Can't Publish

I have an iMac core duo with a Fibre-Optic connection. When I hit "publish" or "publish all" I get a .Mac Welcome window with sign-in. Behind that there is a Connecting to .Mac task bar which never connects (seemingly). I sign in over and over with no problem but no publishing ever occurs. The files in iWeb remain red, never turning blue. I saved the iWeb website I created to a folder no problem (size 119MB). Am I missing something? How long should it take to upload this when it does work correctly? I read through the forums but I haven't seen this yet. Thanks.

Welcome to the discussions.
From your Applications/Utilities folder, launch Keychain Access.app.
Under Keychains/login, Category/All items, verify that the correct .Mac password is entered for any and all .Mac items that are shown by double-clicking on the .Mac item shown, and checking the info under Attributes. Check Show password to make sure that the correct password is being used.
Next, run a Keychain repair:
Keychain Access/Keychain First Aid/Verify & Repair
That should do it.

For iWeb, I like to do only one site per domain file. I move domain files out of the Application Support folder and place them inside project or client folders, or in DropBox. Once you duplicate a domain file and begin customizing it, it will load and behave as a separate project/site.
I publish each iWeb domain/project direct to a server via FTP. Sometime I publish to a folder, then upload via FTP manually.
iWeb is a remarkable tool, especially when you work from scratch with blank tamplates

Can XML Publisher add a digital certificate (cert.pfx) via the xdo.cfg file or do I need to upgrade and use BI Publisher instead?

I need to add a digital certificate to a clients customer statements and invoices. XML Publisher 5.6.3 has been used originally to design the templates as RTF. I have the following questions please...
1. Can an RTF template be used or do I need to convert it to a pdf template?
2. Can XML publisher even be used or do I need to get the DBAs to install BI Publisher. XML Publisher doesn't even have the signature properties in the admin screens that BI Publisher has.

I don't believe you can create and publish a book directly from the iPhoto for iOS app. You can create a journal which can be published to iCloud, but that's the only sharing feature I can find. There may be third-party software that can do this; the HP Photobook App has been mentioned, but I know nothing about it. Otherwise, if you want to create a book, I think you'll have to transfer your photos to a computer and use software there (iPhoto for Mac OS X, if you have a Mac).

How can I publish an ics file to a remote server from my calendar server?

I am running Lion Server and have Calendar Service up and running. I have an account with a couple of calendars, one of which I'd like to publish to a remote server, as an .ics file.
From an iCal client it is possible to publish local calendars, but not remote calendars (for which the only option seems to be to 'Share').
How can I can I publish an ics file to a remote server? Programatically, if necessary.

How can I publish an App to a selected group of people ( not via App Store) without using the Adobe Content Viewer?

You'd have to sign up for an Apple Developer account and then gather all the UDID's (Apple limits this to only 100 devices) that you want your app to be installed on. Create your mobile provisioning profiles to include these ID's and then you could use TestFlight to push out your app and monitor who has installed it. Of course Testflight is intended for monitoring your apps performance but I'm sure you can get away with it if you use it to push you app. One thing to keep in mind is the mobile provisoning profiles are only valid for 1 year. Hope this helps.

I can't publish to iWeb, it doesn't seem to be able to login to my icloud account. any ideas?

I've been trying to publish a site on iweb. It seems that iweb is unable to sign in to my icloud account. I push the publish to mobile me tab, push the sign into your account tab,( already a member). I get the barbers pole for 30 seconds or so, and then, nothing happens. Any ideas anyone?

iCloud does not offer webhosting.
You have to find a webhost.

Can I publish an event to more than one shared calendar in iCal?

I have shared calendars (called "home") with my wife & kids and (called "Work") with my secretary at work so that my family can add home events and my secretary can add work things .
I've done this as I don't want my secretary seeing when my kids have an appointment to see the doctor or my kids to see when I have appointments with clients at work etc.
However some things (like when I've booked leave from work) need to be on both calendars.
QUESTION: Can I publish one event (using OS X Yosemite or iOS8.2) to multiple calendars ("home" & "work") in iCal?

i generally hate toolbars because it makes the browser look cluttered and hogs memory. but u should ask an expert on this if it possible its not too easy, addons will probably help you, for example if you have the stumbleupon toolbar, there are addons that will create an extra button for you to put anywhare for quick access. this solution probably may not work with other less known addons.

HOW CAN I Publish ALL the Original Different Colors in iCal

I am trying to publish a grouped calendar which includes several differently colored events. I am testing it by subscribing to it from an iCal that has no calendars created at all....and it still will not publish the different colors of the original calendar. All the events appear as one color.
How can I publish/share my calendar and have ALL the different colors show?

I am having this same trouble - I publish
webcal://ical.mac.com/neyt/neyt.ics
as a grouped calendar. I tried resetting my sync data fromthe computer that this calendar lives on ( OSX 10.4 because I realized earlier versions have Ical that doesn't even group..)
Now when I have a subscriber pull down the .ics file, it doesn't show up as grouped, nor do the groups live onthe website version.
why don't these groups just show up? if I send people the .ics file - it all works just fine...
I know that some colors might be in use on other computers, I'm sure that other colors will be assigned s individuals need them in their calendars, but the groupings should sync...

How can I publish just one page at a time?

I switched to a new computer, so I moved the domain file. When I open iWeb, all the pages are there. I made one small change, and only want to update the one page, but since it's on a new computer, all the pages are red and I can't publish just one page - every time I try, iWeb tries to publish all the pages, and it errors out every time. Can anyone tell me how to make it publish just one page at time in spite of the fact that all the pages in the sidebar are red? The only reason I can think for the error message is that there's too much content to do it all at once.

Yes. If you are uploading to a server and not MobileMe, then just select the option publish to a local folder.
When you have done this, then use Cyberduck or Transmit and upload just the one page from your site folder to your server, plus it's resultant file. So if you just want to upload a Welcome page for example, use Cyberduck to upload just the Welcome.html page and the Welcome files to your server and into your root folder on your server, which would be either a public_html folder, a www or htdocs folder.

You can't. That's one of the most widely reported complaints of iWeb: you have to publish the whole darn thing every time you update one page.
I've gotten so I publish the whole thing but upload only those pages I know have changed.

I am not really sure, if I understand you right. But try this:
Don’t place a picture, but draw a box and use the "Fill" command to put a picture into it.
(Don’t click onto the color swatch, but onto the blue link "Fill".)
In this case responsivness should work.

Can't publish larger files in iWeb 09

Have recently updated my iWeb to 09 and had accidentally deleted my old Domaion file so had to rebuild site from scratch. Anyway, since I have, it gets stuck on pages that have any larger files on them (movie and audio files) despite having plenty of space in my MobileMe account. I get "Try again later" message.
Have managed to publish successfully to a local folder which I then tried copying with index to 'Sites' on my iDisk but that that too presents a problem saying "The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "" could not be read or written. (Error code -36)
I'm baffled! All I want to do is publish my site without any hassle, the files aren't that big only about 40 MB each. Can anyone suggest anything? Have had a look at iwebfaq and on here and have tried a few things but nothing seems to help so far. Any suggestions would be very gratefully received! Thanks!

That error code is -36 ioErr I/O error. Can you publish a different site? Crate a small test site and see if it will go thru. If not then it's not just your primary site.
If you expect to revise the site occasionally or want your visitors not to have to wait for those large files to load while the host page loads you might look at these ways to add a movie or audio file.

These methods require loading the movie or audio files only once and do not load on the pages until they are played.

Can't publish to MobileMe

I just imported some video from my Canon HG10 video camera into iMovie. I then tried to publish the video to MobileMe, and I received an error that says "Unable to prepare project for publishing. The project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred. (Error code =-50)."
Any thoughts??

Problem solved!! Reinstalling did not work, but what was key was deleting an old imovie project library folder (which contained an old project that was completed before numerous updates). For some reason this library and folder could not be deleted from within the application, so I found the file on my HD and dragged it to the trash...I have no idea what was causing the hang up, but the new files can now publish...

I currently have a MobileMe account, a Mac running iCal, and I am using a plugin from Rapidweaver on my personal website so that I can make appointments on either my Mac, iPhone or iPad and they all sync together and also sync and show up on my online calendar on my website. I would like to migrate from my MobileMe to the iCloud and know that eventually in 2012 I will need to, but from everything I have read and understand, this will mess with my Rapidweaver plugin calendar and need an alternative.

Not knowing how the plugin works it's difficult to comment in detail. At present, calendars listed under your MobileMe login name can be shared privately (to other MobileMe subscribers) or publicly (non-editable) for viewing in a CalDAV client such as iCal or Google calendars. Only calendars listed under 'On My Mac' can be published to a web page, and possibly it's this which the RW plugin takes advantage of, but I don't know the details.
When you migrate to iCloud, all your calendars, including the 'On My Mac' ones, will be moved to the iCloud server. They can be shared privately or publicly in the same way:

If you want to publish to a web page you would have to move the calendar in question back to under 'On My Mac' as detailed in the second set of numbered instructions here:

However as I don't have Lion I can't confirm whether the publishing option is still available for 'On My Mac' calendars - it would be useful if someone could confirm or deny this. You would need to find alternative webspace hosting for it as iCloud does not include web page hosting.
