Can't put my song in my MP3 player

I bought a song and realized the file (because of the DRM) cannot be playable unless I use I-tunes to load it. Yet, I don't see a way to get I-tunes to load my MP3 player. How do I do this?
BTW, my MP3 player acts like an removable drive.
I am sure the solution is something simple I am missing.
Please help.
Thank you.

Thank you both for your help. I was hoping Itunes was more like Musicmatch or WMP when it comes to recognizing my player and offering to write or "sync" directly to several MP3 players from my CDs, HD, or from their online store. I know I can copy other files by going to the Itunes folders, but the DRM (or purchased) files I cannot.
However, I am glad to see there is a workaround. Although, it is a lot of trouble for one song.
Thanks again.

  • How can I get Itunes songs to my mp3 player (Sony Sonic Stage)?

I've browsed through the forums and it seems a lot of people want to export Sonic Stage files to Itunes!
I want the opposite. I just bought 100 songs from Itunes and can't get the m4a format changed in the Itunes advanced setting and I can't import the songs into my mp3 player (Sony Sonic Stage) because the files don't appear as part of my folder when searching (even though I'm looking for "all files").
I tried the Windows explorer to drag and drop from the Itunes folder to my mp3 player (it is flash based but loaded through the software SonicStage)and it didn't work.
I REALLY don't want to burn all of the new tracks to a CD to try to transfer them all back onto my mp3 player. Am I missing something really simple or is this a compatability flaw? I won't buy any more songs if it's the case but your assistance is GREATLY appreciated

  • Putting itunes songs onto a mp3 player that isn't and ipod

Hi, I have no idea how to change the format of the songs i've downloaded in itunes so i can put them on my phone. My phones only accepts mp3, aac, m3u and mp4 files and isn't recognising the itunes files. Any ideas i would really appreciate...

Purchases from the iTunes music store have .m4p file extensions. So if your phone says it can accept those, they should work.
There is a forum especially for iTunes-enable phones,
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=794
You might have better luck over there. But I don't see any messages about Nokia phones - it's all Motorola-type phones like RAZR, SLVR, etc.

itunes will only sync with an ios device.
On the other hand, if you have a usb cord for your mp3 player, and you know what FOLDER your itunes music is located in (and for me its located at C:\Users\YOUR NAME HERE\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media  )
you can just select that folder and copy it to your mp3 player.
typically when you first plug in something like an mp3 player you get a windows alert asking if you want to view the contents of the device- say yes. copy your itunes folder to the music folder on your mp3 player.

  • HT1766 I want to put the songs from my MP3 onto my new phone but it just shows all my songs with an exclamation point. How do I convert my songs to work with my iTunes?

I want to put the songs from my mp3 onto my iPhone but everytime I go to do it it shows exclamation points next to my songs. How do I convert them to work with my iTunes and phone?

The "missing file" thing happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then say no when asked to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions. I can provide a step by step guide if you give me the two paths.
In some cases iTunes may be able to repair itself if you go through the same steps and locate the lost track. It may then offer to attempt to automatically fix other broken links. Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use myFindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes.

  • How can i switch a song into a MP3 Version like in the former iTunes version ?

hello, how can i switch a song into a MP3 File like in the former Version from iTunes

    Franky,
The Create New Version command always indicates the format that it presently set in your Import Setttings, which apparently is AAC.  To change it to MP3, go to Edit > Preferences > General > Import Settings, and set "Import Using" to MP3 Encoder. Also select your preferred bitrate.  OK out of there, and then look again at Create New Version.

Not from the iPhone itself, no. You'll have to get the track into iTunes on your computer and then sync it to your iPhone.

how can i put my songs from my iphone to itunes on my laptop without replacing it with the content of the music on my laptop?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Have you failed to do this?
If so, not good, then you may be able to purchase third party software to extract the music from your iphone.  This is not supported by Apple.

  • Cant get purchased songs to my MP3 player

How can we listen to our purchased songs on our MP3 player?
If it's a protected song, you can't. Eighty percent of the iTunes Store music is now available in an unprotected format, and a previously protected song can be upgraded for 30 cents in the United States.
If it's not protected, open the iTunes preferences, click on General, push the import settings button, change the default encoder to MP3, right-click the songs in iTunes, and convert them to MP3. iTunes Store songs come as AAC files; only podcasts include MP3s natively.

  • How to erase songs from an MP3 player?

I know this is strictly not an Apple question but I have looked around and cannot find an answer to my problem. I have an MP3 player. It is formatted to DOS FAT.
I can add mp3 songs without any problem to the MP3 player by just attaching it to a USB cable and then moving songs from iTunes Library by drag and drop.
I am having trouble erasing songs from the mp3 player.
I put the songs I do not want into Trash by dragging and dropping or by just choosing Put into Trash and they disappear from the window.
However, the songs are still on the mp3 player and I can still play them.
I have tried deleting the files from the mp3 player itself but it doesn't work either.
I am now thinking of formatting the mp3 player and erasing the disk using Disk Utility. Will that work? Or would that mean that my mp3 player will no longer function as an mp3 player?
The documentation is in a non-English language as the mp3 player was bought overseas so I can't get help from the mp3 manufacturer's website.
    Any suggestions?
I don't want to muck up the mp3 player so that I cannot listen to music. I'd rather keep the unwanted songs than do that because I will have to visit the A/S center to make the mp3 function again and that's a lot of bother. So that's why I am checking here first before I do anything drastic.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for that tip.
I found what the problem was (kind of) ...
When I tried to delete the songs that shouldn't be there, the delete function wouldn't work. When I pressed the button for "delete file", instead of deleting the file, it would take me to the first song which I didn't want to delete.
What I did in the end was:
    * I chose the first song (which was meant to be there).
    * I chose "Delete everything" ---> This time the delete function worked properly and the disk was wiped empty.
    * I then added all the songs I wanted individually again to the mp3 player.
    * I checked the mp3 player after adding the desired songs --- all the undesired songs had disappeared (unlike last time when they were still on the mp3 player even after I had removed them using the hard drive of my computer to open the mp3 player and delete the songs).
The problem was that the delete function didn't work properly when I was trying to delete the undesired songs (that weren't meant to be there as I had taken them to the Trash on my hard drive).
I might try your suggestion next time. I presume you mean empty the Trash on my mac. My mp3 player doesn't have a Trash folder (not that I can see anyway).

  • How to transfer songs from old MP3 player to Ipod

I have just upgraded to a 30gig Ipod Video. I had a Sony Walkman MP3 player before. I have got a couple of hundred songs on that MP3 player that I want to put on my Ipod. When I plug my old MP3 player into the computer and open Itunes, the songs come up in the Connect Player format (Connect Player is the Sony Walkman software). When I try to add them to Itunes it doesnt do anything or come up with any error message. I know they are the wrong format, how do I change them into a format that will go into Itunes.

You need software that will convert the songs to iPod form. You can just google the phrase "iPod Music Converter". And if you cant find anything change the phrase around a little bit.

    Much Appreciated.

You would have to read the directions that came with yout mp3 player.

    Not using itunes.
You can use the music on other music players that support the format that itunes uses.
Consult the manual for instructions on how to put music on the player.
