Can't reconnect wireless keyboard

Tonight I'm coming home, and my Air has lost connection with its wireless keyboard.
I tried to reconnect, impossible.
I changed the batteries, still no connection.
The keyboard works, since I can see the light when I press the on/off button, and the light for the 'caps lock'....but just can't reconnect, the Air doesn't see it.
Help ?
Laurent

Try pairing it through System Preferences > Bluetooth > hit the "+" below the list on the left. Make sure your keyboard is in discovery mode.
Here is info on the keyboard and the light indicators:
About the Indicator Light
The LED on your Apple Wireless Keyboard functions as a battery indicator and a status light. When you first turn on your keyboard, the light glows steadily for 5 seconds, indicating the batteries are good. After 5 seconds, if your keyboard isn’t paired with your Mac, the light begins to blink indicating your keyboard is in discovery mode and ready to pair with your Mac (pairing means your keyboard and Mac are connected wirelessly and ready to communicate with each other).
If you don’t pair your keyboard with your Mac within 3 minutes, the indicator light and keyboard turn off to preserve battery life. Push and release the On/off (®) switch to turn your keyboard on again, allowing you to pair it with your Mac (see page 5).
Once you successfully pair your keyboard with your Mac, the indicator light glows steadily for 3 seconds, and then turns off. If you push the On/ off (®) switch and the light doesn’t illuminate, you may need new or charged batteries.

  • Help! - Can't sync Wireless Keyboard - Catch 22

Hi, my old wireless keyboard stopped working consistently, so I replaced it with a new one. The problem is that I can't log onto my iMac with either keyboard: the old one doesn't work (i.e. not all the keys are working--at least not the ones I need to enter my password), and the new one doesn't work yet because I can't log onto the iMac to sync it up. Catch 22. Batteries are new. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Because I didn't get a response I ended up buying a wired keyboard. So I'm all set--the answer is that if your wireless keyboard ceases to function and you've found yourself logged out of your iMac, don't assume that getting a replacement wireless keyboard will somehow magically solve your issue. It doesn't. There is no way to log on unless you have a wired keyboard. I have one now and was able to sync up my wireless.

  • Can the apple wireless keyboard work with Apple TV

I just set up my ATV and was wondering if it can recognize an apple wireless keyboard. If so, how would I set that up?

No, this is not currently possible.
If you have an iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad you could use Apple's Remote app.

  • Hello I wanted to know if I can use my wireless apple mouse own my iPad 2 now that I know I can use my wireless keyboard.

hello I wanted to know if I can use my wireless mouse with my iPad 2 . Just curious.?

Yes, you can pair up your wireless Bluetooth mouse as well.  Most people find that using the iPad touch screen is easier, however.

  • Can not locate wireless keyboard for my iPad

My wireless keyboard for my ipad is no longer displayed on the screen that the Bluetooth app is.
    I have tried everything.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

Do you mean that when you go into Settings > Bluetooth > your wireless keyboard is not listed under devices?
    If so:
make sure your keyboard is charged.
turn your keyboard off,  reset your iPad, turn the keyboard back on, see if it shows up, put it in discovery mode see if it shows up
    to reset your iPad:
Hold both the Home button and the Power button down for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
Let go promptly when it appears.
Wait 30 seconds or so for your iPad to restart.
No information or settings will be lost.

  • HT5633 Apple TV 5.2 can't find wireless keyboard

    Hi,
I have a 2011 iMac with wireless keyboard, magic mouse and magic trackpad and I just bought Apple TV yesterday. I have repeatedly tried to pair my keyboard with my Apple TV using bluetooth but Apple TV never finds my keyboard, the screen just has the spinning circle with the words "searching". I have brought my keyboard into close proximity to the Apple TV, just in case it was too far away, with no change.
My keyboard, trackpad and mouse are all discoverable on my iMac and still nothing.
The batteries are not old, the keyboard is set to "discoverable" and my iMac connects with Apple TV with no issues, so I cannot for the life of me figure out what is preventing my Apple TV from recognising that there is a compatable bluetooth device available.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as it's an absolute PITA to use the remote to enter passwords etc.
    TIA
    Emma

I was having the same issue.  I turned bluetooth OFF on all devices in the room including my Macbook and my iPhone5.  The ATV3 then successfully paired with my Apple Wireless Keyboard.  I hope this helps. Good luck.

  • Computer can't recognize wireless keyboard

When I turned the computer on today, bluetooth just suddenly won't recognize my keyboard.
I tried Bluetooth Keyboard Assistant, and it says "No keyboards have been found, please make sure keyboard is "discoverable".
I just replace the battery, nothing changed.
I restarted and restarted and kept getting the same results (the machine searches for the device and returns with a "no keyboards found, make sure keyboard is discoverable".
This Mac and keyboard is new, just over 2 months old.
My bluetooth mouse is working fine and appears on the bluetooth devices list.
Just somehow the keyboard mysteriously disappeared.
Anyone have a clue what's happening?

I tried that. If I repeat this process enough sometimes bluetooth finds it, but when I type the passkey no., it cycles through the same "please make sure your keyboard is discoverable".
I'm searching the forums and it appears this Mac wireless keyboard/bluetooth is a chronic problem.
Indeed, this Mac bluetooth is *t .

  • Can't get wireless keyboard to work in Windows 7 under boot camp

I have removed the keyboard in OS X, and when I try to get it to pair it will show up and ask me to enter a string of numbers and hit enter, and when I do, it says it is working, but the keyboard itself stays in discovery mode (blinking light) and doesn't work.
I have followed every guide I can find with no success. Is there anything I have to do after it is 'paired' to be able to actually get the keyboard to realize that it is paired and not automatically go into discovery mode?

This problem is not a problem with Windows or Apple. It has to do with when the updates are applied to Windows boot camp. The way to fix this is as follows. First click on the bluetooth icon from the Windows start page. Then click show bluetooth items. From this window click add a new device. When the device appears double click on the icon for the device. A window should appear that at the top says general and other. Click on the other tab and another window comes up with a small box in it. Check the box and Windows will search and install the exact, correct drivers for the device. Now the device will pair and work fine.

  • MacBook Air can not reconnect wirelessly to airport extreme with yosemite

I have the latest version of Yosemite (10.10.1), and have upgraded the Airport firmware. Using MacBookAir, mid 2011 version, I have trouble connecting finder to the network drive on Airport. I have to cycle wireless on/off to access. But, when using "save as" from Safari, it will not connect at all. It may connect after a shut down and start up, but if it goes into sleep mode or screen save, it will not connect at all (save as).
All this worked just fine before Yosemite, and works on my iMac w/o Yosemite too.
I think this might be a systemic Yosemite issue, but don't know how to connect with the AppleSupport Team for that product.
Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Can't get wireless keyboard to pair with iPad2

Just got my keyboard tonight and can't get it to pair with my iPad2. Tried several times and even changed batteries. Any suggestions?

Is the blue tooth turned on?
    Settings, general and bluetooth.
Once that is turned on it should look for devices around. Follow the instructions on your keyboard to put it into discoverable mode and see if the iPad sees it.
    I'm presuming it's a bluetooth keyboard.

  • I keep getting a "can't find a wireless keyboard" message at start up, but I am using a usb keyboard.

I have an imac and at start up I get an error message saying "can't find wireless keyboard" and it tries looking for one via bluetooth.  Unfortunately I only have a usb keyboard, which doesn't seem to register.  I can't type my log in details in so I can't use my computer.  I have tried changing the usb port the keyboard is plugged in to, I have restarted, and I have tried an SMC re-boot.  The keyboard does work on another computer (the one I'm writing on), but I can't get it to register on the imac.  Any suggestions?

iMac from 2008 and I am pretty sure its 10.6.8, but not positive because now the computer won't even get past the grey apple screen.

  • Apple wireless keyboard and iPod Touch 4th gen. compatibility?

Can Apple's wireless keyboard work using an ipod touch 4th gen? Both are bluetooth compatible and there's a pages app for iPod/iPhone? Just curious.....

I've found the answer - funny enough on Bose's website.
There is a compatibility chart here http://www.bose.co.uk/GB/en/pop-up/PopupiPod_compatibilitychart.jsp
So the 4th Gen Touch DOES work fine with the Original SoundDock
