Can't receive reply!

Hi, I bought the credit, sent the message successfully, but I can't receive the reply! What can I do to solve this problem?! Thanks a lot.

This problem in Mail is usually caused by some Launch Services cache or preferences corruption that affects the built-in spell checker. The following article describes how to manually reset Launch Services — the notes at the bottom of the article also provide information about the side effects of deleting each of the files involved:
Resetting Launch Services
If you prefer using a cache cleaning utility instead of following the manual procedure described in the previous article, take a look at this other article for general troubleshooting and cache-cleaning procedures. Actually, you should also verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described there:
Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption
The most appropriate utility for this particular problem probably is Tiger Cache Cleaner, but you may also want to consider other utilities, such as OnyX, or Cache Out X, which are free. Whatever utility you choose, be sure to read this first:
Side effects of System cache cleaning
As an example, this is how you should proceed with OnyX:
1. Quit all applications.
2. Launch OnyX and enter your administrator password.
3. Go to Maintenance > Reset and check LaunchServices database.
4. Un-check any other pre-checked options.
5. Click the Execute button.
6. Restart the computer.

• Can no longer reply to any emails !?

I am having a problem with Mail in that I can no longer reply to any email. Whenever I click reply I just get the spinning beach ball and then have to force quit Mail. This happens on any email I recieve ??
I can still download and send new emails okay, this only happens when I click reply to respond to an email.
I have repaired permissions and verified my disk several times, and each time no erros are reported ??
The only things that have changed recently is that I have installed an Airport Extremem replacing my old Netgear wireless router, and have downloaded the latest security patch and 10.4.10 update ??
Any ideas would be greatly received.
Thanks
-Mic

What type of mail account is this (POP, IMAP, .Mac)? If IMAP or .Mac, what are your Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors > Drafts settings?
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list. Leave checked (enabled) only the port configuration needed to connect to Internet and Built-in Ethernet (in that order if not the same), uncheck (disable) the rest of network port configurations (Parallels in particular, if you have that installed) and see whether that helps — if it doesn’t, turn ON again the ones you want enabled.

• Can't receive from external mail

I has look through the forum but unable to find a solution to my problem, so I hope someone here can help.
I just upgrade one of our server from Tiger 10.4.11 to Leopard Server 10.5.5, now we only can send and receive inside our lan, but only can send, can't receive from outside our lan.
As far as I can tell all our MX, and PTR are fine and we are not in any of the RBL.
I think the problem might have something to do with NAT, but not sure where to check.

• I can't receive International SMS... Why???

Here's my story,
I've been sending my friends SMS in other countries (Australia & Indonesia), but I never got a reply from them. Turns out that they got the SMS, but it is my phone that can't receive their SMS.
I can do domestic SMS, it works fine, but not international.
I've restored the phone, reset everything, I even called AT&T, they tested, and it works fine. Well, since we're in the same country (again, domestic SMS works fine).
Do you guys have any idea on how to fix it?
Thanks,
TRD

I had this exact same problem while in Africa, I couldn't receive any SMS from Indonesia but could receive them from other countries. After much research and head scratching, we discovered that it's the Indonesian carrier that caused the problem. I don't recall which carrier was involved but you can ask the sender to try it with a different phone/carrier to see if there's anything wrong with your end.

• After the latest iOS 5.0.1 upgrade I can't receive sms (only iMessage)

After the latest iOS 5.0.1 upgrade on my iPhone 4s (carrier is AT&T) I can't receive sms. I can send messages, I assume they are all going through iMessage, but unless someone is using iMessage, I dont' receive a reply. I spent 2 hours on the phone with AT&T and they said its an issue with the latest patch and that apple is working on it. Here is what we did:
1. Soft reset
2. Reset network connection
3. Deleted all messages and closed Messages app
4. Reactivated the phone
5. AT&T checked all the settings on their end
6. Restored the phone to factory settings and restored from back-up
Is anyone else having this problem? And more importantly has anyone been able to fix it? And if so, how?

Try this... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the Phone Off...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
Turn the Phone On...

• Can't get reply from queue

Hi Everyone,
I'm trying to implement a messaging service with JMS, using glassfish v2.x as my queuing server.
I have created a requester class (sending messages and waiting for reply) and a replier class (receive messages and reply). I've also configured one connectionFactory, and 2 queues (one for request and one for reply) in glassfish.
Currently I can send a message the replier gets it and replies however the requester is unable to get the reply. The requester uses a synchronous receiver so it just blocks at the receive() method. I'm sure that I have the relevant queues and correlation ids right, but the requester just still can't find any replies.
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.
How I call the requester
public class MsgBoxProducer {
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception{
String REQ_CONN = "jms/Warehouse_connection";
String REQ_QUEUE = "jms/Warehouse_Request_Queue";
String RPLY_QUEUE = "jms/Warehouse_Reply_Queue";
Requestor requestor = new Requestor(REQ_CONN,REQ_QUEUE,RPLY_QUEUE);
try{
for (int i = 0; i < 1; i++) {
String msg = "Delivery:message" + (i + 1);
System.out.println("Sending message: " + msg);
requestor.sendMessage(msg);
String reply = requestor.receiveReply();
System.out.println("Received reply: " + reply);
Thread.sleep(10);
}finally{
requestor.closeConn();
System.exit(0);
}How I call the Replier

Yes, I called it in the Warehouse class which is acting as the replier.
What I can see now is that the replier replied and has put the reply message in the reply queue,
but the requester can't see the reply.
I'm just wondering if the receive() function only picks up messages that have the correct correlation ID or does it pick up any replies?
Could that have impacted the receive() function?
public class Warehouse {
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception{
String REQ_CONN  = "jms/Warehouse_connection";
String REQ_QUEUE = "jms/Warehouse_Request_Queue";
Replier replier = new Replier(REQ_CONN,REQ_QUEUE);
replier.startReplier(); // <----------------------------- called here
The startReplier function is like this
public void startReplier() {
MessageListener listener = this;
try {
requestConsumer.setMessageListener(listener);
conn.start();
catch (JMSException e) {
System.out.println("Failed to start replier: " + e.getMessage());

• Can I receive multiple calls on a skype number at ...

I am trying to work out if a skype number is working for our business.
If a call is coming in and is taken via skype by a staff member, can we receive another call? Basically having multiple calls to one skype number at the same time, picked up by different staff members via skype.
If this is not possible, what other options are there?

Please review our Skype Fair Usage Policy

Your account may get suspended for package abuse. Once the system detected that your account is abusing any of our subscriptions such as Skype Number, you will receive an email telling you that your account has been suspended for subscription abuse. You can continue to make free Skype calls and send instant messages. However, you will be unable to continue using paid products such as Skype Credit, subscriptions and Skype Premium.
The suspension of your access to paid products is permanent and you will be unable to transfer any existing products to a new account or receive a refund.

• Can't receive email .MAC, IMAP or POP

My receive email stopped working, all of a sudden. I have checked all the setup parameters, and they are right. I even tried to create duplicate accounts, one for .MAC, one for IMAP, and one for POP. They all fail to receive email from my @mac.com email account. Web mail works fine, and I can send email to myself from my mac.com email, or my sbcglobal.net email, but it only shows up in web mail not in the mail client.
Befuddled

"What does "stopped working" mean? "
Thank you for the reply, stopped working means tht I can't receive email. Turns out, that this morning, after 24 hours, it started working agiain. I tried everything yesterday to receive email, and nothing would work, including deleting the account on the client and reentering it. Today, I tried entering it again, and wonderful of wonderfuls, it works fine. My only guess, is tht whatever server my mail is on, wouldn't connect.
Oh, well, thanks,
Tom

• Verizon Moto G Can't Receive Messages From Non-Verizon Phones

I recently had my Moto G activated with a ported number from another carrier. I can make and receive calls, but can only send out text messages. I can only receive texts from friends who also have Verizon. I have dialed *228 numerous times and contacted Customer Support via chat, but to no avail. I still can't receive text messages. Please help!!

Thank you Snn5. I was thinking it may have to do with the port process. Hopefully it will resolve itself in the next day or two. I appreciate your quick reply and advice.

• Why can't I reply to my emails

I receive mails but can no longer reply as I can't see the reply icon

Two things can be happening here that I have seen in the past. The icon is not rendering because the cache is corrupt or an add on is affecting it.
In order to troubleshoot this, please try to read your mail in a new private window. This will tell you if it is the cache.
Please also make sure that all of your addons are up to date in the about:addons page. The flash plugin is out with version 15 and Firefox version 33.1.1. Please update these as well to see if it is a compatibility issue.

• Changed from 3GS to 3G. Now I can't receive iMessages.

Hey, I recently lost my iPhone 3GS, and I'm now using a 3G that I found on ebay. As it turns out, I can't receive iMessages from iPhones which I used to iMessage with. This means I can't receive texts at all from these numbers.
I've already tried unregistering the phone, but it didn't help? Anybody know what I can do?
Thanks.

Hey, thanks for replying.
I'm not necessarily looking for the iMessage feature, just to be able to recieve SMS messages instead from these iPhone users. Is this possible? Maybe it's something that can be done on their end?
Apparently it comes up on my friends' phones that the iMessage has sent, even though I can't receive it.

Do not delete the old account yet. sign up for an iCloud account if you haven't.
I understand .mac mail will still come through. Do not delete the old account yet.
You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
•          Server name: imap.mail.me.com
•          SSL Required: Yes
•          Port: 993
• Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
•          Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
•          Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
•          SSL Required: Yes
•          Port: 587
•          SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
• Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
•          Password: Your iCloud password
Also, you must upgrade your password to meet the new criteria: 8 characters, including upper and lower case and numbers. If you have an older password that does not meet these criteria, when you try to setup mail on your mac, using all of the IMAP criteria listed above, it will still give a server error message. Go to http://appleid.apple.com then follow directions to change your password, then go back to setting up your mail using the IMAP instructions above.
Thanks to dpepper...

I can not send email from my iPad . Have been using it for over a year, all of a sudden I can only receive email. I have a wifi connection in my home and have a A T &T cellular data plan?

I have a 1st gen iPhone that I just updated the software to 2.0.2
Now whenever I press the mail icon it goes to the mail app for about 4 seconds, does nothing, no loading of folders, old messages, nothing.
Then it reverts back to the home screen. Tried restarting, haven't tried restoring, thought I'd look here first.
Anyone???
