Can't Reactivate - Podcast Blocked or Removed

I’ve been podcasting and publishing through iTunes for three years. Recently I started putting out some video podcasts to complement my audio stuff.
I was able to publish my feed successfully:
http://www.myobpod.com/video/rss.xml
http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=287432806
Everything was fine for a few weeks then I received an email from [email protected] telling me:
“The podcast located at the URL shown below has been blocked or removed from the iTunes directory as a result of technical problems with the feed.”
Unfortunately, it gave no indication whatsoever what these alleged technical problems were. We couldn’t find anything wrong, and the feed seems to validate OK. Though we hadn’t previously experienced validation or iTunes problems we nevertheless removed a few apostrophies from the shows’ descriptions in case they were causing the problem.
The email from itunesabuse went on to say:
“If you wish to reactivate your podcast in the iTunes directory, please troubleshoot your feed and check the functionality of each episode. To test your podcast, start iTunes, select Subscribe to Podcast from the Advanced menu, and enter your feed URL in the dialog box. If you can successfully subscribe to your podcast and listen to each of the episodes, you can reactivate your podcast by resubmitting the feed using the Submit a Podcast page, https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/publishPodcast.”
Testing the podcast, as suggested above, wporks. However, when I tried to resubmit/reactivate the podcast, following the instructions given, nothing has happened. I have tried this a number of times.
Elsewhere I have seen posts where people are told their podcast has already been submitted. This is not my experience. Instead I am thanked for submitting my podcast and am told it ‘will not immediately appear in the store’. However, it never appears (I have submitted another feed recently and that appeared in about 48 hours, this one has not reappeared after 1 week).
I am anxious to resolve this as soon as I can because if I have to switch my feed’s url then I’ll lose all the viewers I had through iTunes on the previous feed url.
Any and all help & suggestions much appreciated.
Thanks,
Guy

FeedValidator validates your feed but reports:
'Your feed appears to be encoded as "utf-8", but your server is reporting "US-ASCII"'
Apple Podcast Tech Specs says:
Please use UTF-8 encoding for your feed. Other encodings are not guaranteed to work in iTunes.
This could possibly be the source of your difficulty, and something you would have to take up with whoever runs your server.

  • After 16 hours, I still can't reactivate my iPhone 4s.

I spent 3 hours in an Apple Store last night, working with mutliple techs and managers.  I brought my cell in due to overheating.  The genius suggested I do a complete restore, to factory settings.  It seemed to load the operating system fine, but is now stuck on the activation screen.  We have tired multiple wifi networks and iTunes and I did the restore again, through iTunes this morning.  Still getting the same message, "Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes. If this problem persists, contact Apple Support.."  On iTunes, I get this error message, "Your request could not be processed. We're sorry, but there was an error processing your request. Please try again later".  I bought my phone from Apple, never messed with any features, didn't have many apps on it, etc. I spoke with Sprint Customer Service and their Technical Reps last night too.  Everybody seems to be as perlexed as I am.  Could there be a possibility, that Find my iPhone's Activation Lock, is preventing my cell from activating?  Should that feature been shut off, prior to the restore?  Is there anyway to shut it off now and see if activation will go through?

I am having my suggestion deleted by somebody, only trying to help, because I couldn't find any help here and stumped both Apple and Sprint Techs..... YES, Activation Lock, does prevent you from activating your own iPhone.  I worked on mine forever and had it looked at by many Apple Geniuses.  I removed my device from Find my iPhone and it activated perfectly!  Does make complete sense though.. Activation Lock does its job, so you just need to make sure Find my iPhone is completely off BEFORE doing a complete restore. It was very simple to add my device back, after completely the full backup.  If you did the restore, without turning off Find my iPhone, you still can get past the activation "road block", by removing your device on icloud.  Sincerely hope this information helps somebody and doesn't insult or frustrate anybody.

  • Can i use a blocked apple id after 8 hours of waiting?

Can i use a blocked apple id for i tunes purchasing after 8 hours of waiting.

This isn't a live chat forum, if you were thinking that it was. You post your question, providing as much detail as you can, and then wait for one of us, who are mostly your fellow users, to see and read your question and offer suggestions. Such a reply may not arrive for a couple of hours or more depending on your question, so you'll need to be patient. You're almost never going to get a reply only a minute after you first post.
As to your question, what do you mean by "blocked"? "Blocked" how? And what leads you to believe that if the Apple ID has been blocked or disabled that it would somehow reactivate after 8 hours? Were you told by Apple Support that it would?

  • 5800 Deleting Podcast Library to remove General Sy...

When I try to play Podcasts from my Podcast Library I receive a general system error. This happens when I try to play from any option eg "All episiodes", "by Title"  "by published date" etc.Podcasts title come up but selecting them leads to the general system error message.
I  can play downloaded podcasts from the "podcasting" section where I have downloaded them.
This thread tells how to delete Tracks and Album Art from Music Library but does not mention podcasts
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=topfaq&thread.id=106
Trying to delete through the option menu only gives the error message.
Any idea how to delete the Podcast Libray information?
Any other ideas how to solve this?
    Thanks

I had a similar problem - I had previously deleted podcasts (removed via mass storage mode - oops) that were still listed in the Music library>Podcasts that wouldn't go away. Trying to delete them via the phone gave a "General system error" warning.
    First I tried :
    @romainb
    >* Firstly, connect your phone to a PC via USB.
    >* Choose Data Transfer (a.k.a. Mass Storage). Do not select PC Suite because you won’t be >able to browse protected folders in PC Suite mode.
    >* Open Windows Explorer on your PC.
    >* Go to \private\101FFC31 on the phone’s folder.
    >* There, you should be able to find the mpxv1.mpd (for MP3) and pcv5.mpd (for AUDIO >PODCAST)
    >* Goto \private\101f8857\Cache
    >* Goto \private\101ffca9
    >* In all the 3 folders delete all the files Not the FOLDER
    >* Now refresh ur music library
Nothing changed or at least I've not yet found out what changed...
    Then I tried:
    @ XploitMachine
    >- Open Windows Explorer
    >- Open E:\Private folder
    >- Open 101ffca9 Folder
    >- Delete harvesterdb.dat file
    >- Delete the E:\Private\10281e17
    >- Disconnect phone from PC
    >- Turn device OFF then ON back again
except that I didn't turn the phone on/off (missed that bit) just opened the music library. Phone checked for new music and podcasts.... Yay! Everything back into it's proper place and no more phantom podcasts.
    Thank you!

  • Hi. Recently my iPad has been stolen I was wondering if I could give you the cereal code and try locate it or if you can wipe it or block it permanently so it cannot be used

Hi. Recently my iPad has been stolen I was wondering if I could give you the serial code and try locate it or if you can wipe it or block it permanently so it cannot be used

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
Unless you had Find My iPad enabled on it then there isn't any way to locate it. If you did have it enabled then you could try locating it either via http://icloud.com on a computer or Find My iPhone on another device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or Find My iPad disabled on it (as your tagline shows iOS 7 then it should be harder to remove from your account).
You've reported it to the police ? You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc., and if it was a cellular model then you should also contact your carrier.

  • How can I transfer podcasts from my iPod to my iTunes library?

I have what I believe are called "phantom podcasts" - there are 1022 podcasts on my iPod from KEXP Song of the Day. For some reason, these 1022 podcasts do not show up anywhere in my iTunes library, nor on my computer. I'd like to transfer them from my iPod to my MacBook so I can listen to them and delete whichever ones I dislike. This is taking up way too much space on my iPod.
I've tried creating a Smart Playlist per an online suggestion to no avail. They're nowhere to be found, except on my iPod.
    Thanks.

    Hello Lo-fiChick,
The KEXP Song of the Day podcast can be located and subscribed to in iTunes on your computer via the following link. Once subscribed, the podcasts can be downloaded to your computer and removed from your iPod.
    KEXP Song of the Day
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/kexp-song-of-the-day/id121393815?mt=2
To ease the process of downloading such a large number of episodes, you can adjust the podcast settings once subscribed to 'Keep: All Episodes' and 'Download: All Episodes.'

    Hello,
Probably you will see the message “Starting database” associated with the message you posted above. This may occur when SQL Server Express Edition is installed on a computer and databases have the “Auto Close” option set “On” (by default is “On” on Express
    Edition).
Set “Auto Close” off for all databases using the following article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms190654(v=sql.105).aspx
    Hope this helps.

  • Can I move podcast from my account to other's?

can I move podcast from my account to other's?
i.e. may it have 2 owners?

You're talking about an episode you've downloaded in someone else's podcast, and moving it to another user account on your Mac? You could simply subscribe to the podcast in the other account and download it again, but if you want to save the download time just drag the episode(s) to the Desktop, then place them in the Users/shared folder, then open the other user account and drag them from there to iTunes.
If this isn't what you are trying to do please specify exactly what it is.

  • Can not see assignment block conditions in rule policy

    Hi gurus,
I can't define any conditions in a new lead distribution rule. When I create a rule under a rule folder I can see the assignment blocks "Rule Details", "Actions" and "Preview", but I can't see the assignment block "Conditions" in order to define de conditions of the rule policy. How do I have to do to see this assignment block?
    Thanks and regards,
    Jesú

    Hi Jesús,
Seems strange because as soon as you click on enter after 'New' rule, all 3 assignment blocks should show up.
Could you please check whether the view has been included in the viewset correctly in the runtime repository editor of the underlying BSP component? For the standard it is usually the component CRM_ERMS_RULEM. The viewset is CRM_ERMS_RULEM/RuleDetailsViewSet  and the ViewArea " RuleDetailsConditions " should be included.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Nisha

Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates

  • I can't update podcasts after updating to 11.2

Widows 7 64bit. When I click the update button, things start normally for about 2 seconds then stalls. After about 3 minutes, I get a Windows message saying iTunes has stopped responding and closes iTunes. If I have task manager open while I try to update, it's obvious there's a memory leak. Memory usage gradually climbs up to about 3GB and then Windows intervenes. I've tried deleting SyncServices and even tried renaming the "Apple Computer" folder. The folder gets recreated but I still can't update podcasts. Ideas?

Any idea how to do this in Windows 8?  I can't find the "Repair" option in the Windows Control Panel
It should be Control Panel > Programs and Features > iTunes > Repair.

  • Can I sync podcasts and ITunesU. from one computer to another that both have the same acount.

Can I sync podcasts and ITunesU. from one computer to another that both have the same account.

No.  Time Machine won't get your boot camp partition back.  There are excellent utilities that move entire hard drive contents among hard drives such as SuperDuper! and CCC, but as far as I know they don't work with boot camp partition.  My suggestion: reinstall Mac OSX on your new Mac (you don't want to hold Option key to start it everytime anyway), partition it with boot camp exactly (or similarly) as you did to your previous Mac (install the same operating system, which should be one of the Microsoft Windows I assume).  Use Migration Assistant as kaz-k suggested to move all the stuff on the Mac partition of your previous Mac.  Reboot both your Macs from the boot camp partition - I assume they are all on Windows platform.  Now you have two computers on Windows platform.  Use Norton Ghost or similar tools to migrate all the stuff from your old machine to your new machine.  Hope this helps.  Backup all your data before such operation.  Good luck.

  • HT1689 How can I play podcasts on my iphone without using data?

How can I play podcasts on my iphone without using data?

I used to sync my podcasts to my phone individually, but found out that the Podcast app works better for me.  It continously downloads the podcasts (not really sure when, that's the only thing, when its downloading it may use data depending on where you are) and also deletes the ones i have listened to.  Hopefully that will help you out!

  • How can I download podcasts from new PC to my iPhone 4s?

The phone had been using an iMac iTunes. I've now gone to a PC. (Forced to a PC because FCPX won't support my new video camera.) On new itunes, I registered new computer, backed up iphone, synced iphone (I think) and downloaded purchased music to new computer. But ... I can't get podcasts. I can't transfer old itunes library because it's on a large external hard drive that is not FAT 31. I am willing to lose stuff on present iPhone (only one purchased app) and I can restore music, but how do I get the iphone and new computer together so I can download podcasts, new music, new apps, etc?

If you have synced with iTunes on your new computer, all iTunes content on your iPhone would have been erased first with a warning message provided beforehand indicating this would occur.
Do you have Sync Podcasts selected under the Podcasts tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes and are there any podcasts available in your iTunes library on your new PC?
