Can't re-download "Fellowship of the Ring" (HD)

Hi everyone,
I previously purchasd the "The Lord of the Rings" special extended edition, and I downloaded the FULL HD version. Today I received a letter from iTunes Team, here's the detail:
Subject: Your Fellowship of the Ring download
From: iTunes Store
Dear iTunes Customer,
Thank you for downloading the movie Fellowship of the Ring. Unfortunately, the movie you received may have had issues with the subtitles. We have corrected the problem and a new copy is available to download, free of charge. To receive the new version, please re-download the title from iTunes.
So I deleted the film, and tried to re-download the corrected one.
Here comes the problem, at the beginning the download window shows that
the size of the FULL HD version of the film is "7.78 GB",
but it suddenly turns out to be "3.50 GB", while keeps downloading.
And even it keeps downloading,
the process will eventually stop just right at 3.50 GB, with an error message behind.
According to iTunes Store description, the size of the FULL HD version of the film should be 7.78 GB, instead of 3.50 GB. Does anyone know what is going on? Thanks!

All, this is fixed for me as of this morning on the west coast. Check it yourselves, obviously delete the itunes download cache from the previous bad downloads.

Can anyone explain why the lord of the rings the fellowship of the rings is not available for purchase in the theatrical format? It's available in the extended version but not the regular.

Becasue whomever owns the rights to it did not provide it to Apple in order for them to sell it via the itunes store.

FYI Mac OS X is not designed to be installed on additional Macs, unless you purchased it from the App Store, in which case you can make as many copies as you wish and install it on as many Macs as you own.
From the Recovery Disk Assistant -
    Notes
If the computer shipped with OS X Lion or Mountain Lion, the external recovery drive may only be used with the system that created it.
If the system was upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion purchased from the App Store, the external recovery drive can be used with other similarly-upgraded systems.

You download apps from the Apple AppStore.

  • I can no longer download anything from the new style app store on 1st gen iPod touch

Whenever I click to install an app from app store the button disappears. If I click again in the general area that the button should be, I get a green empty button, if I cclick that, it turns blue but still nothing happens. On the old style app store it used to either begin unstallion or tell me that the app wasn't compatible with my device. Now I get NOTHING. Please can someone help?!

I have the same problem with my 1st gen Touch.  It started a few days ago when I and many other 1st gen users noticed that we could no longer download podcasts directly to our iPods, and after a day or two that seemed to be fixed, but now the app store is broken for us.  For me when I try to download an app I press the button and then the graphics for the button get all jumbled.  I can see it's there but the edges and letters are all mixed up and wierd looking.  It turns green like the download button, and when I push that it turns blue and then just sits there doing nothing.  I know this isn't a problem with updating my software because anyone who knows anything about earlier models knows that they stopped updating the iOS for them a long long time ago.  This is definitely a problem on Apples end where they've made some kind of changes to the app store that break it on earlier iPods (I saw another post from a 2nd gen user who is having the same problem).  I hope Apple fixes this soon.

    Hello, Martin Stuart.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would recommend making sure the vibrate switch is not engaged.  If the ringer switch is set to audible alert, try the steps in the second article below.

  • After upgrading to iOS5 I can not auto download anything. The buttons will not switch to ON. Any thoughts?

After upgrading to iOS5 I can not set the store to auto download anything. The buttons will not stay in the ON position. Any thoughts?

I experienced this one time and this is what I did and it worked for me. You can try it as well and see of it works for you.
Settings>Store>Apple ID - tap on your ID and sign out. Restart your iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign In. Then go to automatic downloads and try again.

  • Further 10.5.6 madness: can't even download any of the updaters!

I've been reading through the craziness people have to deal with after applying 10.5.6. But I'm one of those people who can't even download it. Every updater comes out truncated. The Software Update download comes out around anywhere from 70 to 200 MB, and then of course you get the whole "Configuring Installation" hang. But what's really annoying is I've tried to download both the Delta and Combo updaters from here and they keep truncating too! The Combo maxed out at 150-200 MB before stopping, the delta about the same. Then they announce to the system that they're complete disk images which of course they are not.
Most frustrating was just now. I thought I'd be cagey and pause/restart the download. I was doing fine, got to 475 MB on the Combo, and then all of a sudden Safari said "Connection timeout" and stopped downloading. (This time it did not think it was a complete .dmg.) I hit resume, and it started from the beginning. 1K ... 10K ... 200K ...
I already wrote Apple a complaint via their hard-to-find email form, but I'm putting this out there for documentation purposes. As far as I know, my ISP doesn't have any caps; downloading other large files, such as iTunes movies, goes fine at good speeds.
I'm installing on a clean, virgin late 2008 MacBook (aluminum) freshly erased-and-installed from its installer DVD. Not a single third-party application on it.

Update: I finally managed it. Don't know if Apple's servers changed something or it was just me, but what I did was used Software Update's Download Only option, and then PAUSED every 100MB or so, waited a bit, and resumed. Either way, it got me past the 175MB and 209MB marks where the package kept truncating, and I installed it using Installer and not Software Update. I am now running 10.5.6 and am expecting shenanigans. But hopefully if anyone has the same download trouble this could be helpful.

  • Why can't I download anything from the App Store?

I tried downloading a free app from the apple App Store but I now get a message saying there was a problem taking payments and I have to update my credit card details. This is confusing as the app is free and I have never tried paying for an app without having the money in my bank to pay for it. Why does it now tell me I ended credit card details to install an app and why has the error occurred with my bank details?

Check to make sure your credit card details (like expire date, etc) are current.

  • I can no longer download files. The download manager comes up and indicates file is downloading, but it isn't.

I can't download any files. The download window appears and indicates file is downloading, but it doesn't. I had to open IE to download latest version of Firefox. I have reset all download values to default. I have changed the location of file downloads and I've cleared the download manager.

You can find the original download location if you paste the code posted in this link in the Code field in the Error Console and click the Evaluate button.
    *Firefox/Tools > Web Development > Error Console
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/User:Dickvl/JavaScript_Error_Console#Download_Manager
That will give a pop-up with data about the currently selected file in the Download Manager window.<br />
That same data appears as a tooltip if you hover the icon at the left side of an entry in the Download Manager.
If the files are missing in that location then there must be some software running that deleted the files.
Did you disable the virus check initiated by Firefox as well?
