Can't record passed 4.59min? drive has plenty of space.
I'm recording to HDdrive with plenty of space but my audio recordings are cutting off at around 5 min. In the Progress Window while recording the time right off the bat starts at around 5min and goes down until it stops recording. Do I need to set up a different parameter somewhere?

Do you have that default song bar at the top of the screen pushed back?
Besides the problem already being solved, the end marker makes no difference when recording. If you record past that the marker will just move with it.

IIRC, you can only download a maximum file size of 100MB with cellular.

Dealing with a 4rd party application that inserts into its log table, but watching sql profiler i see a ton of the same traffic. Its trying to insert into the table, but generates an error that mentions the transaction log for that DB is full.
Well, earlier I had reset the recovery mode to simple, from full since this is a test system and dont really care about recovery.
So the message mentions to check the log_reuse_wait_desc column in sys.databases and there the value is 'CHECKPOINT'. At least at that point in time.
There is plenty of space in the transaction log and the physical disk has plenty of space as well.
What could be causing the error that seems to suggest the transaction log is full, when in fact it is not?What is the setup for autogrowth on the log file?

External hard drive has no available space even though i have deleted nearly everything on there
I have an external hard drive for backups and it has no available space even though i have deleted nearly everything on there. Where is the space?
Drive Preparation
1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. -
i get a error message saying that i don't have sufficient memory to upload music from my own cd library? what is going on? how can I change this, i have like 2 Terabytes of space on my hard drive? can someonw help me resolve this issue?

How can I 'see' what my external drive has backed up?
After losing info on my computer, I got a 1 Terabyte for the Mac back-up drive and it seemed to do its thing. Now, how do I see all the things its backed up? I want to make sure my music is there.

OK, so you are using Apple's own "Time Machine" for your backups.
You can change the interval at which TimeMachine backs up using the hint at http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=200710291721156
Alternatively you might want to try the "donationware" software available at http://www.klieme.com/TimeMachineScheduler.html which fortunately overcomes the need to play around with text editors and plist files directly, though it still seems to need a few bugs sorted out.

Error: Insufficient Disk Space (but my HD has plenty of space)
I am getting the following message when trying to import my vacation photos from SD card to Aperture.
"Insufficient Disk Space
There is not enough free space on your Aperture Library volume to import the selected items. It is estimated that you need at least 447MB of additional free space."
Does anyone know what this means?

Just looked and my Aperture Libary is 53.77 GB.Please advise your hardware and workflow info in some detail. Specific Mac, RAM, hard drives or SSDs, where the Library is located, how full (in %) each hard drive is, OS/app versions, etc. so we can help you to troubleshoot your problem.
Folks have lots of good reasons for not upgrading OS or app versions. Personally I try to always delay updating versions, and did not go to Lion until 10.7.4. However if you are still on 10.7.1 like it says in your sig I do suggest that you seriously consider upgrading to a newer version of the OS.
Given that you are currently having problems I do recommend that you report the full hdw/sw/workflow info here before doing anything dramatic like upgrading the OS. Any suggestions that we make while ignorant of your full info may lead in the wrong direction.

Aperture won't let me import images. It tells me that there is not enough space in the Aperture volume. I am directing the images to a remote drive that has plenty of space. Any ideas?

Time Machine has no more space
I just received a notice that the hard drive I am using for my Time Machine backup has no more room. I am wondering how I go about making more room on the hard disc. I don't really want to go out an get a new one. If this isn't an option, how do I go about replacing the one I have?
As your backup drive begins to fill up to its capacity, Time Machine intelligently deletes the oldest backups to make room for newer ones (and will alert you if the "Notify after old backups are deleted" option is selected in Time Machine preferences).
If your backup disk is filling up often causing your oldest available backups to be erased sooner than you might want, consider the following options:
Use an additional drives for your backups or transfer your backups to a new, larger drive as detailed above. When you connect a new drive for the first time, use Time Machine preferences to select the drive. Tip: You can also browse the original backup drive for past backups by using "Browse other Time Machine Disks"--to see this choice, hold the Option key then click the Time Machine menu in the Finder (to see the menu, "Show Time Machine status in the menu bar" must be selected in Time Machine preferences.
Reduce the amount of information being backed up by adding to the "Exclude these items from backups" list in Time Machine preferences, as mentioned above. Your backup drive will fill up less often.
Delete file(s) that are no longer needed (such as from your desktop, Documents folder, or other Home folder locations), so they will no longer be backed up. You can also enter the Time Machine restore interface and find files that can be removed from the backup drive itself to conserve space. To do this, select the file(s) and from the Action pop-up menu (gear icon) in the Time Machine Finder window choose "Delete All Backups of...". Be sure to only delete files you are sure you won't need or want to restore later. -

How can I remove it? Each time is a printed page than go on trash.
Regards.Sadly, the only way I know of is that this has to be done PER USER with the instructions below. We had all of our users do this when we went live.
1.Navigate to a screen in SAP that produces a statistics page when you print.
2.Start printing the page as normal.
3.Enter the printer that you would like to print to.
5.Click on the Properties button.
6.If a screen appears about line format, click the Green Checkmark (Continue).
7.On the next screen, click the Specifications button.
8.For Field name select ALV Statistics.
9.Click on the Pencil Icon (Change) to the right of the Field default value.
10.Uncheck the box ALV Statistics
11.Click the Green Checkmark.
12.Click on the Copy settings button.
13.An entry in the box below the Copy settings button will appear.
14.Click the Green Checkmark to continue.
15.Click the Green Checkmarks as they appear to save the settings and print your document. You will need to do this on several screens.
16.The one page statistics report will no longer print with your documents.

You can change the computers region "only 5 times". Then it's locked in the 5th version/region (until you erase your HD & start all over.). -

I would like to know if you have to back up a macbook hard drive, can I use a external hard drive that has been previously used to back up several pc 's, or is it best to have a separate external drive for the Mac?
In the Mac side of things, backups usually come in two flavors: clones or incrementals.
A bootable clone is a bit-for-bit copy of all essential files in the startup volume. If using the Lions, clones can be made using CarbonCopyCloner or just plain old Disk Utility. These backups represent the safest protection of your info, but take the longest to do. Recovery is an inverse process: you copy the clone back into the internal drive.
Incremental backups start with a complete backup of the startup volume and only copy whatever changed from the previous run. OS X includes the fully integrated Time Machine backup utility to do this. It is extremely easy to do and takes the least amount of time. Recovery is another matter altogether since you have to start with a freshly installed instance of the OS and have to apply all intervening backups to bring the result to the latest saved version.
As for where the backup takes place, the recommended media is an external dedicated drive or drives connected via the fastest interface available on your Mac: Thunderbolt, USB3, Firewire, or USB2. Network-based backups, wired or wireless, are attractive but may not offer the same performance and hence take longer. Also important to note that the entire drive need not be completely dedicated to a single backup. The Mac's EFI firmware infrastructure allows for an unlimited number of partitions on a hard drive and each can be used for either type of backups.

If you can't remember them, you can go to iforgot.apple.com to try to recover the information.
