Can't redeem code
Trying to redeem code, using windows 8.1, newext version of iTunes. When I click Redeem having entered code, it turns red with a message just beneath the code box to set up 3 security questions [I have security question set up but it never asks these questions] and the login box appears. This repeats infinitely though I am logged in/log in and out correctly repeatedly. I've not tried to redeem codes before but have bought and downloaded without this problem, last time some months agao. restarting computer/resetting password/ uninstall and reinstall of iTunes all change nothing.
There is an iTunes help page if you're repeatedly asked for password which gives bogus instructions, eg first step win8 says move cursor to upper right and open control panel - there is no option there for control panel. Etc

Are you able to try taking it back to the store that you bought it from and ask them to activate it properly ? HT201209 Logged in, but can't redeem codes?
I have reset my Apple ID's password. Logged out of Itunes, logged back in, no problem. When I click "redeem code", it asks me to log in again, even though I am already logged in. I enter my credentials. Then, oddly enough, the log in window closes, then reopens, telling me to enter my log in credentials. It doesn't say I entered in the wrong information or anything, it just tells me to log in again!
Why? I don't understand, it says I am logged in already, why can't I redeem a code? It doesn't even let me try, it just goes straight back to the "Log in" screen.Not sure what you might be seeing. The login in the uppper right corner of the page is for Adobe.com. You also need to be signed into Forums (upper left side, just below the black Forums Banner). I'll check on the insert image button. It should be active.

I work in a school where I have been working updating 8 2008 macbook pros to Mavericks. I finished 7 of them before the weekend. I started on the final one today but now I can't redeem the codes in the app store because it wants me to update to 10.10.
I don't want to update to Yosemite, it appears to have numerous issues, particularly relating to speed on older macs such as ours.
Frankly it seems ridiculous that I could be forced to upgrade as soon as the new OS is available. It is arrogant in the extreme of Apple to expect their customers to jump at their say-so. Is there no room for backwards compatibility?
How can it be that over a single weekend the OS (Mavericks) goes from being the latest available to YOU MUST UPGRADE NOW?
It beggars belief.If you have a question, ask it. If you want help solving this, then maybe you should consider contacting iTune store support. Though, if you take the same attitude with them, I wouldn't expect to get far.

I have a Canadian iTunes account how can I redeem an iTunes HD code that I received from an Amazon purchase. I tried to redeem it and it says that it is a US code only. I have heard you can create a new account with an American billing address and redeem it that way. But could I also change my current account to an American address (I have a US shipping address) redeem the code and switch back to the Canadian address or would I lose the digital copy. Does anyone have any experience with this? I have an Apple TV and would rather not have to log in and out just to watch movies.
You can't redeem it except in a US iTunes account. Since you got it from Amazon I would return it and ask them to replace it with one from the CAD store.
If you have a US iTunes account then you can switch to the US Store and redeem it there. -

No. Only apps purchased from the App Store can be re downloaded for free including updates. -

I have an account balance in the Itunes store. When I try to purchase a book by redeeming part of this balance, the system asks for a Redeem Code.
I do not have one, nor do I remember ever establishing such a code. The balance arises from entering a number of previous gift cards which I no longer have. What can I do to use my account balance?Once you redeem an iTunes card or gift certificate you no longer need the code. If you see a credit balance in your iTunes Store account, just go ahead and buy what you want. As long as it's not a gift for someone else, the cost will be automatically deducted from your balance.
