Can't rearrange slides

I'm new to this and sort of learning as I go. I'm using the plain white theme and I'm duplicating the Masters I want to use and putting in a company logo on them and in some cases changing the text boxes and media placeholders so the various slide will work for us. I've made or changed 3 master slides.
Then I grabbed the master and slide it down to the lower window that says "slides" to add it to my slideshow. In one case I use the "new" button at the top left corner to add a slide. Then I put the text I want in the text boxes I made, add media and they look good. Except I made them out of order. I have 3 slides and the middle slide should be the first one.
So I try to grab it and move it up. Won't move. Again I'm in the lower box that says "slides" on in the Master slide area. I googled this and everything I've read says to grab the slide and move it up or down. Well none of mine will move.
Am I doing something wrong or is this some sort of glitch. I would hate to have to delete them (a lot of work into them so far) and then recreate in the right order but why won't any of my slide allow me to rearrange their order?

A blue line with arrow willl show if you are able to click and drag properly.
Try the light table view; View > Light Table and click and drag the slides there.

Here's what I did to generate a slide show with Ken Burns effect on the iPad...with the exact same slide order I created on the iMac. I have iOS 5.5 and iPhoto App on New iPad, and iPhoto 11 on iMac.
In iPhoto for the Mac, create a new Album and give it the name of your Slide Show. Drag or import the photos you want into the album. Rearrange the order of the album photos as desired. Do this by selecting Manual Sort under View/Sort Photos or simply start dragging thumbnails to the places you want them (the sort method will automatically change to Manual).
When you have the order you want, shut down iPhoto on the Mac to make sure iPhoto's database gets updated with the new photos and their order.
Restart iPhoto and go to File/Export on the top menu. Select File Export at the top left of the Export window. Set JPEG quality to Max, Size to Full Size, and File Name to Album Name and Number. Set Subfolder Format to None.
Click Export to bring up what looks like the Finder. Create an empty folder on your hard drive under Pictures and give it the name of your slide show. Click on the new folder and then click OK at the bottom right of the Finder-like window. The new folder will contain JPEG files with file names in the form, Album Name - 001.jpeg, Album Name - 002.jpeg, etc. There will also be an iPOD Photo Cache folder. Click at the top of the Name column to order files by file name. 001 will be your first slide, 002 your second, etc.
Now start up iTunes. You are going to force the Mac to sync these new photos with the iPad. Click on your iPad device in the list at the left. Now click on the Photo button at top right. Make sure the Sync Photos check box at top is checked, then select Choose Folder... from the list at right. In the Finder-like window that opens, select the folder where your slides are. Make sure that All Folders is checked, then select Open at the bottom right.
Now click Sync at bottom right. The slides will be copied to your iPad. Both the Photos app and the iPhoto app will properly handle the slide order, and the Ken Burns effect is available using the iPhoto app.
I ran across this problem in preparing a Ken Burns slide show for a wedding. Drove me nuts for a week why the order changes when syncing an iPhoto album from iMac to iPad. But this worked and gave me several options. I plan to use the digital AV adapter for iPad and show slides on a large screen TV using HDMI connection from iPad to TV. TV essentially acts as an external monitor for the iPad.

Thanks to a Youtube video, I did find a way to rearrange photos in our Photo App, but it requires making one or more of your own albums. You still can't rearrange photos inside of the albums that you have sync-ed from iTunes. Once you make a new Album, the iPad will automatically ask you which of the photos you want to add to this new album. Once you complete this process, view the photos in the new album...then select the Edit button in the upper right that looks like a box with an arrow coming out of it. Now just touch a photo and pause for a second. It will enlarge slightly and you can now slide it around. Click DONE in the upper right when you are finished.
Another way of viewing photos in a custom order involves using Dropbox. Place photos in your "Favorites" area and you can reorder to your heart's content. I know this has nothing to do with the sync-ed photos, but it is another method....
In the end we are still stuck with whatever order iTunes places the photos in our sync-ed Albums.

Control (right) - click on the photo in the frame and select Fit to Frame Size in the contextual menu.

Not on my document. I have a 7 page document open. The "flashing vertical bar" is at the top of page 3. I have the thumbnail view showing. I click page break and two blank pages are added to the end of my document. I have to scrool thru the pages to see that the 2 pages were added as they do not appear in the layout view... I'm not sure if it is inserting a "section" as it adds two blank pages.. But I am clicking on "INSERT PAGE BREAK".. So guess there are still a lot of bugs to fix..

In theory it would be possible to 'record and play back' the page numbers using a folder-level script, but it's far from trivial. You would have to use the doc.movePage() function - presumably driven by a dialog box - to do the page shuffling so there was a way to track what was being done, then swap the page 'labels' of the two affected pages. That's where it gets messy.
We have functions in the JSAPI which can read and write the page label, but they don't do things in a logical way. The 'getPageLabel()' function simply returns a string, but the 'setPageLabel()' method expects to be told the numbering scheme, prefix, etc. You'd have to parse the string and work out what scheme it was implementing.

Tiled vi pane backgrounds can cause slow slider control updating

In diagnosing a slow responding slider control I found that the problem was having selected a Pane background image that was set to Brushed Metal and Tiled.
It turns out that it was the tiled setting that caused the slowdown (which was very pronounced). It may not be commonly known, but if you right click on a vi pane scroll bar you
have a right click menu that has the option of setting the background image jpg.

Hmm, yes, it's actually pretty noticeable even all you have on the front panel is a slide control (you can see the slider trailing the mouse pointer when you move it up and down). It also seems to be specific to the metal brushed theme and doesn't happen when other backgrounds are tiled...
Let me do some more testing here...

JJMack covers some possibilities, predicated on the embedded player in your Web site.
You might want to look at another pair of Adobe programs, that work well together: Adobe Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements. They are available in a bundle, and, if you do not have Photoshop Extended (up through CS 5.5), or Ps CS 6, or Ps CC, they cost MUCH less.
One can create the SlideShow in the Organizer (sort of like Bridge, but with some differences), then can Send to Premiere Elements for final editing, such as the addition of Narration, or a Soundtrack. From PrE, one can then output to many, many different formats for linking to the player on the Web site.
Now, if you have Ps Extended, Ps CS 6, or Ps CC already, you have video-editing capabilities, but some of the output options (and even Import options), will be limited.
If searching for a program (or bundle of programs), then the Elements duo will do exactly what you need. Also, both of those programs have their own, very active forums, so you will have two communities to offer you support.

Why can't I slide all the email addresses from an email to a group in my Address Boob. I am shocked that this is not easily possible.

In addition to the suggestions, [Mails Scripts|http://homepage.mac.com/aamann/Mail_Scripts.html] has an applescript that will collect all the addresses in an email and give you the option to select a subset and save to a group or make a new group.

Can't rearrange apps in itunes

Just installed ios7 and can't rearrange my apps on my iPhone or iPad Mini. Can rearrange pages and add pages, but can't delete an empty page.

In iTunes, plug your iphone in, go to "apps" and you will see however many pages of apps you have on your phone as they appear on your phone. Double click on the page in iTunes and it will become larger.

Try doing a Dock restart using the following Terminal command:
killall Dock
Log out/in and test. If that doesn’t work, you need to look in your user Library/Applications Support/Dock for the .db. Use the Finder “Go To Folder” command. Enter ~/Library/Applications Support/Dock. Move the .db to your desktop.
Then try a dock reset.
Applications/Utilities/Terminal enter the command
killall Dock
Log out/in test. If it works okay, delete the .db from the desktop.
If the Dock is the same, return the .db to where you got them from, overwriting the newer ones.
