Can't redownload an app...?

When I try to redownload the app, I'm told that, "This update is for an app downloaded with a different Apple ID", but I only have one ID, and the app is in my Purchase History for that ID, so I'm at a complete loss for what to do...

First, verify that the particular app is in your Purchase History. Once verified that it is there, delete the app and follow the steps recommended in the following Knowledge Base article:

If you have iOS 4.2.1 or later on the iPod and there was version compatible with that version, then you should be able to get a compatible version by:
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

Can't redownload purchased app

My TomTom US CANADA app has been recently crashing, so I was directed by TomTom to reboot by iphone 4 and then re-download it after deleting the app from my iphone and itunes app list. I went to re-download it and pressed buy and it did not come up as 'my app is already purchased and ready to re-download' (instead it indicates that I have to re-purchase the app to download it again). Why can't I re-download the app I already purchased on my account without having to re-purchase and pay again? How can I re-download my already purchased app without having to pay again? How can I redownload an app I bought?

I bought the latest version of Growl on the App store, then later forgot I already had it and used the Growl uninstaller to remove it, thinking to buy the latest version...duh. Now on the app store it says it is already installed and I can't seem to find a way of re-downloading it to reinstall it. The app store is a pain this way. Are downloaded apps kept somewhere locally after purchase? This would help when reinstalling is needed. I always keep a copy of a new/updated app in a folder in case of need, but haven't figured out where apple puts this on the OS, assuming it does...

Many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

Can't redownload certain apps after restoring to an iPad Air

I recently backed up my iPad2 and restored to a new iPad Air. Certain apps did not come across (HBO Go, The Walking Dead, Files Pro are some of them). When I find them on the app store, there is no icon visible to re-download them.

More info: After I restored, I did a sync to get the apps copied to the iPad Air. Most of the apps came across just fine. The ones that didn't now show up in the updates section of the store as having available updates, but there is no button next to them to install the update. Finding them in the store itself also shows there is no button to download them. The complete list of missing Apps is:

With al the apps in yuor iTunes library, just restore the new iPOd from the backup of the old iPod.

If you are getting an 'invalid security code' message then is the address on your iTunes account exactly the same (format and spacing etc) as on your credit card bill : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1646 ? If it is then you could try what it says at the bottom of that page :
If the issue persists, contact your credit card company and verify that they and any company they use to process credit card authorizations have the correct information on file.

The FAQ is correct, but as long as the MAS thinks that the app is on your Mac it has no reason to allow an install.
Try this;
Trash the following folders and files; (~ is your Home folder)
     ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
     ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.storeagent
     ~/Library/Cookies/com.apple.appstore.plist
     ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist
     ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.storeagent.plist
Restart.

I've tried to redownload an app I deleted a while back but it just says installing then goes back to instal I can download new apps though. I've tried resetting my settings, turning my phone off and back on but nothing works. What do I do?

Check with the Devloper that this App is Compatible with your current iOS version.
