Can't reinstall Lightroom 5

It installed on C:   I install all my software on F: due to size restictions on the solid state drive.
I updated my installation preferences (again) and went to reinstall, but i cannot get the "up to date" message to go away.
BTW, - kind of annoying that the AAP didnt remember the path change from its previous version.  I ended up wasting a few hours uninstalling/reinstalling software..

I have a Creative Cloud membership and it's telling me that Lightroom is "up to date" in Adobe Application Manager -- but I can't find it on my hard drive, even with a search for "lightroom", "photoshop lightroom" or "adobe photoshop lightroom".
What gives here? I need to use Lightroom but I can't find it or redownload it. This is NOT an advantage with the Creative Cloud if there are bugs in the system.
I finally did an online search and found a trial version of  Lightroom 5 and have downloaded it, figuring that I can always check with tech support in the morning to work all this out, but still have the program to work with this evening.
Can a support person please help me debug why Lightroom appears as up to date when it doesn't seem to actually exist on my computer?
UPDATE: I just tried to install Lightroom 5 and found out I need Mac OS 10.7 to run it (I'm still using 10.6.8), so I'll have to find Lightroom 4 and download it. All the other CC apps seem to run on Snow Leopard just fine. Why the 10.7 requirement for Lightroom? It's very frustrating.

As long as you have the serial number you should not have an issue installing and activating Lightroom when you finish the system reinstall.

Elaine please keep in mind this is a public forum.  I have removed the serial number from your post as you were leaving the serial number available for anyone to use.
What exact difficulty are you facing?  Are you no longer able to locate the installation media you received when you purchased Photoshop Lightroom 3?  Which operating system are you using?

My Mac crashed. I got a new hard drive. I reinstalled Lightroom. Fortunately ircats are stored on an external drive. How do I import all of the old catalogues from external drive into a new LR catalogue. I have done it before. It has just been many years and I can't recall how.

If you had stored your catalog files on an external drive, then all you have to do is double-click on them to open them and use them.
Or you could move them to the internal drive and double-click on them once the move is completed.
To create a single catalog file from multiple ones, you could use File->Import from Another Catalog

It's cack - but then, I've never been a fan of images that look like the subject matter has just been hit by a nuclear detonation, and I've never aspired to "one click and done".
It used to come with Bibble/Aftershot Pro, and in all the years I used those converters, I didn't find a use for Perfectly Clear once. Admittedly they've expanded its function considerably since, but it's still a gimmicky "everything boosted to eleven" gadget.
Put it this way: Ken Rockwell's a fan!
All that said, it's probably better than Lr's "auto" functions. I suppose if you believe that a piece of software can guess what's best for an image better than what you can arrive at by using your own eyes, it might have merit, but "gimmick" sums it up for me.

  • Can't uninstall lightroom in creative cloud

I wasn't using Lightroom (for some reason I had both 4 and 5 installed on my computer) and so I followed Adobe's directions in deleting them by moving the .app files to the trash.
I also checked to make sure there weren't any preferences in my library (I'm on a Mac), and also deleted all the files in the /picture folder.
Despite all of this, Lightroom is still in my Creative Cloud doc—both Lightroom 4 and 5.
And Creative Cloud prompted me to "update" Lightroom 5, and so I allowed it just to see how it would behave. It is now completely reinstalling Lightroom 5.
(Lightroom 4 just has the green check mark next to it indicated that it is up to date).
What must I do to fix this problem?
    Thank you!

you can try this way Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6

I am running OS X Yosemite on my four year old MacBook Pro which has become progressively slower and is loaded with applications I no longer use. I plan to start afresh by formatting a new 1TB SSD as a boot disk and reinstalling Lightroom 5 and PhotoShop CC.
Is there a list of the files and/or folders that contain Settings and Preferences which can be copied from the old system to the new?

with your cc apps you should try to use the sync feature.  that's never worked consistently for me, but when it does work, it's helpful.
there are preference folders and presets and settings that you could copy but you're better off installing fresh because a common problem for people with adobe program issues is a settings issue.

  • After installing OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 on my MacBook Pro i can't start Lightroom 5. Photoshop CC runs okay

Hi, After having installed OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 on my MacBook Pro I can´t start Lightroom 5. Trying to do so there only appears a very short picture of blue start. I've tried to reinstall Lightroom 5.

I've solved the problem. I've removed all Adobe programs and started from the very beginning.
