Can't Receive POP3 eMail

I can send, but can't receive. I've checked the settings ten times. I even got tech support on the phone, after waiting an hour and a half, then got disconnected. Now they are not even accepting any new calls

Hi.  While trying to get my 700p to work with chattermail and yahoo (still won't)  I found out the pop server names at yahoo had recently been changed.  Check which server names you're using and what Yahoo says they should be.  If you get yours working again, would you mind telling me your settings.  I still can only send mail and not receive it.  -Malcolm

    If you don't know your password, don't know your security questions and don't have a rescue address or don't receive a reset email, you should contact AppleCare who will initially try to assist you with a reset email or if unsuccessful will pass you to the security team to reset your security questions for you.
    If you are in a region that doesn't have international telephone support try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support.

    I'm assuming that you only use Yahoo mail on the web and not through a mail client, such as Outlook or Thunderbird?
    Also, make sure all of your Yahoo emails are going directly to the Yahoo inbox and not to sub folders or junk folders. Only the inbox will be delivered to your BlackBerry.

    Are you able to receive any mail at all? If not, make sure that all of your information for mail is accurate in settings again. if you still have nothing, go to your email through safari. (example: www.yahoo.com) If you do not see the emails here either, it is a problem with the password reset server not your mail app.

    If the old ID is yours, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • SERIOUS Problem with 10.5.5 upgrade and receiving POP3 emails their

    I upgraded to 10.5.5 last night. I am now unable to POP my POP3 email messages from my Network Solutions account. I have talked extensively to Networks Solutions, and I am convinced it's not their problem. I AM able to retrieve the messages using Outlook 2003 on XP. I AM able to retrieve these messages on my other Mac using 10.5.4. This is pretty strong evidence that it's some sort of an issue with Mail in 10.5.5. Note I can send email via smtp fine.

    I'm getting the same problem - Mail hangs while fetching new email - usually hangs on the last email. This happened while running 10.5.4 and the 10.5.5 update didn't help.
    Nor did vacuuming the Envelope Index or removing them and rebuilding.

    After setting up your account - power off your phone and power it back on and see if you receive any emails.
    For outgoing mail depending on what account your using, check in the mail settings and see if you need to enter a password for your outgoing mail server, - same password as your incoming mail.

    How to verify the primary email address for your Apple ID
    When you first create an Apple ID (using your email address) a verification email is sent to that address. If you sign in to your Apple ID from the link in that email, the email address is verified as the primary email address for your Apple ID. You can also resend the email verification if the email address is not verified:
    Sign in to My Apple ID to manage your account information.
    Click Resend under Primary Email Address.
    Verify your changes by following the link in the email you receive from Apple, then signing back in to your account.

    I posted this in someone else's question, but it answers the same problem.  I just discovered this last night, so I'm hoping I can help other folks having the same issue!!   
    Question for you... do you use Outlook to retrieve your emails on a desktop PC?  If so, then you're probably clearing the email server before your Treo can ping it & get your emails.  I finally discovered this on my own after fighting with it for about 4 weeks.  I use Outlook 2007, but would assume the path is somewhat the same for previous versions.  Try this:
    In Outlook, go to: Tools > Account Settings .. click on your email account & click "Change" .. click the "More Settings" button .. go to the Advanced tab .. click the button that says "Leave a copy of messages on the server", and then set the next option to "Remove from server after 2 days".
    That did it for me.  Hope it works for you!!
