Can't reinstall Acrobat 8 Pro after testing version 9

I have a downloaded Adobe Web Premium CS3 which came with Acrobat 8 Pro. I ran a trial version of Acrobat 9 (which required uninstalling version 8) and this has now expired. I went back to my download to reinstall version 8 but it's asking for the medium which, of course, I don't have as it was a download. So, I thought I would go and download a trial of CS3 but that has been upgraded to include Acrobat 9. I don't want to buy just Acrobat 9 as I was waiting for a Web Premium upgrade. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Dave

  • Can't update acrobat 9 pro after reinstall on mac

i just reinstalled acrobat 9 pro onto a new macbook air (replacing my previous machine), using the original disc, v.9.0.0, and product key.
previously i'd seen cues to update (to 9.5.2), but now i can't seem to -- there's no update link at all in the help menu, and when i downloaded the update file from the adobe site, it wouldn't let me choose my app to update.  what do i do please?  thanks!

OK - this is now solved, as far as i can tell (not having actually worked in the program yet).
i realized that part of the problem was that i'm now working on mtn lion, v 10.8.2, and the adobe fixes are not stated to go up that far.  however, other posts said that up to 9.5.2 does work on mtn lion, so ...
i was able to do the updates by doing them one at a time, starting with 9.1.
it took over an hour of tedious stages, but it seems to have accepted them all.
just leaving this thread up in case it helps anyone else.  thanks all, esp gener7.

  • How Do I Reinstall Acrobat XI Pro After Uninstalling?

I have had nothing but trouble with Acrobat XI Pro since installing from the Creative Cloud. If a PDF from a client contains a comment or note, Acrobat crashes. If I try to open Preferences, it crashes. It does it intermitently. For awhile today I could do both, then it started crashing again. I've logged out and back in, shut down and restarted.
I've been poring over these forums all day and not seeing anyone with a similar predicament. Finally, out of frustration, I ran the uninstaller and tried to reinstall. Now the Adobe Application Manager shows that Adobe Acrobat XI Pro is up to date, even though it has now been removed from my system. I'm really screwed and on deadlines, Yikes! Please help!
    I'm using a 24", early 2008 iMac, OS X 10.8.3, 4GB RAM.
    Lauren

After 2-hours on the phone with Adobe help we traced the problem to old CS4 files. Here's how we fixed the problem:
    1. We ran uninstallers on all the old programs.
    2. Ran the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool (set to "All" not just Creative Cloud).
    3. Trashed the Adobe Application Manager.
    4. Shut down and restarted the mac.
    5. Re-ran the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool to make sure there was NOTHING in the list at all.
    6. Re-installed the Adobe Application Manager.
Finally Acrobat XI Pro was able to install properly. Whew! I hope this helps someone else.

  • I reinstalled Acrobat X Pro after a disk crash and it doesn't accept my serial number

After a hard drive crash and reformatting, I went to install Acrobat X Pro, and the installer accepted the serial number, but the program doesn't
This is an upgrade from Acrobat 9 Pro, but it doesn't accept that serial number either.

It will ask for BOTH of those serial numbers at different times. The Acrobat 9 serial is for a "qualifying" product. Not sure what order it will want them, look closely at the prompts.

    Hello:
Acrobat X Pro was running fine on my iMac for months (OSX Version 10.8.5).

The installation goes to 99% then tells me the installtion failed, it spits out the disc and the following message shows up on screen:

  • Problem reinstalling Acrobat X Pro

I am trying to reinstall Acrobat X Pro after getting a new hard drive. I deactivated it on the computer I used in the interim before trying to reinstall. I had no problems a week ago but this time after all the files load the install stops for several minutes and then an Error 1305 is displayed asking that I verify that Data1.cab is available and that I can access it. I can see that file name is the last one moved when all of the files have installed. Is there a way to access a download for Acrobat X Pro now that version XI has been released? If not, how do I proceed?

You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

  • Reinstalled Adobe Acrobat XI Pro after upgrading to windows 8.1 and now cannot scan

Reinstalled Adobe Acrobat XI Pro after upgrading to windows 8.1 and now cannot scan through Adobe, although Scanner says its combatible with Windows 8. Cannot reinstall drivers because Brother claims they're built-in. Help!

    1. Re: Reinstalled Adobe Acrobat XI Pro after upgrading to windows 8.1 and now cannot scan
    Anubha Goel
I am using a Brother MFC 8460N and on Brother's site it says its compatible with win 8.1 and that the driver is already installed. When I try to scan I am told there is no preset (there was with win 7 though) and I have to "custom scan." When I try that, I hear a sound as if the printer is trying to scan, but the feeder can't pull the paper through. I then get a blank .pdf as my scan. Thanks for your advice. I will try that.

  • Can't load previously installed Acrobat 9 Pro after my CS6 trial expired.

Can't load previously installed Acrobat 9 Pro after my CS6 trial expired. Keeps asking to buy the trial version or license the software (in reference to the CS6 trial, even though I'm loading my own Acrobat 9 Pro from my CS4 Creative Suite I purchased and had previously installed--still installed to my knowledge...at least I never uninstalled it anyway, if that helps)
    Thank you!

Yes. I have tried to repair it, but it still didn't work. I had to completely uninstall - reboot - then do a clean install. Works beautifully for a few weeks, then nothing.

  • Can't install Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows XP Home Ed V2002 SP3

Newbie hozer can't install Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows XP Home Ed V2002 SP4.  At end of install via CD it hangs restarting Print Spooler (spooler) and Windows Image Acquisition (stisvc) services, err 1920, and all I can do is click Cancel and it uninstalls the whole dad gum thing.  I tried kb.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403613.html.  Not fixing it.
If I could change the permissions on those services maybe that would help but I can't do it, I don't have a login with enough permissions, I guess...
So after the third time I just hard-crashed the hard drive when it got to the last ("can't start Windows Image Acquisition", cancel/retry) window and I did end up with the files on the HDD but... they won't install or delete now.  I'm infested.  Try to install in Normal or Vega mode, it now pops up a filled in userid/serial number box, and when you click ok or retype it, it says the s/n is invalid.  I keep having to reboot to get Windows Installer to let me start it (another permissions problem).  So I'm stuck. UpToDateTrendMicro doesn't find any evil doers...  the kb403613 sent me to this forum,
    with hopes,
M3/   [that's MEL, or as close as the ScreenNameBouncer would let me get]

Not sure it will help, but try it when logged in as the administrator and with anti-virus turned off. As far as error numbers, must of us have no clue (there seems to be a list at Adobe, but we don't work there.

  • Cannot Install Acrobat 9 Pro after Installing IE8

The story... Running Vista Business.  I've been running Acrobat 9 Pro for a while now.  I have since upgraded my browser from IE6 (default install) to IE7 to IE8.  Today I decided to uninstall/reinstall Acrobat 9 Pro to troubleshoot an issue.  All of a sudden, the Acrobat 9 Pro installer quits during the preinstall checks and says, "Acrobat requires Internet Explorer version 6".
At this point, downgrading IE is out of the question (for a multitude of reasons), so I re-ran the Acrobat 9 installer, this time doing a custom install.  In the advanced settings, I unchecked the PDFMaker for Internet Explorer option.  After that, the installer ran without any errors.  Wanted to post this in case some else out there runs into this issue.
Apparently when Adobe built Acrobat 9, they assumed that IE versions would never go above 6.
    Bug or bust? Your call.

Hi, yes, understood that they are different things. However, if I'm to
rely on the link provided on the first reply then does it follow that 9
Pro is also not supported on Mountain Lion? I have a MACbook here on OSX
Mountain Lion, and as I've also mentioned on my first post, I was able to
install 9 Pro and update it as well.
It really is just odd that Lion is singled out here. I also checked this
and there is no mention of problems with updating 9 Pro:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/known-issues-mac-os-10.html
Sorry, but just trying to really find a workaround for this issue right
now. We though of using X Pro instead but, again, if I rely on the system
    requirements on this link -
    http://www.adobe.com/sea/products/acrobatpro/tech-specs.html - the OSX
version our user has is still not supported.
    Mac OS
    Intel processor
    Mac OS X v10.5.8 or v10.6.4
    512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)
    1.2GB of available hard-disk space
    1024x768 screen resolution
    DVD-ROM drive
    Safari 4 for Mac OS X v10.5.8; Safari 4 or 5.0.x for Mac OS X v10.6.4
    Thanks.

  • How to reinstall Acrobat X Pro? I purchased Acrobat X at a retail staore and Acrobat X Pro from the Adobe Website.

I just installed a Solid State Hard-drive on my computer and am now looking for a way to reinstall Acrobat X Pro that I purchased from the Adobe Website. I purchased Acrobat X from a retail store.
I dont need to install Acrobat X from the Disc before I install Acrobat X Pro I purchased from the website do I? And how do I install Acrobat X Pro anyway?

    Hi Sonoma707,
There's no difference between the installer on the disk and that available online.
You can download Acrobat 10 Pro from : http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html
and use the purchased serial number to activate the software.
