Can't record anything --only get static

Hi,
Suddenly I can't record anything through the internal microphone. Both in Garageband and other apps, all I get is LOUD static. The recording bar doesn't show any input from the microphone. I have the preferences set for input: internal microphone. One weird thing, or maybe it's not weird, but worth mentioning: the input level bar in preferences under the sound input menu is flickering like mad.
As far as I know, I haven't changed any settings.
Can anyone assist?

Someone in another forum suggested this:
try dragging this file to the Desktop, reboot and set up sound again...
/Users/bd8/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist

Hi, i have recently purchased an MSI VOX usb2 device, and have installed it without any obvious problems (it is displayed in control panel, the programs- both windvd and the intervideo program, can recognise it) and yet cannot get a picture from any sources. i have tried an antenna lead into the CATV socket, it is roof mounted and works on tv so signal shouldnt be a problem.. yet no channels are found when using autoscan, both with freescan on and off.
I have also tried connecting via my video / tv through the composite adaptor, again with no picture. The intervideo program does display anything at all, and the windvd program only displays static.. tho the static does change between channels. Have tried all settings, such as pal_b, secam_k, etc. I cant see any obvious ways to make it work, any suggestions would be greatly apreciated. Thank you.

Why doesn't apple tv work in mexico? I changed the itunes location but can't access anything only a spinning pinwheel.

I brought my Apple TV down to Mexico from the US and can't get it to work unless I stream thru my Macbook and then airplay.
Why can't I get anything just with the apple TV?
I had the same settings as back home and then changed the itunes to Mexico, Half of the logos disappaered but I still can't get anything to come up.

Mark - I've experienced the same issue and am appalled that such a simple thing has been overlooked by apple! I'm also trying to use my ATV as a cable replacement. When I tried contacting Apple, they had no clue to what I was talking about... they just told me to make sure I was logged into my iTunes account (which I was). I'm wondering if this is a software issue, or something wrong with our accounts?

Can't purchase anything, keep getting error message.

Since upgrading to iTunes 8.1, it won't allow me to purchase anything.
I get the message "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The requested resource was not found."
Am I the only one getting this message?

The #1 culprit of not getting into the iTS after an itunes upgrade is security software blocking the new itunes version, and not telling you.
Go into Norton, McAffe, XoneAlarm, Kaspersky or whatever it is you have for security software. Take itunes out of the list, save, and put itunes.exe and itunesHelper.exe back into the list. Save it again, then try ITS.

AVI trouble, I can't see anything, only a green screen HELP

As I told in the Title, My problem is this, when I import an AVI file in Adobe Premiere PRO CS6,I can't see nothing but a green screen.
I'm a CC user, I work on a Mac Book Pro, MAC OS X 10.6.8, the file I'm trying to import come from a security camera the file is:

On my Mac I have VLC and I'm able to see the video on VLC, but ADOBE can't see this file in the followings ADOBE software; premiere pro CS6, Bridge CS6 even the ENCODER, always I see a green screen, I can push play, it plays video but I can see only GREEN...
All the ADOBE programs DON'T give me any Error report, only that green screen...

HT4061 How do I restore my iphone 4? Whilst updating to new software my computer crashed. This has left me with a phone that won't respond at all and itunes says 'restore your phone'. I can't press anything without getting a picture of a usb. not useful.

My computer crashed while updating my iphone 4.
My phone now will not respond other than a USB symbol to itunes.
When I plug into itunes it says 'reset your phone'.
I've tried holding the on/off and home button together, nothing.
On another note, it isn't possible to schedule into a shop in London until a week today. There is something seriously wrong with this picture.

1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

So I have about 1000 songs that I can no longer access because they are linked to my old account. I cannot access that account, because the email I used for it was my old work e-mail. I got laid off in 2009, so I have no way to access that e-mail. Is there a way I can unlock these songs, or are they lost? They are still on my iTunes, and everytime I go to play them, it says I need to authorize them to play on this computer. What can I do? Thanks for any help!!!

You can update an older Apple ID that is no longer a working email address by using a new email address. Just make sure that it is not an email address that you are using in your second Apple ID.
Once you have rehabilitated the old Apple ID, authorize the Mac to use content from both Apple IDs.

Close the videos app and launch it again.
To close an app, drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
if they still don't show up after you launch the app again, try resetting the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Macbook Pro keeps going to Mac OS X Utilities on start-up and can't do anything to get past it. I have tried everything.. even installing Mac OS X Lion again and after 6 hours of loading it said it couldn't load! Please help!?

I was able to access the internal hard drive and perform a permissions fix through disk utility and re-apply the OS X 10.5.6 combo update on a totally debilitated machine (Mac Pro early 08).
Some clarification though:
{{ I used a MacBook Pro instead of USB/ExternalHD to run a working copy of OS X. }}
~ Just start up the healthy OS X (laptop) in target disk mode (hold 't' key while it powers up)
~ Connect it to the impaired Mac with the highest speed cable available (fire800>fire400>USB)
~ Start up the impaired Mac while holding the alt/option key to select the boot drive.
~ Select the connected OS X (laptop hard disk) and start er up.
~ Run disk utility and you can now use the Fix Permissions option on the impaired Mac's internal hard drive.
~ Run the OS X Combo Update (or presumably other offending update/program) and make sure to change the destination to the internal disk of the impaired Mac
~ Shut down, unplug target disk, start up, and you should be good to go.
I was in some kind of uber-kernel panic and could not start up in safe mode OR from the installation disc, and this worked! Definitely a good emergency procedure to have in your back pocket.
Note: ...target disk pairing must be in this direction. I tried setting up the impaired Mac as target and connecting it to running laptop, and it let me run the install fine, but it didn't fix the problem...must be something with permissions that the impaired Mac needs to install to itself, even if the OS is running on another disk/machine.

Sync appears to be reorganizing my bookmarks to alpha order every time I reboot Firefox. Can I do anything to get sync to maintain the order I have arranged them in? Xmars never changed my specified order

Every time I reorganize them the way I want. They return to alpha order the next time I bring Firefox up.
Very annoying.
Sync should leave the organization of my bookmarks alone. Only ensure that all bookmarks are present on all machines but do not reorganize for me.
Is there a fix for this?

Stuck screen message, can't do anything to get past it...

My phone says "cannot access email account; please configure in settings" and will not let me choose "okay" or "settings" to fix it, it's stuck on that screen... i cant answer apple support's calls because of the stuck message. I'm trying to pull out the SIM card with a paper clip but it isn't popping out. I can't turn it off and on because it won't let me "slide to power off". What next?

GETTING STATIC FROM THE MONITORS

I have a pair of active monitors and they are going directly into my RME fireface 400. But for some reason Im getting heavy static when I turn them on. They are the only speakers going into my Fireface 400 and they are the only speakers with this issue. Heres the weird part though. I only get static in the studio, but when I take the speakers and fireface to another location using the same cables I get no static. Can anyone help?

It does not matter. Stay away from plugging anything to the wall. Each room is different, that's what my electricist said when I had my issue. Try a different room again, if it solves it, it is the room.

Can't record or set reminder on 037 Quest

I can Watch Quest but I can't record anything or set reminders. Quest+1 and all other channels ok as far as I can see. When I press Record or try to set a reminder literally nothing happens. Change channel and its fine.

I'm fairly certain that the root cause is incorrect EPG data for this channel but the Youview box appears to rely a lot on accurate EPG data so when its wrong the impact on Youview users appears more significant than other platforms.

Why can't I get AU Lab and Soundflower to record anything on my Mac Pro!

I have been (and I am) recording for years with logic audio and a lot of other recording aplications which I own.
I started experimenting with AU Lab. Although I am very good at figuering out, learning new applications I can't
record a thing with AU Lab and Soundflower to record anything on my Mac Pro! I red the confusing instructions
and followed You Tube videos on this. I get a reading of what I want to record in the AU Lab mixers only if I set
the input and output to Soundflower, but after recording and saving the AU Lab Recording .aif files play back nothing!
I am running system 10.9, latest AU Lab version. I do not use the Alesis iO|26 firewire interface I have connected but I
only want to record what is playing in my computer.
I changed input and output settings in the above to different combinations and in system audio still no sound out of
the AU Lab Recording .aif files I get!

next to the Audio engine running. This is there even with the LR sliders set to 1
