Can't (re)install CS3Web Premium on my new Windows7 computer.

I have been trying to reinstall many times my CS3 Web Premium on a Windows7 Home Premium HP computer with a AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 635 Processor 2.90 GHz 64-bit Operating System Model e9300z if that is of any interest. I have had no success, I have used the chat method to resolve this issue and they had me download several patch's that didn't help. I also downloaded the license recovery tool and that didn't help I am still receiving the license for this product has stopped working error message and none of the applications will even open. My computer that I originally had the software installed on crashed and was replaced with the present one it is not networked and is a home-based computer. There has to be a fix for this problem and not just upgrading the product which I can't afford to do at the present time.

I posted what I did because parsing your posting could lead someone to believe that you did think that Mr. Kazlow was an Adobe employee even if that wasn't your intent.
In terms of both Mr. Kazlow and Mr. Levine's statements, what is true is that Adobe no longer supports CS3 other than to provide ongoing activation support and even that is normally only for the OS versions for which the product was originally tested. The URL that Mr. Levine points you to indicates that Adobe did do some rudimentary testing of CS3 with Windows 7 and did find that under the limited conditions tried, that it did install and execute with some noted exceptions. That doesn't imply that Adobe provides any official support for Windows 7 with CS3.
I certainly do understand the frustration that you are encountering; I am sorry if you thought otherwise by my posting. If I fully understood the causes and a solution to the problems you are experiencing, I would certainly advise you directly of such a solution. For better or worse, I am not personally involved in any of the Creative Suite development, testing, marketing, sales, or support groups. I did have the CS4 Master Collection installed on both 64-bit Vista and 64-bit Windows 7 without any problems. One of the areas that I understand tends to be problematic with installing and running older software on newer Windows versions are changes to the underlying security model. Whether prudent or not, by always running as a full administrator, turning off Windows UAC (User Account Control), and keeping my system fairly clean of various shovelware that many computer manufacturers preload on their computers, I seem to have avoided many of the symptoms that you and others seem to be experiencing. Maybe this information may be of some assistance to you. Ultimately, many of these issues are ultimately solved by someone running your system via remote control and deeply analyzing the configuration. First and second level support personnel generally are not equipped to do that.
One final note. I also use not only Adobe software, but software from a number of other sources. I have learned that prior to buying new hardware or upgrading operating systems, it is prudent to (1) fully ascertain whether my existing applications are current and fully supported under the new hardware and software and (2) as part of my budgeting process, assume that the cost of my hardware and/or OS upgrade also must account for the cost of upgrading my application software as well. If I can't afford to upgrade the application software, I certainly don't do an OS upgrade!

  • How can I re-install CS2 upgrade on a new hard drive without serial no. of previous Photoshop 5?

A new hard drive has been installed on my G4 Mac with OS10.4. I am trying to re-install CS2 Premium on the new hard drive but I no longer have the serial number of my previous Photoshop 5. I need to enter this as the CS2 was an upgrade. I have spoken to Adobe technical support but they no longer support CS2 so are not able to help. They recommended that I try the Adbe Forum. All my Adobe products have been bought legitimately. I know people manage to use pirated Adobe software so there must be some way for me to activate a legally bought product.

    Michael
Thank you for your email and suggestion.
I have tried that and the only product listed is my CS5 Design Premium (which was an upgrade), none of my previous Adobe products are listed.
I am now looking to see if I can buy an old version of Photoshop that will work on a Power PC G4 Mac with OS 10.4.
I only need Photoshop on that Mac to paint from, not the rest of the Suite.
It is infuriating that I already have a legitimately bought Adobe product (as all mine have been) but I am unable to use it.
    Regards
    Trevor

Normally Microsft allows the installation of their programs, except Operating Systems, to be installed on a desktop and notebook at the same time as long as both system are used exclusively by the same person and Not at the same time.
So this should also be true for MS Office for Mac. The only way to tell is to install it on the Mini and then use the same key to activate it. If the activation goes through you are fine. But if you run both system at the same time do not open any of the Office programs on both system at the same time. That may trigger MS to disallow one of the activations.
MS Office for both Mac and Windows checks the local network and logs into the MS activation site everytime one of the apps is started to check current activation and to check if you have it running on more then one computer on your local network using the same key.

    Hi t0m#2410,
How did you install Acrobat, did you install it as a part of Suite installation.
If it is a part of suite then deactivate suite uninstall Acrobat, Reinstall Acrobat using Suite media. Launch Photoshop first and Activate.
    Then try launch Acrobat.

  • Can't get 4050n printer to work with new Desktop Computer: running XP

I have a new Desktop Computer, dual processor, which is running XP and MS office 2007.  I had my 4050N HP Laserwriter hooked up to my old desktop (which failed in the last two weeks, blown capacitor, etc) and it worked fine with XP on that computer.
So I downloaded the drivers I found for HP 4050N running XP, and can't even get a test page.  The connectors seem to be ok.  I had to buy a parallel port to USB cable and I have that plugged into the USB port at the back of my new desktop.
Any ideas of what else I should try?  If I had a computer virus with the old machine, could it have affected my printer somehow?
    I'm at a loss.
    Thanks!

Since you mention doing an upgrade I would be inclined to reset the printing system and then add the R2880 queue again.
Open System Preferences > Print & Fax
Move your mouse over the Printers list
Hold down the Control button and click the mouse
Click the "Reset printing system ..." popup
    Restart your Mac
This will remove your print queues but not your printer drivers. So you will only need to add your printer queues again.

  • Can I re-install LR4 without buying a new license?

I installed LR4 on an "old" computer a few months ago.  I like it so well, I bought a new computer optimized for LR and installed it again.
Through ignorance, stupidity, napping and a brain fade I caused a major failure to the SSD on the new computer.  I've shipped it off for repair.  I am expecting to get it back in working order but without any of the installed software.
I want to re-install LR on it but, my understanding is that you only get two installations. Since I was unable to de-register it, what do I do for what will be the third installation?
    Thanks in advance.
    Bill

    Thank you for the reply.
I was thinking that Adobe requires on line registration and they count.  After two it would get denied.  In my case, it is the same computer, both computers are mine and I only use one at a time.
I suppose I could derigister the old computer if necessary.

  • Installing iPOD software onto a new (second) computer?

    Hi,
Sorry I'm new to the whole iPOD/mp3 player scene. Well about 2 months ago I installed my iPOD software onto my family's computer. Well my parents just bought me a new computer that I'm taking to college. I read that I can only install the software from the CD once on one computer? Is this true and if so how do I get the iPOD software onto my new comp and transfer my library? Well thanks alot.

Congratulations on the new computer, Joshua. It would help us if we knew if it was a Mac or a PC, however.
You'll need to transfer your music first. Use any of the following three options:
How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer
Copying songs over a network to use with iTunes for Windows
    iPod Agent
You can use the CD as many times as you want. However, the software on it is probably out of date. Download what you need from the links below. Install iTunes first, then the iPod Updater. Then run the Updater (Start - Programs - iPod) and only connect your iPod when it tells you to. Choose the Update option.
    iTunes 4.9
    iPod Updater

  • Why won't my new desk top accept my apple password ? I changed my password and it works on my ipad but I can't get it to accept on my new desktop computer.

my new desk top computer will not accept my password.. i reset my password and it accepted on my ipad but will not take on my desk top.. what can i do.. please help. thank you much

Forgive what may be a dumb question on my part, but you've confirmed that you're typing the Apple ID correctly? Any difference, even an extra space, will cause an error.
If that doesn't help, post back with full details about your setup and the problem, including any error message, and someone may be able to offer additional suggestions.
    Regards.

  • I have a new Windows7 computer, transfered my files and settings from WinXP, I can use the web and receive emails using Firefox but cannot open emails. Can you help?

I just can't open my emails that I get from msn. My yahoo and gmail messages work and I can open them fine but I can't open my msn mail with this computer.

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
    NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)
