Can't re-install iLife suite after re-install of Leopard.
Hi there,
Does anyone know if I can get iLife again after re-installing Leopard on my MacBook? I did it a while ago and didn't miss it too much, but I'd like to try playing around with it all again. I bought my Mac just as Leopard had come out and wasn't pre-installed, iLife was pre-installed but had no install discs. Anyone got any ideas? Or should I just get Apple on the blower?
Cheers,
Mike

Hi, not trying to be rude, yet iLife is not on the Leopard disk.
Ray
That's correct. It's on the Tiger disks. I think for a time Apple was giving it away with new Leopard boxes. Maybe now they want everyone to purchase the latest version.
I would call Apple and see what they suggest.

You have not move enough parts of iWork over to the new computer. There are files in
Users > your name > Library > Application support > iWork. Get the iWork folder
MacHD > Library > Application Support > iWork '09. Get the folder
To get into the users Library you have to on Mountain Lion in the Finder click on Go in the menu while pressing down the Option key. -

I updated my iPhone today over wifi. It downloaded 6.1.3 completely and started then installed it. After the install all it does is show the connect to iTunes screen. What did I do wrong and now do I have to completely restore the phone?
Next question.... I did an iCloud save point earlier today so in theory everything should have been saved and the restore won't be a complete loss right? Please tell me my pics aren't gone.....
Thanks for the help. -
ILife missing after fresh install - no option to accept in App Stoer
Hi
I recently replaced my HDD with a SSD, and installed Mountain Lion fresh from a bootable USB stick that I made with Lion Dismaker.
The install all went fine, however I now have no iLife suite (iPhoto, Garageband and iMovie). I have checked the App Store, they are not in my purchases and I can see no option to 'accept' them. I bought my MacBook with Lion and the iLife suite pre-installed so have no disks for them.
Any help would be appreciated.
ThankyouGo to App Store > Account > Show hidden purchases and see if iMovie, iPhoto, GarageBand are here. If the programs aren't there, contact with App Store > http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact

Downloading Creative Suite after 90% installed, said Error w/ no solution?
Downloading Creative Suite 5.5 and after 90% installed, told me to quit Firefox, I did, then it said Error (1) with no instructions as to what the error is and how to solve it.
Do I need to be connected to the internet by any chance? I'm wireless and never have my computer hooked up downstairs but can move it if that could be the problem.
Many thanks.

Yes I have tried everything. Talked with support on the phone and all they could say was it is adobe Flash players fault. They had no idea how to fix it.

Can I import my iweb sites after re-installing ilife08
I'm sweating a bit here.
I've just installed leopard, and have refreshed my hard drive (ie deleted it all)
I back up all my sites that I created in iweb, then re-installed ilife 08.
I can't retrieve my sites that I created into iweb.
am I screwed?Hi there,
it depends on what you made a backup of...
Did you backup the Domain file?
User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain.sites2
If so you would just need to double click it...
If you didn't backup this file but did a backup of html pages then you will have to rebuild the site by copy and paste...

I can't run iTunes 10.7 after I install it.
I updated/installed 10.7 on my laptop and after I did I got this message -
I checked my permissions and they were all in order, so I tried it in SafeMode which got me the same result. After that I downloaded the standalone installer from Apple and did an iTunes repair to no avail. Next I unistalled the program, rebooted and then reinstalled and I am still in the same place. I updated on my desktop and it worked fine, but my laptop seems to be having some sever issues with it. Anyone have any ideas on where I can go next?
Also, iTunes was working great before I did the upgrade.1) Make sure your computer meets Snow Leopard technical specifications - http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575 This mostly means making sure it is an Intel Mac and has at least 1GB RAM (more is recommended).
2) Apple no longer carries 10.6 in its stores or online. Telephone Apple to purchase a Snow Leopard disc. In the USA: (800) 676-2775 (contact information for other countries: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57)
Alternatively you can buy from online retailers but anticipate paying much more than the original price which is the price still charged by Apple
3) Backing up your computer before upgrading is always a good idea.
4) After installing from the DVD, update your Snow Leopard installation using Software Update or manually downloading and installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v.1.1 - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399 -
Re-installing 10.1 after 'Tiger' install
Hello,
This problem involves a Mac G4 with Tiger installed at the moment[all software updates installed]
After a recent upgrade to Tiger, there exists now, a specific problem with PS-CS. Without going into too much detail, suffice it to say that the problem didn't exist with OS 10.1. This problem is seemingly irrepairable.... having been looked at by a tehnician and several other people. They have tried to resolve this issue with no luck.
It seems that this issue wasn't present with the OS 10.1[original OS with this mac].
Everything that can be done, has been done to try and resolve this issue, including deleting/removing PS-CS.
Problem:
I have tried to re-install 10.1, using the install disk and trying to boot into the DVD install disk but to no avail. I cannot access a way of formatting the main disk or deleting the partition in disk utilities, either.
Is it that one cannot re-install or ''go back'' to a previous version or is there another way that is safe?
TIA.
ChrisCornelius, I hadn't gone into that aspect of the[PhSop] problem at all in this post... I will give it a go though.
Problem:
there are seperate photographic sheets with 'images' and 'combinations of colours'. These are a standard which are used to co-ordinate and present a perspective [primarily of colours, but also textures represented in these pictures[skin-tone, etc.] between the printer and monitor[can't think of the word when the 2 are fixed in unison].
One of these sheets has images of 4 children filling the very lowest part of the page. With this install of PS, there is a presence of ''fishskin'' in the ''lighter coloured'' areas of some of the kids faces'...slightly shiney and opaque, almost like the printer forgot to colour in this area, but in a slightly fish-skin-like-way. It is a bit like over flash, but not as strong.
This/these sheet/s are templates for 'co-ordinating' the printer and monitor.
The technician I referred to has used as many means as he can to set this right but with no luck so far. The monitor has been ''spidered'' correctly [a device that looks like a spider and sits on top of the monitor face and in conjunction with the coloured sheets produce/provide for a [hopeful] match]. All drivers and utilities[within printer software] have been deployed to try and resolve this issue and all done correctly.
You said:
Are you saying that you that when you boot from your Tiger install disk holding down the "C" key and go to the Utilities menu and launch Disk Utility, that all other options are greyed out?
sorry if it's confused but it's not the Tiger, but the previous, original G4 OS X install copy I am having a problem with. [I will check out which version tomorrow and post it].
I can't start the install process ''at all'', no matter what way I try it...not able to use the erase in D.U in the present Tiger install, 'target disk'[dvd] or using 'C' at boot up.
Should one be able to go back to using a previous install disk/s, to a previous version in the first place? I mean there wouldn't be much point in installing an older version if one has the latest one.
But perhaps, by doing so, this may resolve the issue of ole fishy-skin. This problem wasn't present with the older original [previous] version of OS X.

Not able to install anything fully after upgrade to Snow Leopard
I haven't been able to install anything after upgrading to Snow Leopard yesterday. Anything program i do try to install just bouces on the dock
Try installing the update again from here
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1048
This is a fuller install, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update so it should overwrite any files that are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have applied it before.
Remember to Verify Disk before update and repair permissions after update from /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.

Install exits right after choosing install directory
Trying to install 2004Q2, July 2004, Rev. A of Java Studio Creator on Windows XP service pack 2, 1 gig memory, 8 gig free hard disk space.
Install quietly exits after I accept the default C:\Sun\Creator install directory. That directory gets created but is empty. Based on the install FAQ, tried copying the creator-2004q2-windows-en.exe to C:\temp, created creator-2004q2-windows-en.sb with is.debug=1 there, attempt install from there, same result - empty install directory. No log file present.
I really want to use this tool on a project that's coming up but my time window is closing quickly. Any suggestions?Check if the file name has any other typo. As I mentioned in the previous reply could you please try -is:log <logfile> command line option without '<' and '>' as follows ?
c:\temp> creator-2004q2-windows-en.exe -is:log your_log_file_name
You still need to have the creator-2004q2-windows-en.sp in that directory.
Thanks. -
Installing gcc-multilib after gcc installed.
Hey there,
I'm trying to install gcc-multilib on my 64 bit machine as I'm trying to compile some binaries for a 32 bit system so I'm trying to install the multilib version of gcc however when I go to install it it obviously conflicts with the gcc I currently have installed and in order to install it I'd need to remove gcc-libs which basically uninstalls a large majority of my system because everything relies on gcc-libs.
Sorry if this is the wrong area I just don't really know what to do.
ThanksAre you trying to remove gcc-libs manually rather than letting pacman do it as part of the transaction that replaces gcc with gcc-multilib? Because gcc-multilib should pull in gcc-libs-multilib which provides gcc-libs, so stuff depending on that should be fine.

Cant install creative Suite after deinstalling on other iMac (only 2 licences)
Hi. I rent creative Suite monthly, the license allowes to run it on 2 iMacs (its just not allowed to have it open at the same time). I deinstalled the Creative Suite on one of my two iMacs, and wanted to install it on a new iMac. But now there's an Error-Message, that I already use them on two iMacs. But i am sure, that my deinstallation was done properly. It seems like, the deinstallation never reached Adobe, so that my old iMac is still registered even after deinstalling. What is the problem?
Thanx for helping. If you contact Adobe Support directly they can help you work out the activation problem. Since it's a weekend, try the chat option.
