Can't reinstall Acrobat X via CreativeCloudClient

Hello,
I have a monthly subscription to CS6.
I recently uninstalled Acrobat X Pro with the unistaller because it looked like I did not have the full version - the Tools menu wasn't present for example.
I thought something may have gone wrong with the initial install, hence uninstalling it with a view to reinstalling it.
However, when I go to my AdobeCreativeCloudClient it states that Acrobat X is already installed - even though I have uninstalled it and there are no relating files to it.
So, I have 2 questions:
1. How do I reinstall Acrobat X?
2. Why did I have what looked like an uncomplete version, with no Tools menu etc?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Graham

Hello,
Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately, I have already used the unistaller, which unistalled the software and deleted appropriate files. But my AdobeCreativeCloudClient still states that Acrobat X is already installed.
Considering I'm paying Adobe for my subscription, I want to re-install Acrobat X but it's not letting me.
Does anyone know how I can get in touch with Adobe perhaps?
Graham

  • Reinstall Acrobrat Pro X. Can't reinstall Acrobat Pro X after computer crash

I am trying to reinstall Acrobat Pro X after a compter crash. I enter the correct serial number but then get asked to select a prior product, in my case Acrobat Pro 9, and enter the serial number (this is the number that appears in my account), but there is nowhere to enter the serial number. And if I try to reinstall Pro 9 it won't let me. Do I have to deinstall Pro X first, or what? ALl input welcomed, thanks. Shanter

Thanks Bill, that seems to have done the trick. I am now successfully

  • Can't reinstall Acrobat in Adobe CC

Acrobat XI Pro was crashing repeatedly on start up. Eventually would not open - uninstalled it.
Now when I go into Application Manager, I can not reinstall it, it says that Acrobat is 'up to date'... but the application is not even on my Mac any more (OS X 10.6.8).
Also, I can't get the CC Desktop App to even install - it won't get past Adobe App Manager, that opens up and installation seems to falter.

I have now managed to get rid of all traces of old Acrobat install (had to run the uninstall again), but teh issue with CC manager is still not fixed.
The Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app will NOT install. I download it, launch the installer, it initializes ... then it simply opens up the existing/old AAM and stops. I get no install, no CC icon in teh menu bar, no CC in preference panel.
The above link you sent is no use because it assumes I have the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app already.
Please advise how can I get this installed so I can accurately run the entire suite of software I am paying for?

  • Can't reinstall Acrobat from CS4

    Hi
Here are my symptoms--for some reason Adobe PDF 9.0 wouldn't work. So I figured that the best thing to first try is uninstalling Acrobat Pro 9 and reinstalling it. I used the uninstaller to uninstall, then ran the installer from CS4 Design Standard. The installer hangs at "Preparing to Install..."
I looked at http://forums.adobe.com/message/2196993#2196993, in which Bob Levine refers to http://forums.adobe.com/thread/467529?tstart=30. But I can't figure out which solution he is referring to:
    * The (uncited) reference that "According to the Adobe KB, the blank installer alert dialog is a result of having Safari 4 installed."
    * The suggestion to quit Safari (not applicable to me)
    * The suggestion to Safe Boot
I'm off to Safe Boot and reinstall (why did I think I was going to get some work done today, rather than f-ing around with the Adobe Installer?). If that doesn't work, I guess I'll go call Mumbai.
Bob, if you are reading this, and you have some more clues to leave us about the installer hanging, we would love them
    A
PS--If it matters, I installed CS4 last week, and then installed OS 10.6, and now Adobe PDF 9.0 isn't working (perhaps related, not sure).

Well, I went through the process of deactivating, uninstalling CS4, running the cleanup script , and then reinstalling from scratch. At least I now have Acrobat running again, but I still can't print from Adobe PDF 9.0. Sigh. I'll go over to another forum and see if I can find any clues.

  • Can't reinstall Acrobat 8 Pro after testing version 9

I have a downloaded Adobe Web Premium CS3 which came with Acrobat 8 Pro. I ran a trial version of Acrobat 9 (which required uninstalling version 8) and this has now expired. I went back to my download to reinstall version 8 but it's asking for the medium which, of course, I don't have as it was a download. So, I thought I would go and download a trial of CS3 but that has been upgraded to include Acrobat 9. I don't want to buy just Acrobat 9 as I was waiting for a Web Premium upgrade. Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Dave

Login to adobe.com and click on the link below to download Adobe Acrobat X Pro English Windows from the link below :

Acrobat X Pro was running fine on my iMac for months (OSX Version 10.8.5).
Then Adobe Software Updater said it was not able to install an Acrobat update and that I should re-install Acrobat.
So I am trying to re-install just Adobe Acrobat X off of my CS6 Standard DVD.
The installation goes to 99% then tells me the installtion failed, it spits out the disc and the following message shows up on screen:

  • Reinstall Acrobat Pro X

"You can have problems reinstalling Acrobat X via Acrobat Suite if you uninstalled Acrobat using Add/Remove Programs. The correct workflow is to uninstall the Acrobat Suite.  [2747620]"
Too late. I already improperly uninstalled Acrobat Pro X and now cannot reinstall. I have a disk with a serial number and it will attempt to reinstall, but fast forward to 99% in about a minute and spit out the disk telling me there was an error while attempting to install. What is the solution to this?

I have been fist fighting this issue for months. I get warnings that the program is damaged and to reinstall it. I uninstall the old one, download it again using the Application Manager and I start the cycle all over again. Judging from Google searches, we're not the only ones... but Adobe is spectacularly inept on this issue. I have uninstalled and tried trial downloads from the US and UK only to update and get the same problems. I have yet to find an effective fix.

  • Problem reinstalling Acrobat 8 because of AE CS4 Trial

    Hi there!
I'm using CS3 Design Premium. I was trying to reinstall Acrobat 8 because I can't update it anymore. But during reinstallation it stops and asks me for an After Effects CS4 disk, which I don't own. When I click cancel, the reinstallation stops without Acrobat 8. I had the trial of AE CS4 installed, but removed it allready. How can I reinstall Acrobat 8 without the AE CS4 interruption? I tried the cleaning script, but I can't chose AE CS4 there.

I got it to work. Try this patch

Hi Deepak, Acrobat XI crashes every time I open Acrobat preferences, which I am opening in an attempt to reconnect Acrobat with my default mail app, which is Apple Mail. • How to reinstall Acrobat

I used the unistaller app on my Mac to uninstall Acrobat. Now I already see Acrobat in the installed app list of Creative Cloud app. How can I reinstall Acrobat?

I have found this solution, which worked for me.
Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers Which is from where he recomended I do all my uninstalls.
So, from there I clicked on Acrobat X Pro and followed the screen instructions.
When I then launched Adobe Application Manager, teh Install button next to Acrobat was active and I was able to reinstall Acrobat.
    Thank you.
