  • I attempted to install an update to my iTunes and got a "C   Runtime Error" message. Now when I attempt to open iTunes I get a pop up that says to reinstall iTunes. But I can't open iTunes to reinstall it. How can I reinstall iTunes?

I received notification of ANOTHER iTunes update being available, so I attempted to install the update on my Toshiba Satellite laptop running Windows Vista. During the update process, two pop-up announced that I had a "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" Runtime Error, R6034 and another pop-up that states "iTunes" iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. However, I cannot open iTunes. I get the same pop-up telling me to reinstall iTunes.
I had many songs in my iTunes library that came from sources other than iTunes, mostly my own CDs. Plus, I have nearly $100 credit remaining in the iTunes store. I'm converned I will lose the songs and store credit if I reinstall iTunes. So my questions are:
    1. How can I reinstall iTunes?
    2. If I reinstall it, will I lose my store credit and non-iTunes songs?
    Thanks,
    Jim

Nothing should be lost... However... it is both Prudent and Recommended that a backup should have been created and maintained.

I've had all kinds of trouble keeping my iTunes software current over the past year, but have found the easiest way to remedy the issue is to simply download the latest version of iTunes as though I am a first-time user and then just install it into the directory my current version of iTunes is using. Doing this has allowed me to update my software without losing any of my media/data. Hope this helps! Best of luck!!!

  • HT1349 Can I reinstall ITunes and not lose all my music ????

I am getting the message "MSVCR80.dll missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem."
Can I reinstall ITunes without losing all my music ????

    Hello,
"iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and shouldn't be deleted when you remove iTunes. While you probably won't lose any content in your iTunes Library when following these steps, it's always a good idea to back up your iTunes library."

How can I reinstall iTunes to my iPad2?  It was deleted in error by my grandson and now my app store does not work at all.

    Please explain
my app store does not work at all.
    Try resetting:
Hold both the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost.
...then try downloading it from the App Store again.

  • I was receiving error messages when my computer started up. It says MSVCR80.dll is missing. I attempted to reinstall iTunes but it keeps showing error installing. How can I reinstall iTunes?

I cannot update iTunes. It is giving me a error each time I tried. Upon turning on my computer I get a error message the MSVCR80.dll is missing. Thank you for any help you can provide me.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Needed to update to itunes 11.1 to install ios7 from itunes. it was not downloading the update file. so i thought it better to uninstall itunes (was using 11.05) and then reinstall. now i can't reinstall. when i attempt to download from the weblink, it just goes to the "thank you for downloading itunes" and it actually doesn't download anything. tried several times. even went online to chat with the advisors. they recommended resetting safari and try. did that. no change.
    im using OSX 10.6.8.
    NEED HELP....URGENTLY! Thanks guys.

Download iTunes using the tab at the top of this page. Then run the update with iTunes closed.

  • Can't reinstall itunes on windows 7 comp. Get error message "object already exists"

Difficulty reinstalling itunes on Windows7 machine. Despite uninstalling everything apple, I constantly get error message: "object already exists" and the install fails. I have gone through hard drive but can't find anything itunes or apple. Uninstalled everything apple in control panel. What am I missing?

Try opening Control Panel > Programs and Features > View installed updates then checking for the Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB2918614). , Uninstall if you have it, then reboot.
There is a strong hint here that it should resolve this issue, although personally I have that update installed and have been able to remove and reinstall iTunes without any problem.
Click for more on KB2918614 which is an update to the Windows Installer Service released July 12th 2014. The timing and nature of the update suggest a connection with the "Object already exists" issue which affects other installations as well as iTunes.

  • HT1926 I can't reinstall iTunes

II am using a Windows 7 computer and couldn't play iTunes (I could until a few days ago).  Ihe error message I got was:  Error 7 and Windows Error 126.
I uninstalled iTunes and then tried to reinstall iTunes.  This error message came up:  Service Aple Mobile Device failed to start.
I hit ignore but that didn't work.  I hit retry but that didn't work.  So, I've unstalled iTunes and can't reinstall.
    What now?

    Try the below procedure.
Follow the below procedure if you are using a Windows based PC.   I did not develop it, another forum user did (turingtest2) , but I did insert 1 additional step in case you use a 3rd party software package to give your apple devices "Airprint" capability for your non Air Print capable printers (Such as Fingerprint).
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
Any 3rd party software which uses Airprint features (such as Fingerprint by Collobos)
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or by right-clicking the downloaded installer and selectingRun as Administrator.

  • Must I delete TuneKit before I can successfully reinstall iTunes?

Hey, folks - I've been trying to uninstall and then reinstall itunes, and am hitting a brick wall.  I followed the instructions on the Apple help page to the letter (in order: iTunes, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour, Apple Application Support; - emptied trash, then restarted), to no avail.  Then I uninstalled QuickTime, emptied trash, restarted.  Still no dice.
The only other Apple thing on my PC is "TuneKit".  Should I delete that, too? A Google search has gotten me nowhere, so experienced help will be gratefully received!
Really bugs me that Apple does not have a diagnostic tool for use by anybody who purchases music through them.  Geez, charge another .25 per tune, and provide that tool for people!

I've researched more, and am revising my question.
    1. I have found several Non-Apple sites that insist that Quicktime must be uninstalled as #2 in the order I listed above, although Apple does not even mention Quicktime.  Comments?
    2. Am I correct that TuneKit is part of an artist's file, and therefore cannot/should not be removed?
    3. Any advice as to what the heck I'm missing will be gratefully received.
BTW, I won't do regedit - had a nasty experience a couple of years back with some other software that was as tricky to uninstall as iTunes, and learned my lesson.  I'll call a licensed geek before I touch the registry!

  • HT1349 how can I reinstall itunes if without lossing purchased music?

I have to reinstall itunes without loosing the music saved there already, the burner got corrupted and I didnt back up the music purchased.

Your iTunes data is not stored in the same place as the program files so uninstalling or reinstalling iTunes will not cause you to lose your data.
Your iTunes library data is located in the iTunes folder in Music.
    Mac OS X: /Users/username/Music/iTunes/
    Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\
    Windows Vista: C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes\
    Windows 7: C:\Users\username\My Music\iTunes\

  • Can't reinstall iTunes on Windows 7 64 bit machine, tried everything

Hi, I've followed the threads fromb noir and others with similar errors and 'no joy'   Here is my situation:
I have a windows 7 64 bit machine that I upgraded from Windows XP.  I upgraded about a year ago, no problem.  I got an iPhone (love it) and was synching to my windows machine for months, no problems.  Not sure what the trigger was (think it was an iTunes SW update) but I started getting error messages and the phone would no longer synch.
I uninstalled itunes, then when I tried to reinstall I got different errors.  I googled the error message and related ones, and tried the following:
    - I ran the fix for Windows Update. It said it resovled problems, but it is still behaving strange.  It shows successful updates, but when I ask it to check for new updates, it just keeps looking and never completes.  In the background, it appears to be actually making updates which it shows as successfully installed.
    - I updated the C++ redistributable package and the .NET package from the MSFT website.
    - I've uninstalled all the components of Apple several times, tired the trick of deleting the previously downloaded components and updated manually, etc.
Here is the first message I get when I try to install Itunes64Setup.
An error occurred during the installation of assembly "Microsoft VC80.CRT,type="win32",version = "8.0.50727.6195".publick key token = 1fc8b3b9ale18e3b.processor architecture = "x86". Please refer to help and support for more information. HResult:0x8007002
Appreciate any help or guidance - hoping to avoid having to reinstall Windows again.

Can someone please respond to my request for support?  I tried the provided correct answer at https://discussions.apple.com/message/11561783#11561783  but it did not work.
I also got a MSFT tech support person to remotely look at my machine, for what its worth, he said the registry file is fine and to contact Apple support.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
