Can't record Acrobat 6 editing

I'm using Captivate 3 to record a document work flow (using
web-based "Documentum" software). At one point the user clicks a
link within Internet Explorer to launch Acrobat 6 Pro in order to
put comments on a file. Clicking the link opens another IE window
with the PDF inside (and all the appropriate tool bars available).
When I attempt to record these steps, the new IE window opens and
then ... nothing. All I get is an "about:blank" screen.
Anyone run into this problem?
Edit: I'm able to make the recording in Captivate 2.

What operating system? As I understand what you are saying, it worked fine until the scan and it has not worked since, or have you made some major systems changes since the scan?

  • How can I record and edit using an electronic drum kit to midi on a windows based PC (That I will eventually use in Garageband)?

    Hi there
I know this isnt really a Garagband question and possibly a little off GB topic, but in the end I will be using the midi file in Garageband so it kind of is
I'm new to Midi recording so please bare with me.
I am looking to do the following.
Have my drummer record from his Session Pro DD505 electronic drum kit (which has a midi out) into his windows based computer via midi (He owns a usb to midi cable), so that he can then email me the midi file, so I can add it to a song in Garageband on my Mac. I will then choose the sound of the drum kit myself from Garageband.
He needs to be able to correct any errors he has made in the midi file before emailing it me, either by re-recording sections or by moving the incorrect drum notes to the correct beat.
I guess he would need to be able to hear the song that he is playing along to, and possibly have a click track playing at the same time.
So I guess what I am looking for is some FREE windows software to be able to record midi drum files into, that can also be used to edit the midi file after. A separate free piece of software could also be used to edit the drum midi files instead though.
I know that I can correct the midi drum files myself in Garageband, but I would rather my drummer spent the time doing this, not myself.
I've spent a bit of time googling this today but keep bringing up the wrong things as I'm probably using the wrong search terms.
    So, any ideas?
    thanks

You will be able to use the Cubase AI4 with any audio interface. Another option is to look for a 30 day demo of software like Reaper http://www.reaper.fm/index.php It won't stop after 30 days... just your concience needs to respond
Problem is though that if all you want to record is the MIDI then your drummer will also need some drum sounds in the form of a software instrument or a 3rd party VST to load into the recording software. So another program that comes uncrippled but has drum sounds in it is Ableton Live http://www.ableton.com/products However this can be an intimidating piece of software and it also cripples itself after 30 days.

  • I can't see how to edit PDF inside Portfolio for Acrobat X. In Acrobat 9 Pro

I can't see how to edit PDF inside Portfolio for Acrobat X. I can do this in Acrobat 9 Pro with the Document pull down menu. Did they take this away in Acrobat X?

Whether it's maxed or not doesn't make any difference.
The bottom part of the image/scroll bar is always under the Windows taskbar any time the URL is opened.
It is always fixed by doing something, either switching to and back from another window, or turning on and off one or more toolbars.
That shouldn't be necessary. The bottom part should be visible when the URL is opened.

  • Can I use Acrobat 11to download pdf that only allows me to read, enter data, and print?

I need to complete gov. forms available online as pdf.  I can review, enter data and print, but I cannot save to my computer or anywhere else.  I need to be able to save so I can return to the form and enter information as I access it.  Can this be done if I purchase Acrobat 11 and, if so, can I get the Standard edition?  I currently only have Reader.

Yes, if you upgrade to at least Acrobat Standard you will be able to save. Since you can't save with Reader (assuming 11), the forms are probably XFA forms (created with LiveCycle Designer), which must be Reader-enabled in order to be saved with Reader. Reader 11 can save non-enabled AcroForms (forms created with Acrobat), but not non-enabled XFA forms. If you have a Reader version prior to 11, try using Reader 11 to see if it will save.
If you can provide a link to one of the forms, I can tell you for sure what the minimum requirement for saving is.

  • How can I record an audio sound and convert it to a ringtone?

How can I record an audio sound and convert it to a ringtone?

Record your voice using iPhone (for ringtone only 35 secs or under are valid), sync iPhone with iTunes.
In iTunes the recorded voice is listed under Music as some_numbers.m4a.
Right click on the item and choose Create AAC version.
Drag the converted voice onto the desktop.
Delete the voice copy in iTunes. (important step)
On desktop, rename the some_number.m4a to something_more_intelligent.m4r
Drag it back to iTunes and you will find it under Tones.
Now select it (for sync) and connect your iPhone, do a sync.
If everything works out, it will be in Settings > Sounds > Ringtone.
Now choose a contact you want to assign this ringtone, tap Edit and add the ringtone.
    Hope this helps.

  • How many steps can be recorded in the History panel?

In Photoshop, 20 steps can be recorded in the Histroy panel with the defult setting, and we can change the setting to record more or less steps by choosing "Edit> Preference".
In Lightroom, how many steps can be recorded in the History panel with the defult setting? And how can we change the number of step to be recorded?

I guess since the history is kept in the database (and not only in memory as with PS), there is not so much an issue in limiting them.

  • PDF that can be sent to be edited by someone else?

I have an ebook that I want a professional editor to edit and I do not know how to create this possibility and send it to her. I also need to know how to turn it back so no one can edit it after it is complete. Thank you.
    ~kat

Send the original file and not the PDF. Have them do the editing and return the file to you THEN PDF it. You can add security to disallow editing after that using Acrobat.

Or, do I need to have some different approach to this problem?

  • How can I record the MASTER BUS?

We use Audition to record programs for airing. I would like to record the output of the effects rack (after applying a limiter, etc). How can I record the output of the Master or other Bus?
    George Weston
    KSFR-FM

You don't actually record it as such - you mix the master output down to a new file, which opens in Edit view where you can save it.
So in Multitrack view, that's Edit>Mix Down to New File, and select the particular option you want. So if you only want part of a session mixed, then make an appropriate time selection, and select that option.

    Hi Yekoms12,
CreatePDF is an online application used to convert and combine files of any other format to PDF or converting PDF files to MS Word/ Excel or RTF, but you cannot edit PDF files in Adobe CreatePDF. In order to edit PDF you need to purchase Adobe Acrobat XI.
For more information on using CreatePDF, please follow the link: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat-com/kb/using-createpdf.html

  • I can't get Acrobat to stay open...I get to the license agreement page, click agree, then try to open anything, and it closes and the agreement pops back up

It keeps doing this over and over, no matter how many times I try to open something. I have updated Acrobat. Nothing I've tried has helped. I'm getting very frustrated that I can't use Acrobat at all!

Sorry didn't realise you were an Apple Newbie!
No problem, when you're in the Finder, check along the menus at the top of the screen.
You should see Finder (in Bold) File, Edit, View, Go, Window and Help. Click the Go menu and with the mouse go to the second to last item which is 'Go to Folder…' then you be presented with a dialogue box ready to type some text into.
Now you can type the text ~/Library/Widgets into the box. The Tilde character is next to the left Shift key (Press and hold the Shift key and then press the ~ key.
It will be easier if whilst you're reading this message, you highlight the text ~/Library/Widgets and go to the Edit menu, select Copy, then go to the Finder and when you've the Go to Folder… dialogue window open, go Edit Paste and it will fill the box for you. Then just click the Go button and it should show your Widgets. Again if not the one just repeat the Go to Folder… bit and this time just remove the ~ at the beginning of the line

  • Can I set Acrobat X to increase the proportion of my PC's RAM it uses?

Can I set Acrobat X to increase the proportion of my PC's RAM it uses, in order to speed up OCR processing?  Currently, it uses up to 25% of my PC's RAM when OCR processing but I would like to increase this in order to complete OCR jobs more quickly.

    Short answer: no.
Long answer: a very few programs can use multiple cores. To do this, they have to split up and run themselves as multiple separate programs (in effect). This is only really suitable when either
    (a) two entirely different things need to be done or
    (b) a job can be split up into a lot of identical jobs, and all done at the same time.
Photo editing and video editing are the obvious cases of (b), since they have to repeat the same stuff over each bit of a picture, and a picture could be done in slices. Making programs run on multiple cores is awesomely complicated (especially if they previously didn't) but it's no coincidence that Adobe Photoshop and (I think) Adobe Premiere Pro - being image and video editors - are out there using multiple cores.
OCR doesn't lend itself to this terribly well (since the entire page is context), but what could work well is a program which is designed to do OCR on multiple files; it could split up and do them at the same time. Acrobat isn't that kind of high end program, however, it's meant for desktop users doing one thing at a time.

  • Can I record video on my iSight?

How can I record a video to post up on YouTube or something using my iSight camera??

    Hello GunsAndSmoke
There are many apps that will let you capture video or movie clips with iSight. However, for ease of use and integration with your Mac, Mac OS, and iSight, no app is better than Apple's own iMovie.
You must have iMovie 4 or later to use external iSight and iMovie 6 or later for a built-in iSight. iMovie also lets you easily edit your captured videos to delete any parts that you do not like, add titles, video effects, background music if desired, and save your finished video to a video file format that YouTube supports.
See YouTube Help for info on how to establish your account and upload your videos. Once you have your iMovie video looking like you want it and have set up your YouTube account, posting your saved videos on YouTube (uploading) will be a simple process.
If you are using the latest version of iLife, uploading is even easier. After you have established your YouTube account, you can upload your finished videos directly to YouTube from iMovie 7's Share > YouTube menu command.
You can learn more about the newest iMovie at Apple's iMovie Support Page, the on-line iMovie Tutorial, or Apple's Mac 101: iMovie. Specific information on Recording Video Directly into iMovie is shown beginning on page 15 of the iMovie ’08 Getting Started manual.
