
Select One of My Pages from the Link To: menu and select the page you want to link to.

  • Can't publish to SharePoint natively: trusted sites issue?

I'm trying to publish an RH 10 project to SharePoint using the Multiscreen_HTML5 layout. In SharePoint (Native), I selected the 2007 version option because 2010 wouldn't work. The publish process goes all the way through until I get "Publishing has been cancelled. Access Denied. Before opening files in this location, you must first add the web site to your trusted sites list, ..." Of course the whole site is already in my Trusted Sites list.
Is there something I can do on my end, or should I bother my SharePoint admin about this? I think it has a problem adding .aspx files.

    Hi Willam,
I can't really tell what version of SharePoint we are using. I'm uploading to our new Office 365 portal. I manage to upload most of the files to the target using the SharePoint 2007 option; there is no authentication in the layout profile for that version.
I get nowhere using the 2010 version. If I use a mapped drive to the target in the SharePoint Site field, I get the error "Value does not fall within the expected range". If I use the URL to the site I get "The remote server returned an error (403) Forbidden." I used my credentials for getting into Office 365.
Does RoboHelp 11 have support for Office 365?

  • How can I publish to my non-iWeb site

I want to use iPhoto but not iWeb.
It doesn't give me an option to publish any other way.
    Can someone help?

You need to use File->Publish to Folder... which will create your site in a folder on your Mac. Then you need to upload the contents of that folder to your website using an FTP client.

  • Can i publish on another's iweb site?

my wife has a web site and will be out of the country for a few weeks and i need to up date it for her
can i edit her site from my computer?

Do you both work off the same computer or from your own computers?  If it's off the same computer then just log into her account and run iWeb from there.
If it's from separate computers you and either user her computer or copy the Domain.sites2 file that is in her your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to your computer.
Next, create a new user account on your computer and put her domain.sites2 file in the Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder for that account.  Then go to the System/MobileMe preference pane for that account and log into her MobileMe account.  Now you an log into that second account on your Mac, launch iWeb and update her site.
To make switching accounts more convenient go to the System/Accounts preference pane and setup Fast User Switching.
Remember when you wife returns you will need to copy the domain.sites2 file you've been using for her back to her computer and replace the old one in her  Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder.

  • Can't publish changes to live site. Keep getting error message.

I can't publish small changes to live site.

  • Can't publish - unknown error

I've never had problems publishing with iWeb before. My site has been up for almost a year now trouble free. Now, all of a sudden, I get a "Publish Error - An Unknown Error Occurred" message. Has ANYONE come up with a solution to this? It's really frustrating.
    Thanks!

I have this same problem now consistently--that I can't publish to my iDisk/web site using iWeb 1.1.2. It's happen occasionally before, but now I can't do anything to get around it, when I've added a new page that contains photos. I get an "unknown error".
I've followed these instructions to try to publish to a folder, and I can't even do that--I get the same error. My iLife/iWeb (1.1.2) came with the upgrade to Leopard.
I understand how I can drag-and-drop the local/folder version of the site to my iDisk, if I can publish it to a local folder, but any suggestions about how to be able to publish to a local folder?
I started my Web site on an older version of OS X and iWeb. I've tried deleting everything on my iDisk iWeb folder and publishing all, but that doesn't work, and like I said, now I can't even publish to a local folder.
I'd love some thoughts ... Tx

  • Can I publish one page at a time to the ftp when publishing entire site?

I am currently using iweb to manage my website and i changed a number of pages and require to re-publish the entire site. When i go to do this it attempts to bundle all the files together and publish, but the site only allows for 8 connections via ftp. Is there a way that when i publish the entire site that i can publish one page at a time?
    Thanks for your help!

Publish your site to a local folder...
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/iWeb/Publish-Website.html
... and upload the files using an FTP application...
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/Search-Engine-Optimization/Upload.html
That way you can upload individual files and folders - one at a time.

  • I can't publish entire site on iWeb

I have tried to publish my entire site on Mobile Me: http://web.me.com/wwl2/Site Only the first page, the "Welcome" page, shows up even though it says that the full site is published. My URL immediately defaults to http://web.me.com/wwl2/http__web.me.com_wwl2Site/Welcome.html
What did I do wrong? Thanks!

    Bonjour,
iWeb > View > Show Layout
An iWeb page has 4 parts (4 layers): the header , the navigation menu, the content, the footer.
You've moved the textbox "in the arizona heat" from the body_layer (content) into the nav_layer (menu) above the navigation menu. So you can't use the menu links.
Hold down cmd and moved this textbox under this image
    !http://i22.servimg.com/u/f22/09/02/44/99/under10.jpg!
You've a second trouble: your text is a text image (http://web.me.com/wwl2/http__web.me.com_wwl2_Site/Welcome_files/shapeimage2.png) because you insert a text with web safe and non-web safe fonts. Use multiple text boxes, and one of them only for the text with web safe font.

  • Can't publish to .mac OR my ftp site... can someone help?

Hi all... I tried my best to glean answers from existing posts, but alas could not, so I am posting my blurb in hopes that someone can just point me in the right direction. Problem: Since upgrading to iWeb '09, I can't publish to either my .mac space or my other server (bluehost) without getting errors. On the .mac side, the upgrade caused my entire site to go "red" (meaning it needs to be re-published, I assume). When I hit the "publish" button, away it goes through the page creation process, then begins uploading the site (I assume). An hour or more later it comes up with this message:
"An error occurred while publishing the file "/private/var/folders/SP/SpSOe.../ TemporaryItems/com.aple.iWeb_62.... (etc.)... /mysite/evo/Archive/files/rptilev6-1.jpg". Try publishing again later.
    ++
When I try publishing (different website) to an FTP folder -- the reason I upgraded to iWeb '09, and this was going to be BIG for me -- hitting the "test" button results in a "you're good to go" message (or whatever it says). All seems well. And when I hit the Publish button, the pages are promptly created and it begins uploading the site. After 10-15 minutes though, it stops, and I get a simple message saying "There was an error communicating with the FTP server. Try again later, or check with your service provider." The console.log reveals this message appearing just before the aforementioned "error" message: "Operation could not be completed. Could not connect to server "blahblah.com."
My normal FTP client (Fetch) reveals that a bunch of the files and folders have been successfully uploaded, but only a few. I am then able to use Fetch to upload the entire site with no problem.
Any ideas? A clue or two would be appreciated. Will I be able to use iWeb '09 to upload ANYTHING from here on out? Many thanks in advance!

We should start a club. I upgraded from 08 to 09 twelve days ago, on both my MacBook Pro and my brand new iMac. All my iWeb files immediately went red on both machines and stayed that way - and several pages of my website disappeared. All attempts to upload to MobileMe failed, whether I tried to upload the full site or just the changes. Sometimes I got (and still get) a Publish Error message, sometimes a 'Couldn't connect with MobileMe'. I've followed all suggestions on this discussion board and have been on the phone to Apple chat lines, who also offered suggestions that didn't solve my problem. Last week I spend fair portions of three days on the phone to AppleCare in Ireland. Very helpful, very nice, and after much experimentation, including dragging my site to different files on my iDisk, we managed to make my site live again. But the files on my desktop remained red and I still couldn't upload changes. AppleCare were going to continue to try and come up with a solution, but I haven't heard from them for a week now, and they're no longer answering my emails. Perhaps the person I was talking to is away at the moment, I don't know. What I do know is that I'm no nearer finding a solution.
Today another Apple adviser suggested removing Logic from my Applications folder because Logic 08 can conflict with GarageBand 09 apparently, and reloading iWeb (for the fourth time). I did this. No change. But it might work for one or two of you.
The point is, if none of these solutions work for us, what can we do? I really like iWeb and am a big Apple fan until something like this happens. And it shouldn't happen, to any of us, especially if we have the most up-to-date software and equipment.

  • Can you publish from Muse to current Non-Muse BC site without overwriting whole site?

i have a current BC site, done traditional way with code editor and uploaded and live.
I'd like to publish a single Muse page to the site. If I publish from Muse, select my site's domain, and upload will I overwrite the rest of the site?
Are you able to 'mix' a Muse page and a traditional BC site? Would I publish to folder, take that and FTP to the site; would that be safer?
    Just curious.. thanks

I am afraid that as of now you will not be able to publish in a folder on Bc and if you publish from Muse then indeed it will over-write the entire web site.
You can infact, export the html of the web site created via Muse and then FTP it to the BC server. You will also have to transfer the files on which the page is dependant. Safer would be to FTP and not publish to a folder on BC and link it to the web site manually.
Let us know for more clarifications.

  • Can PC (i.e.,Windows/ non-Mac) users publish to an iWeb '09 Site?

I would like to create a website in iWeb '09 which will require multiple users to contribute/publish content, but the other site collaborators do not have Macs, just Windows-based PCs.
    Question:
If multiple people are needed to publish content to the same iWeb '09 website, do each of them have to have a Mac with the iWeb '09 program on their respective computers? Or:
    1) Is there a web-based iWeb publishing/content management tool (like Joomla or Zope)?
    2) Can one person publish using iWeb and others add/change content with another publishing tool/program?
    Any other suggestions are welcome.
    thanks.

Joomla should be Mac and PC compatible.
Once published, you can alter the site by using a simple text editor such as Text Edit on a Mac, Text Wrangler or Taco or any other text editor. You can use Dreamweaver, which is Mac and PC compatible.

  • IWeb error messages -- can't publish large site after upgrade.

I just upgraded to iLife 09 and all of my websites showed up red in the new iWeb - indicating that they needed to be published. I hadn't changed any of them since the upgrade but I figured it was part of the upgrade to republish all of them.
Whenever I try to publish the sites I get the following message:
An error occurred while publishing file “/private/var/folders/pM/pMWBd0yEF04cfDIeAZkuPE+TI/TemporaryItems/com.apple.iWeb7281_TEMP_288612390_15/sites/JW/Things_and_Such_files/shapeimage2.png”. Try publishing again later.
I've tried all the usual suggestions. I threw away the preferences files and cache files for iWeb. I logged out of MobileMe and logged back in. I tried to publish from an older version of my Domain file from Time Machine. If I tell it to publish the site to my desktop then it works just fine. The site that it has problems with creates a 179MB folder on my desktop when I publish to my desktop. The other two sites that I have in iWeb publish perfectly in MobileMe but are not bigger than 3 MB each.
I tried moving parts of the larger site out of it, publishing the significantly shrunken page and then adding the rest back in smaller pieces. It will publish the smaller selection with no problem. It won't let me add the pieces back in, however. IWeb freezes up when I try and I have to reload the previous Domain file from Time Machine.
So, my question is: Is there a limit to the size of site that can be published using iWeb? If so how do I get around this?

    Reboot fixed it.
