Can't reinstall Adobe Acrobat from my Design Standard 5.5

I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat from by computer, it was part of Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard. When I tried to reinstall Acrobat from the disk, it says my serial number is invalid, which it isn't. I tried live chat with Adobe but they were unable to help me. I use Acrobat for work and school so I really need to get this resolved.

Yes, and there is just one disk. I have tried deactivating Photoshop so it will let me license the product again, but I can’t deactivate. I’ve also tried un-installing the entire suite and then re-installing, but I am unable to uninstall.

How can I transfer Adobe Acrobat from my old Laptop to my new laptop?

You have to deactivate and uninstall on the old system and then reinstall on the new system. Whether it works depends on the Acrobat version (looks like you indicated AAX) and OS. You need to be sure to update after the new install. Just transferring files like you imply you want to do is not possible with almost any modern software. The software not only loads files, but sets all sorts of registry entries that would take a lot of time to find. In the past there were some programs that supposedly tried to move programs, but I have not seen mention of one in years.

  • Can i reinstall adobe acrobat on another system?

I want to buy adobe acrobat reader and want to know few things
    1. can I reinstall the adobe acrobat on a new system which I intend to buy in near future ( if yes how many times I can do this)
    2. can I save the download version of the acrobat reader for future use

Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat are two different programs. The first id free, the second isn't. If you buy the non-CC cversion of Acrobat, you can have it installed in two computers provided you don't use it both copies at the same time. Also, you can uninstall and reinstall it as you please, provided that you properly unistall it from one computer before installing it on another. I am not clear what the situation is with the CC version.

  • Can't reinstall Adobe Acrobat 8 as part of Creative Suite 4 on Mac OS

I had to reinstall my creative suite 4 design premium because of glitches. I worked with Adobe customer support, clearing out all the trace files so I could reinstall correctly, but when all the reinstalling had happened (and I had hung up with the support) I realised my Adobe Acrobat did not install. When I tried to install it again, I got a message saying it was already installed. Any ideas of what I can do to make sure the Acrobat is fully uninstalled so I can install it??
    Thanks!

  • How can I prevent Adobe Acrobat from applying optimizations and compressionsserve on save/save as...

I am generating mailpiece documents as PDF v1.4 from a document composition tool.  I am using Enfocus Pitstop v10 (v10.1.7.27 to be exact) to remove some unneeded water marks from the produced document.
My issue is that I need to PRESERVE the original PDF structure as emitted from my composiiton tool and I'm finding that regardless how I proceed, Adobe Acrobat want to resave the PDF as v1.6 and apply a series of optimizations and compressions which alters the original PDF structure.  The reason I need to preserve the strucure of thePDF is to confirm 508 compliance for the emitted PDF documents.
Note: I've tried various settings in Acrobat Distiller and the Adobe PD printer (thinking they are invoked somewhere inthe backgroud of Acrobat when it goes to save/save as...) but haven't experienced any progress...
Am I chasing a rabbit here (meaning what I want is NOT possible) or am I missing something in my configuration attempts??
    Thanks!

If you need the final PDF to have the requisite well-formed structure tree (that is, compliant with ISO 14289-1, PDF/UA-1) and thus "accessible" then you need to do the adjustments to your PDF's content streams before establishing that well-formed structure tree.
Note that PDF  versions 1.4 or above can have that well-formed structure tree - put another way PDF version 1.4 or PDF-1 (PDF is the ISO Standard ISO 32000-1) can have the well-formed structure tree. I can 'build' such a PDF that starts as PDF version 1.4 via Acrobat 5, do some additional post-processing with Acrobat XI Pro which, via a Save As puts the PDF into a new "version" and *not* adversely affect content streams / structure tree.  Your post-processing is what is changing the "guts" not the save to a different version.

  • Reinstall Adobe Acrobat from CS4

    Hello.
This is the first time posting about this issue.
For a few months Acrobat 9 Pro has not allowed updates and after reading what causes this, the best idea is probably to reinstall.
However, I was wondering what the best way to go about reinstalling actually is, since it came to be on my computer from the CS4 discs.
Is it possible to reinstall just one program from out of everything on the CS discs?
Any help with this would be really appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ben.

Acrobat 9 Pro will appear as a different product in Control Panel. You can remove it from there.
Yes, you can install only one software using the CS disc.

  • Can I transfer adobe acrobat from my old to new computer?

My licence for Adobe Acrobat9 was included when I bought my old laptop. I've got a new laptop and would like to run the software on this PC, (how) can I do this?

    Hi iws transfer,
What version of Windows does your new laptop have? See System requirements | Acrobat.com to see what versions of Windows Acrobat 9 supports. If your OS isn't listed here, you may be able to install and use Acrobat, but Adobe can't officially support the setup.
That said, you'll need your the installation media and your serial number. If you don't have the installation media, you can download Acrobat 9 Pro from this page:  Download Acrobat products | 9, 8    (Acrobat Standard isn't available for download.)
And here's some instructions for retrieving your serial number: Find your serial number quickly - Adobe
If you run into problems, please let us know.
    Best,
    Sara

There are many different Acrobat-related products.
    Acrobat Standard
    Acrobat Pro
    Adobe Reader
LiveCycle (actually this is another separate enterprise oriented Acrobat family of products.
Acrobat Standard and Acrobat Pro will each install several software programs on your computer. One of which is Acrobat Distiller. Acrobat Distiller is a program that is used to convert postscript files into pdf files. Acrobat Distiller used to be the only way to create postscript files. Now many users never use Distiller to create pdf files, hence its prominence is deminished.
