Can't read notes while recording voiceover

It seems Keynote only allows me to record while viewing the slideshow in "play" mode. I need to record it while looking at my notes on screen. Can it do that?

Can you read them again if you remove this file?

  • Can't make notes while reading

Hello, in my lectures I am used to make notes into my books. I could do the same on my pdf documents with my touchscreen. Now in this programm I couldn't find out how to make notes on my digital book. It is quite unpractical for me if I can't make notes directly on the screen when I am in my lectures...... Makes things really complycated for me. Can you help me? Thanks!

No, I don't think that it's possible with PDFs - there are other PDF apps that do allow you to e.g. GoodReader

  • Podcast conversion painfully slow; can't add chapters while recording?

I'm finding GB3's conversion to m4a very, very slow.
For the last six months, I was using GB2 to mix my audio, iTunes to convert to m4a, and PodcastAV to add chapters and pictures. The mixdown process takes the same amount of time (10 minutes for an hour long podcast), but GB3 takes over half an hour to convert the audio to 64 kbps audio! In comparison, the equivalent iTunes takes three or four minutes to do the same. Is GarageBand not using the Velocity Engine?
Additionally, if I make any changes to the chapter info in GB3, I have to go through this painful 40+ minute process once again. Tools like PodcastAV and ChapterToolMe can take existing m4a files and simply pass it through unchanged, only modifying the chapter info. Is there a way around this?
Also, is there a way to add podcast chapters while recording? When recording, I can't select the podcast track to the "add chapter" button...
Gotta say I'm disappointed so far.

OK, i have played a bit more with Iphoto and GarageBand. It is really the size of the pictures. The original size of my pictures is 2048x1536px. If i make the pictures much smaller, i can add them from the mediabrowser into the podcast.
What i now don't understand, why does it work if i drag them from the finder into garageband without editing the size? And what dimenson should the fotos have for optimal performance in the cast?

  • How to view presenter notes while recording slide show?

    Hi,
I am a new keynote user.
I was wondering if there is a way to view notes/presenter tools while recording the slideshow. Currently when I start recording the slideshow it jumps to the full-screen slideshow view and I am unable to see the notes.
    Thanks.

I think you will need to connect a second display.

  • Can I take notes while using iBooks?

I do a lot of research and would like to write notes while reading. Is there an add-on writing pad that could accept note taking while still displaying iBooks? Please say yes. :)

You can use the iBooks app own capabilities to add notes for books formatted as ".epub".
If what you are trying to annotate is an PDF file then iBooks cannot do this and you will have to use another app.

  • While recording voiceover, iMovie corrupted my project.

I was recording a voiceover, I get finished with the voiceover. I go to listen to it. I hear no audio. I notice the timelength is now 0 sec. I can play the video, but am unable to export the file. What happened and where did everything go?

Here's a note from my post.   If you were using a multi-camera sequence. . .
"There's a bug in Premiere that causes a project to hang when attempting to open it if the Multicamera monitor was left open at the last save of the project, and then the program was closed. The solution is to import your "hanging" project into a new project, and then remember to close the MC monitor before you save and exit the program. It's a pretty annoying gotcha..."
    Maybe?

  • How can I read, millions of records and write as *.csv file

I have to return some set of columns values(based on current date) from the database (could be million of record also) The dbms_output can accomodate only 20000 records. (I am retrieving thru a procedure using cursor).
I should write these values to a file with extn .csv (comma separated file) I thought of using a utl_file. But I heard there is some restriction on the number of records even in utl_file.
If so, what is the restriction. Is there any other way I can achive it? (BLOB or CLOB ??).
Please help me in solving this problem.
I have to write to .csv file, the values from the cursor I have concatinated with "," and now its returning the value to the screen (using dbms_output, temporarily) I have to redirect the output to .csv
and the .csv should be in some physical directory and I have to upload(ftp) the file from the directory to the website.
    Please help me out.

    Jimmy,
Make sure that utl_file is properly installed, make sure that the utl_file_dir parameter is set in the init.ora file and that the database has been re-started so that it will take effect, make sure that you have sufficient privileges granted directly, not through roles, including privileges to the file and directory that you are trying to write to, add the exception block below to your procedure to narrow down the source of the exception, then test again. If you still get an error, please post a cut and paste of the exact code that you run and any messages that you received.

  • Clicking issue IN recording (not while recording)

I am having this issue getting random clicks/static in my recordings. Not just during the recording/playback process; I checked the audio files themselves so I know it's not just a system thing.
I tried tinkering with the buffer size and low latency mode, but even still these clicks won't dissappear.  It is quite frustrating. We had some great guitar and vocal takes but then I go to listen and there are random-*** clicks all over the place...
I'm using Logic X, audio device is a Focusrite 18i8 (via USB2), Macbook Pro:  8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Any ideas as to what could be causing the problem?

Well, that's the smallest buffer size, and it is better avoided exactly because of these kind of crackling errors (a small buffer size can also overload Logic very quickly). Try 64, 128 or 256 when recording, and 512 or 1024 when mixing (I use 128 and 1024 respectively).
Higher buffer means more latency, but also less strain on the CPU.
And it is generally not a good idea to record to your system drive, since there's also system activity going on on that disk. If it's only one or two audio tracks, it should be allright, and if your system disk an SSD, it does not matter, but otherwise I strongly recommend an external FireWire disk to record to (not USB 2).
If a higher buffer size (128 or more) doesn't get rid of the clicking, then you should also contact Focusrite.

  • Can't read notes on PDF in preview

I can't believe I am having problems with Preview - but I am. I have inserted sticky notes on a PDF within preview and now when I re-open the PDF, I am unable to expand the note to read what was written? I've tried right clicking, opening up the side panel what am I missing!? I'm ready for any "duh" moment you can offer.
    Thanks!

Preview used to be able to add links to PDFs but it was one of the features silently taken away
To edit a PDF either try Illustrator if you have it, or  PDFPen Pro (I think they have a full featured demo). If you're ok with an online editor, I've used http://www.pdfescape.com/ quite a few times and it works a treat for a lot of things like adding links.

  • Can I reading notes on my ipod?

I am learning a new language and want to make my notes readable on the ipod screen. I have "enabled disk use" in the pref. settings in iTunes and put a copy of my notes in the "Notes" folder on the ipod. But when I click to view the notes they look like code (the screen lists the font I used, the font style/size etc. My actual notes are scattered through this mess) . Is there a special format that the file must be save as before I put it on the ipod? I have a 20g ipod, black & white screen, with "click wheel". I don't know the "generation" but the in the "about " section (under settings) it says "version 3.1.1" (I assume this is the software).
    G4, 1.4 GHZ   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

The files need to be in plain text format for the iPod to display them properly; the iPod will only display 1000 notes and the first ~4000 characters of any note. If your note contains non-Roman characters, you may need to declare it as UTF-8 or an encoding which fits your needs.

    1. Open the camera app.
    2. Move the slider from in the bottom right from photo to video.
    3. Begin recording your video.
    4. While your video is recording, tap the camera icon in the upper right to take a photo.
    5. You'll see the shutter close on your screen each time you snap a photo.
    6. Your photos will be saved to your camera roll.
    Edit:
Just noticed you have a 4S...iPhone 5 only, sorry.

  • How do I listen to my guitar while recording through my computer speakers?

Lost all of my audio settings when I upgraded to LION. Now I cannot hear my guitar while recording in GB. I can hear the audio during playback, but not while recording. I have a simple guitar USB cable.

  • Split Tracks While Recording w/MediaSource Play

I'm converting some cassettes using MediaSource Player. Can I split tracks while recording, i.e. record the whole cassette and then split that into individual tracks? I've done that with Microsoft Plus!, but can't seem to find that functionality with MediaSource. Also--if I want the absolute best quality recording of the cassettes, am I right in thinking I'd select WAV stereo, w/96.00 kHZ and 24 bits? The cassettes are li've recordings that I'd like to?have professionally mixed in a studio and then released as CD's, so I need the optimal "starting point" as far as the digital files are concerned. Thanks for any advice.

Yes, recording at 24/96 wave is the best that you can go with.
If you have one of the Creative sound cards, check whether you have the Creative Smart Recorder application. It has a split track function.

  • Reading iPhoto Libraries recorded under older version on CD

How can I read iPhoto Libraries recorded on CD-Rom under older versions of iPhoto. I have the latest version of iPhoto

When you insert the CDs in the optical drive and launch iPhoto doesn't the CD show up in the left hand pane in iPhoto under Shared?
It should.  If it does all you need to do is drag the photos/albums/events you want to import onto the Events icon above.
Those are not full libraries and must be viewed as shown above in the screenshot.  They can't be opened as a separate library with iPhoto.
