Can't reactivate icloud backup

Hi!
My iPad 2 3G WIFI was two weeks ago updated to iOS 5. iCloud backup worked without any errors.
I turned off a view apps, which shouldn't have to backup like my photos....so my backup was about 400MB great.
On Monday my backup grow to 1400MB, because the my photos backup were turn on, but I haven't turned them on.
So I tried to turn the photos backup off, but every time I get the following error message: "Backups for photos cannot be turned off at this time."
I tried it several times but it won't work....so I tried to to turn off the iCloud backup and turn it on, now i get since yesterday this message: "There was a problem enabling iCloud Backup." Ok this was not so good....so deleted my iCloud account on my iPad and reactivate it. But I can't reactivate the iCloud backup... I still
get the same error Message: "There was a problem enabling iCloud Backup.".
I'm absolutely confused...I don't now how to reactivate the backup....

After few days it worked out finally.

I can't select icloud backup on my iphone 5, i've got 4.5 gig of available storage and this just started 2 weeks ago, I've tried deleting a couple of apps, signing out, rebooting, all to no avail.  The button stays grayed out and will not let me select.  Any ideas on how to solve this?

  • I can't turn icloud backup on.  The off/on is grayed out.

How can I turn iCloud backup on my ipad?  The off/on is grayeed out.

First make sure you have icloud set up. Go to settings/icloud
    You can also try..
Make sure IOS is updated to latest version
(How to update your iOS device
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4623)
Reboot device by pressing both the home button and sleep/wake (power) buttons at the same time for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings  (or for network connection issues 'reset network settings').
(no media or data will be deleted from the device, this will only take a minute).

  • I changed my appleID, it worked fine but now I can not restore icloud backup in a new ipad (old appleid does not work and it is grey colored so I'm unable to change it)

Some months ago I changed my email address and so my appleID. Everything worked fine, but last week my ipad broke and when I tried to restore my icloud backup in my new ipad it does not work: it asks me for the password of the OLD appleID (it doesnt work); and in icloud configuration page the field for appleid is colored grey so I can not change it.
any clues? thank you in advance

My suggestion is to change apple id back. I know it is not something you want to hear, but there are suppose to be ways around it and usually they work, but not right now. I suspect that is consequences of Apple getting their servers ready for ios7. Normally in your situation - you should be able to get all your stuff back, but apps, and then you can sync those or download from icloud. But lately (last week) it does not seem to work normal way.

  • Had to restore iPhone, now can't do iCloud backup

I had to do a full restore on my iPhone 6. Backed up on iTunes on computer first, an an iCloud backup.
Did restore, from iTunes, set back up etc. I normally use iCloud for backups, I have 20Gb plan.
Now I tried to initiate an iCloud backup it says not enough space.
Says my iCloud photo library is 13.5Gb, next iPhone backup is 5.8Gb, so not enough space.
Before restore it was backing up fine, so presume that after restore it's "ID" or something?
    Anyone help I'm stuck....
    few notes...
iCloud photo library beta was on before and after restore
    Optimise iPhone storage is checked
    Last iCloud backup states 1.8Gb.
I think my iPhone after the restore has changed ID/device no/hash ID or something. I've just opened my bank app and it's required me to "register my device for banking". This previously was registered so my bank app had identified it as a new device and I had to go through the registration process again..

    Hi QwertyMan11,
Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
You may find these tips helpful if iCloud doesn't have enough storage space to create a new backup after you've restored your iPhone:
Get help creating an iCloud backup - Apple Support
I can't back up because there's not enough storage available.
If your iCloud storage reaches its maximum capacity, you can take any of these actions:
    Upgrade your iCloud storage plan.
    Create a smaller backup:
Select which apps to back up. Include only the apps that contain important data.
Delete unwanted photos and videos before backing up. You can also save the photos and videos to your computer before deleting them.
Turn off backup for Photo Library (or Camera Roll in iOS 7), especially if you already back up your photos to your computer. (My Photo Stream isn't a backup of your photos.)
Delete old messages from your device, especially messages with attachments. To delete a message, swipe over it, then tap Delete.
Delete items that you no longer need from iCloud. You can save them to your computer before deleting them. For example, you can:
Delete old backups, such as backups for devices you no longer have.
    Delete app data or documents.
Delete old email messages, especially messages with attachments.
    Sincerely,
    Jeremy

  • Can't access iCloud backup

My iCloud shows 4.8gb of storage taken for my iPhone backup.  However, I changed my password a week ago and it deleted all my contacts and whatnot.  Now when I plug my iPhone into iTunes or attempt to restore from iCloud, I can't access that backup at all.  It says none are available.  How can I get my data/information back?

You can see any of the content of the backup without restoring it to your device, and as you indicated, the only option in settings is to delete it.  It should contain your camera roll photos, which are included by default.  If they didn't restore, about all you can do is try restoring the backup again.

  • Can a previous icloud backup be retrieved?

Ios7. Was downloaded, iPad disabled due to pass code not entered correctly, when the iPad was restored, only the back up of the ios7  (1  day) was retrieved. Anyway to get older information?

Icloud actually stores up to three last backups here is from Apple article
"You can choose from up to three of the most recent backups associated with your iCloud account. Each backup shows the date and time the backup was created, as well as the name of the device that created the backup. Unless you want to restore an older backup, choose the most recent backup of the device you want to restore."
here is the link to that article
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4036
Here is what they say if you do not see more then one backup.
f the list of iCloud backups is empty or dimmed, consider these possibilities:
Your device may never have completed a successful backup to iCloud. Incomplete backups do not show a size or date and cannot be used to restore your device. Make sure that you have correctly followed theinstructions for backing up your iOS device to iCloud.
Your device may be using an earlier version of iOS than was used to create the backup. Update to the latest version of iOS, if necessary, then try restoring your device from iCloud again.
Your backup may have been created with a different iCloud account. When restoring your device from iCloud, the Setup Assistant allows you to tap Back to return to the iCloud sign-in step. If you have several iCloud accounts, sign in with each account until you find the account that can use your backup.
If you haven't backed up your iOS device to iCloud for 180 days or longer, Apple reserves the right to delete the backups associated with that device. Review the iCloud Terms and Conditions for more information.

  • TS3992 Can't Confirm iCloud backup

While I've no difficulty backing up my iPhone 4 and/or my iPad 3 to my desktop, I can't seem to back up either to the iCloud.  It's not that I get an error message.  Rather, iTunes tells me my last iCloud backup was in May and it's the end of June!  I've checked to see if I've got enough memory.  That seems fine.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

The following article(s) may help you.

Aghh, I see you've already looked there. Did you try all that was suggested, have you tried in another location (different network)

  • I had my iPad 2 replaced by Apple today. All my backup was iCloud and so proceeded to restore from iCloud backup point but couldn't proceed as the new iPad needed iOS 7. How can I get I get around this?

I had my iPad 2 replaced by Applestore today. On the new iPad I tried to restore from iCloud backup point but was told I was unable to do this as the new iPad needed to have the latest running system iOS 7 loaded. Is there a way I can do this so I can get my iCloud backup or do I need to go back to Applestore and get an iPad preloaded with iOS 7?

If you feel comfortable you can do the Update to iOS 7 yourself and after you have successfully done that... then Restore your iCloud Back Up.
If you are not comfortable in doing it yourself... Then go back to the Apple Store and get them to do it.
They will be Happy to assist you.
