Can't Purchase Songs

I've been trying to purchase songs today and keep getting the following message:
"Could not purchase song because network connection was reset"
What does this mean and how do I fix it? Everything else is working fine as far as the internet connection goes. I can listen to music samples and play my itunes. I just can't buy anything.

It seems that the iTunes servers have been down for hours. That would effect anything that involves you logging into iTunes. In your case, buying music.
Word as of now is we have to sit tight and wait for things to perk up.

He has a 25 dollar balance in credit due to a gift card we redeemed.
He purchased something in an app he got and it did not seem to deduct it from his
available credits.
basically i want to make sure the credits will be used before my card was ever charged for anything.
does the app store use available credits before resorting to the credit card on file?

Cannot download updates and cannot purchase songs on iTunes. Tried reloading iTunes. Did not fix problem.

I figured out that now you can download them for free just by contacting iTunes Store Support and requesting redeem codes for apps made by Apple.

Unless you can show some form of residency you cannot buy from another country's store. The question on cross store purchasing is asked frequently so I'll just quote the most complete answer (courtesy of Dave Sawyer) from the many given:
In order to buy from any given country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
.......this is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice. And this also applies to all the legal download stores that carry major-label content, not just the iTMS.

You can if the song that you want to buy is in the Malaysia iTunes store, you can't purchase from another country's store (you need to be in a country, and have a billing address in that country on your account, to use its store).
If the song that you want to purchase isn't in the Malaysia store then you can try requesting that it be added (these are user-to-user forums), but unless the Malaysia rights-holder agrees to it then Apple won't be able to sell it there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

All the songs are grayed out in iTunes and I can't purchase anything from my iPhone. I have gone over the settings and can't see an issue. I can purchase songs online. Nothing wrong with the account or the card on file.

I have this problem too. Mine started as soon as I upgraded my iphone 4s to IOS 6.0.1 Worked fine before the upgrade. Apple????....

i just attempted to purchase some songs on iTunes, but it wouldn't let me. i don't think it charged me (i'm not entirely sure). i've heard that people are now able to get their purchases back, but what about purchasing songs in the first place?? is anyone else having this problem? or what Apple is doing about the problem and how soon it will get fixed??

A couple of questions. Can you describe EXACTLY what happened when you say "it wouldn't let me"? Did you get any error codes or messages? In iTunes, did you try store>check for purchases to see if you can get the download to restart? To see if you were charged, go into your account by click on your account icon in the upper right of the store main page, then check your purchase history. The store was having problems for a couple of days last week, but those problems have now been resolved.

Can't purchase songs due to constant "Incorrect Address" message

Anyone else caught in this ****? I go to purchase a song via Itunes Store and it won't allow me to...I keep getting a message saying the home address in my account is "incorrect" even though it isn't. Same one I've always had on there. Message says it's not a "valid US address."
Tried a bunch of times logging on and off over the past 48 hours and it's still preventing me from purchasing songs--same error message. What's up w/this?

I am stuck in this cycle as well. Did you guys find a way to fix it? I just updated my Itunes version & is is now doing this. I've tried multiple times to tweak the address (the address that has been on there for at least a years now) and nothing is working.

Can't purchase songs because I don't have my security questions

I have been trying to purchase songs on my iTunes and it will not let me because I do not have my security question answers. I have tried multiple times to reset them and I haven't received my email. I checked my spam, I checked other emails and I have not received anything. This has happened multiple times. Does anyone know how to receive the email to get the security questions either reset, or the answers sent to me?

If you aren't receiving the reset email to your rescue email account then you will have to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.

I have a USA iTunes account but when I change the country to Brazil, I am able to preview the albums but not able to purchase there. It says "This Apple ID is only valid for purchases in the US itunes store".

You can't. To buy from another country's iTunes store you need an account in that Store. To have one you need a billing address in that country to setup your account.

Can't purchase songs from iTunes store

I recently pre-ordered an album from the Australian iTunes store, which has now become available for download, However, when iTunes prompts me to purchase it, an error message appears that says: "The iTunes Store is unable to process purchases at this time. Payment processing is temporarily unavailable. You may continue to browse the store. Please try to make your purchase later."
When I go to the page that the album is on, and click on "Buy Album", it says the download will begin and that my credit card will be charged for the purchase, even though I'm using Payclick (I don't have a credit card connected with iTunes). If I decide to go ahead with this option, how will the album be paid for, if I don't have a credit card?
I only contacted Apple Support a few hours ago, so it's too early to have received a response yet.
Has anyone else been experiencing the same problem?

Received a reply from Apple, but they clearly misunderstood my query. They thought I didn't know how to download it. The people who answer these emails must either be very stupid, or they can't speak English properly. I've sent a reply to them, so hopefully this time they'll understand...
