Can't record channel 504, NBC HD

A couple days ago this just started; when I try to record the NBC HD channel, it starts to record and immediately stops.
I'm using a Ceton equipped PC with a Verizon Fios cable card. I have several shows on weekly recording programed in Windows Media Center, Windows 8.1 Pro. Up until about May 28-29, I've had no problem with recordings on NBC or any other of my channels.
It appears that the NBC channel has some kind of copy protection started. I can record the NBC SD channel - 4, but would prefer the high definition with Dolby version.
Can someone please help to rectify this problem?

Found this in another forum.
There is evidently a pre-beta release (alpha?) that will fix the issue.

GB can only record 8 tracks at a time, however that is 16 channels, so with some extra effort you can get the outcome you desire, see the second tip here:

  • Can PCM multi-channel wav (not DD or DTS) be sent over SPDIF

<Can PCM multi-channel wav (not DD or DTS) be sent over SPDIF? --- X-Fi Elite Pro SB055A and Audio Creation Mode ---
If I understand correctly, SPDIF format can support uncompressed MULTICHANNEL wav format (within the limitations of its bandwidth) as well as the more usual DD or DTS encoded format on SPDIF.
One of the neat things about Creative's Audio Creation Mode in the Recorder section is the ability to actually record to a multi-wav format (but the sample size seems to be fixed at 24 bit). This means it is quite simple to have several mixer inputs and record a mixed multi-channel wav file in one go. Great and this works as expected with a 5. ?24 bit/48 kHz recorded test file.
My question is when one plays this recorded multi-channel wav file back, the mixer monitor (playback) shows the various 5. (say) channels with their separate content. Can this multi-channel *uncompressed* wav data? be sent over the SPDIF output as is to preserve the PCM quality? (so no DD or DTS encoding used)? I have tried this and I?ONLY seem to be able to get a STEREO (2 channel mixed down) version received at another SPDIF-in sound card (my Audigy 2ZS PCMCIA). I tried almost all selections at both ends involving SPDIF.

@? In answer to my own question, and I think I had known this a while back, SPDIF standard only supports transmission of either 2 channel PCM (uncompressed) stereo with up to 24 bit resolution per channel and up to as much as 92 kHz sampling frequency, or compressed (DD or DTS) multichannel audio up to 5..
Since each frame of SPDF is 64 bits in length (with a single sample of L and R channels plus extra bits of status in each frame), at 92 kHz max sampling rate, this translates to about 3 Mbits/sec bit rate. However most SPDF don't support the 92 kHz rate (which for 24 bit would be the stereo rate for DVD-Audio) for various copyright protection reasons.
Here is short demonstration of SPDIF transmission of 24bit/96 kHz between two sound cards with and without "bit accurate for playback" enabled:

I did raise an issue with Youview --
    https://community.youview.com/youview/topics/youview-epg-fault-quest
I'm fairly certain that the root cause is incorrect EPG data for this channel but the Youview box appears to rely a lot on accurate EPG data so when its wrong the impact on Youview users appears more significant than other platforms.

  • Can't rout channel sends to auxes

I am trying to set up a template for live recording. In this template I want to be able to mix monitors as well as record.
I am using a PreSonus FirePod which has 8 analogue inputs and 8 analogue outputs plus 2 channels of spdif i/o.
I am trying to rout my channel sends to 8 auxes and rout the sends of the auxes to busses assigned to 6 of my FirePod's outputs, so that I can solo the monitor sends from outputs 1-2. I can rout the channels directly to the busses but it gets complicated to try and solo the monitor sends.
Also, only 8 busses and 8 auxes can be used. The others can't be selected but are visible.
If anyone knows how i can rout my channels to the auxes and be able to use more than 8 auxes and 8 busses I would really appreciate it.
iMac G5 (iSight) late 2005 model   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   Using PreSonus FirePod as an audio interface

You'll need Logic Pro to do that. With Logic Express, you can't send anything to Aux, except Audio Instruments multiple outs.

  • Can not get channel substations on DVR-670KU

When i try to watch or record a channel substation, my DVD player will not show stations.
Example.....I can watch channel 35, but can not watch/record channel 35.3

Again since I don't have the DVR670 I can only ponder this and offer suggestions.
On p. 46 where it describes about how to set for recording, it mentions that one presses DTV to indicate digital, then enters digits, a dash, and then other digits, in your case 35-3 for that particular channel.
Since you're using cable, are you running your coaxial input into the DVR670? You must do so in order to get the digital signal. Presumably you're running the coaxial cable directly into your TV already if your TV can tune in digital channels like 35.3.
I see on p. 50 a diagram, and it shows a channel number of DTV125-1. Granted that's only 4 digits, but a total of 5 characters. I would think you'd have the opportunity to enter whatever was necessary as long as the DTV/TV button was toggling to DTV.

  • How can i record more then 2 tracks at a time?

I have my m-audio 2626 8 track preamp/interface going to my mac via firewire into le7 and i only can record two tracks at a time... is there a way to record more at on time? like 8???

It would help if you told us which computer you're using, and system software version.
Your interface has 8 x 8 ins/outs +ADAT, so you can certainly record 8 tracks at once (computer/system permitting) and you need to be running at least OS 10.4.10
LE7 was limited to 8 tracks simultaneous recording (or 12 - I don't recall) and you need to select the M-Audio device in Preferences-> Audio -> Driver. Make sure you have the latest drivers from M-Audio.
If you select an input in the I/O section your audio channel strip, how many inputs do you see? If you see more than two, you should be in business - just shift-click the record arm buttons on all your tracks and press record in your transport.
If you're using an Intel machine, you need to be running LE7 version 7.2+, preferably 7.2.3
Hope something here helps, but if you provide more information about your system you'll get some more specific ideas.

  • How can I record a guitar and my voice (only voice with mic) at the same time ?, how can I record a guitar and my voice (only voice with mic) at the same time ?

how can I record a guitar and my voice (only voice with mic) at the same time ? I have one interface with Input 1 mic, Input 2 guitar, everything is working correct, but how can I activate multi recording or something like that... thanks

Set your inputs on your channel strips and make sure you have one set to input 1 and the other input 2.  Arm the 2 audio tracks(the "R" in the track header. They will turn red and flash), then hit the record button.

  • !Can you record live while game playing with adobe audition? PLEASE HELP!

Can you record live while game playing with adobe audition? I have a youtube channel and I want to record voice as I'm playing of course and cancel out the noise maybe put a nice effect on it.. But how do I do this? Please help! I only see ones for recording like after.. But I want to record it as it's happening is this possible!? it has to be. thanks *ADOBE AUDITION CC*

That'll depend on the capabilities of the sound card/audio interface you're using.  If that interface can feed the right things to Audition, it can record it.  For just the game, look for "Wave Out" or "What U Hear" on the list of audio sources but not every system has this.  Also, if you want to record your own contributions as well as the game sound, that gets more complex too.
I know that there are specialist pieces of software that are designed to record live gameplay (which don't rely simply on your local sound card).  I know of a couple called "Action!" and "XSplite" but I have not personal experience with either.
However, before going that direction, check out the "Record Devices" menu in your sound system and see what it allows.

  • How can I record multiple tracks simultaneously?

How can I record multiple tracks simultaneously?  Or rather what hardware do I need to do this?  I currently run guitars and mic into a PA and then the PA into Garageband.  But this is just one track.  I want to record the guitar as one track while simultaneously recording vocals as another track.  What hardware do you suggest - keeping it affordable?

if you want to use your two chanel PA, pan 1 channel to the left, and the other to the right, and set one GB track to Mono 1 and the other to mono 2.
if you want better quality, any two channel interface will work:

  • With my iPhone 5s, can I record long voice memo to the cloud and not worry about storage on phone?

With my iPhone 5s, can I record a long voice memo to the cloud and not worry about storage space on phone?

You can't add music to the cloud, whether it will show there for streaming and redownloading depends upon what country that you are in. If you are in a country where music is available in the cloud then you don't have to download the music from the store, if you turn Settings > iTunes & App Store > Music (under the 'show all' heading) 'on' then you should be able to stream purchased music in the Music app without downloading it - your phone will need to be online in order to stream, and if using 3G/4G then it will use some of your data allowance.
If you download an album or a track then it will be downloaded onto your phone. You can't upload music to the cloud from an iOS device. Whether music that you've bought shows for streaming depends upon what country that you are in and if the album or track remains in the store (unless you've subscribed to iTunes Match), and if you are connected to a network.

  • How can I record a microphone and software instrument at the same time in Garageband 10.0.1?  It seems I can record one or the other, but not both at the same time?

I am trying to record a vocal mic and a keyboard (using a software instrument) at the same time using Garageband 10.0.1.  It seems that I can't record the mic input and the software instrument at the same time.  I can record the mic input by itself, and I can record the software instrument by itself (if I don't have a mic input track created), but I can't record them together.
It seems like this should be an obvious thing to be able to do, but I can't figure out how to make it work.
    Can someone help?
    Thanks,
    Kurt

  • Advanced CAN Frame to Channel Conversion: Error with LV 8.5.1

    Hello!
I´ve tried to read in a DBC-file with the "Advanced CAN Frame to Channel Conversion Example" on a LabVIEW 8.5.0 system and it works fine.
On a LabVIEW 8.5.1 System I get the error:
Scan From String (arg 6) in CAN FtoC Parse Channels and Mode.vi->CAN FtoC Parse CANdb Messages and Channels.vi->CAN Channel Data Import.vi
Does anybody know a solution for this error?
    Thank you for your help,
    demo66
    regards,
    demo66

    Hi!
It is a problem of localized decimal point.
In a german Windows, LabVIEW will use Komma as decimal point.
So the Scan From String.vi will convert string 0,21 in a double but not 0.21. From the file dbc you receive the values with period "." that's why it create the error 85.
You have 2 possibilities: change the localized decimal point in LabVIEW (Tools -> Options) or you say to the Scan From String.vi to use "." as a decimal point.
Go to CAN FtoC Parse Channels and Mode.vi and search the 2 Scan From String.vi
Add at the beginning of the Format String %.; so that the format String will use the "." as decimal point (see Attachement).
After that the example will work.
    Best regards
    Ken

  • How can I record an audio sound and convert it to a ringtone?

How can I record an audio sound and convert it to a ringtone?

Record your voice using iPhone (for ringtone only 35 secs or under are valid), sync iPhone with iTunes.
In iTunes the recorded voice is listed under Music as some_numbers.m4a.
Right click on the item and choose Create AAC version.
Drag the converted voice onto the desktop.
Delete the voice copy in iTunes. (important step)
On desktop, rename the some_number.m4a to something_more_intelligent.m4r
Drag it back to iTunes and you will find it under Tones.
Now select it (for sync) and connect your iPhone, do a sync.
If everything works out, it will be in Settings > Sounds > Ringtone.
Now choose a contact you want to assign this ringtone, tap Edit and add the ringtone.
    Hope this helps.
