Just discovered that my new $3000 MacBook Pro can't read my Sony SxS 64 GB memory card (XDCAM camera). Another "victory" of form over function! Can someone suggest a workaround? The built-in SD slot is useless to me...

Get an external card reader that supports your card

I can't import from Sony XDCAM memory card to FCP 6.01 HD. Am using Macbook Pro, 2 gig of RAM. This is my first time NOT using tape. I can copy the files off the memory card onto an external drive (to free up the card for pro crew's next day's shoot), but can't import either to FCP. Do I need to convert the files in some way before FCP can read them? Need to fix this problem fast as the crew are off to Nepal for 2 week shoot.

First, I'm assuming that you're referring to the XDCAM EX. You'll need to install the FCP 6.0.2 upgrade, which contains the XDCAM EX codecs.
Second, You'll need to install the PDZK-P1 Transfer Application, and use that to import your EX clips into FCP. I just noticed that there is a new version available, 2.5.1 which is labeled specifically for Tiger/Leopard. I haven't tested this version yet, and will report back on any stability issues. We're currently running version 2.1.1, without many issues.

Make sure the RAM is rated for your vintage and model Mac, and states so from the link you buy it from.

Currently, the camera connection kit/iPad http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4101 can't read SDXC cards formatted ExFAT, and although not specified in the above link, 32GB cards are the max size. Next week when iOS 7 is released, maybe that will change.

Mega 180 card reader / sony duo 2gb card

Hi, can any one help? I am unable to get my Sony 2gb duo cad recognised by the mega 180 card reader, I have tried the live update option and reinstalled the drivers but to no avail, can any one point me in the ricght direction.
With a laptop I have I had to update the driver to get the card reader to recognise the lager size memory card. but have seached and searched for one for this card reader but no luck so far can anyone help please?

Thanks for this, I have been using a memory stick Duo adaptor, so in appearace it looks and acts like a conventional memory stick, in my other equipment
I have also tried using a 512mb Duo card and that also will not recognise, I have a SD card that goes into the same front slot and the 180 reads that one OK.
It is frustrating as the main reason for purchasing the 180 was to use the card reader to exchange info.
Is it possible that another reader will fit behind the panel?

N95 8GB Isnt reading/detecting any memory card.

My N95 isnt reading or noticing that a memory card is inserted, I tryed formating it it wouldnt let me, a message comes up saying "Drive not found". Even when i create a fold inside it a massage comes sayinf "Param error".
Clicking Open says empty.
I tryed to formating on the PC, but nothing changes, its still says the same thing.
I tryed 2 new memory cards and both gave me the same messages.
could I have some help pls.

I remind you that if you have something calling itself a Nokia N95 8GB that has a memory card slot, then it most certainly isn't a genuine Nokia device.
This being the case, all bets are off when it comes to hardware compatibility and you will receive no support here. All I can say is simply that the µSD card reader in your phone is most likely not an SDHC reader, meaning that it won't accept cards greater than 2GB.

G5 won't read my new memory cards now?

Ok, so after going through a whole mess of getting the wrong memory cards (see this post: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8321578), I ordered new ones (which fit in just fine), but now that I've inserted them, the computer isn't recognizing them.
Yes, I've got them all the way in so the latches close, fitting into the slots on the side of the card, and they look as far in as the ones that were already in the system. Yes, I installed a pair, label side up. And yes, I followed Apple's online manual about putting the first sets in the slots marked 1, and now this is my first set for a pair of (outside) slots marked 2.
I've done and checked all this, but still when I check my Memory in the system profiler, the slots come up as empty.
I also tried resetting the NV-Ram by doing that apple/option/o/f thing, since I saw it suggested in another threadin this forum. Still the same issue. Am I missing some obvious step (I did follow the online manual) or any ideas of what could be wrong?

I'd bet you bought high-density ram. The G5 cannot use high-density ram so if that is the case you will have to exchange it for low-density ram which can be somewhat hard to find these days.
The best bet is to buy from a company that lists/sells RAM by computer model rather than memory speed/type.

Can I use Restore From Memory Card to clone E72

I have two E72s, both have the exact same firmware 091.004. Can I use the "Back Up phone Memory" feature to transfer everything (apps + settings + data) from one E72 to another? I just want to switch to another E72 this way:
1. On the 1st E72, back up phone memory using File Manager.
2. Move the SIM card and memory card from the 1st E72 to the 2nd one.
3. On the 2nd E72, restore phone memory from the backup on the memory card using File Manager.
Will it allow me to clone everything (like an image) to another E72? Is it officially supported?
I tried once, some things were missing such as Opera Mini not found, Nokia Evolve theme not enabled, profile settings not applied etc.
Is there a way to clone everything to another E72?

Any possibility of upgrading Satellite M40 to read 2GB xD memory card?

According to the User's Manual, the M40 can only read xD-cards up to the size of 512MB. Now I have bought an Olympus camera, including a 2GB xD-card. Is there any way of upgrading the notebook to read this card or is it simply not possible?

I agree with Silas. There is a limitation. You can use only a 512MB cards. This is a hardware limitation
Did you try to use an external reader???
Many computer dealers offer very useful options for notebooks.
The external readers could be connected to the USB port and this should allows to use a 2GB xD card

Photoshop Elements 10 has suddenly stopped being able to read from camera memory card

For no apparent reason Photoshop Elements 10 can no longer read from my camera card reader. This happens both when I load the card in to my PC card reader or when I load to a card reader connected via USB.
I get the message "Elements Organiser cannot obtain files from this device. Please ensure that this deviCS is connected properly, or that the batter is charged and try again.
This happens despite the pictures loading and even the first one shows as a thumbnail. I can get around this by loading the photos in to Windows 7 and then bring them in to Elements from their file location.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Please disregard this. I tried everything but restarting my computer & when I did, it downloaded all my messages.
