Can't reinstall quicktime pro

I had to uninstall quick time pro because it was not working. I installed regular quick time, but it keeps telling me the only way to reinstall my quicktime pro is to buy another one. Even though I still have my activation code. How do I reintstall? help plz

QT Pro keys are good only for the version that was in effect at the time of purchase. If your previous key was for Qt 6 then you will need to buy a new one for QT7. if you are planning on re-installing the version in effect when you paid for your key then you will not have to buy a new key.
Previous versions of QT should be available through this link:

  • How can I reinstall QuickTime Pro on Win7?

I purchased QuickTime Pro in September. Then this week, I upgraded my PC from Windows XP to Windows 7. In doing so, I had to wipe out my PC's partition and re-install every program back on my PC.
This has been a relatively painless process, except for QuickTime Pro. I re-installed Quick Time 7 (the free version) on my PC but there appears to be no way to upgrade the free version of QT back to Pro without purchasing this product all over again (and I refuse to do that).
I've tried talking to Apple's technical support. They've given me directions written for previous versions of Windows, but there appears to be no instructions for how to upgrade to QT Pro if you have Windows 7.
I've been on the phone with their technical support for the past two hours and no one at Apple appears to know how I could reinstall QuickTime Pro.
    I'm astonished.

Here's the link to retrieve your lost registration key http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2376
What version of QT did you have on XP? If you had QT version 6.X pro then you would have to purchase a new QT pro key for QT 7. As Apple releases complete new versions of QT they require a new pro key, updates to a version do not. In other words the pro key for QT 6 does not work with QT 7.
And if you were using QT pro 6.X you cannot revert back to that version. Because QT 6 doesn't support windows 7

  • Need to reinstall Quicktime Pro on Windows 7

I have been trying to reinstall Quicktime Pro onto Windows 7. I got a new computer with Windows 7. I used to have Quicktime Pro on my old PC - Windows XP. I know the product key. But forgot the order number (dummy me, I forgot to save that email). I hope I don't have to buy it again.

Oh, I found my information about my purchase. Good thing I saved it (Didn't think I did). Hope I can download it and reinstall it without having to pay for it again.

I had Premier pro given me by the college I attend and do no use wi fi and do not use cloud. My laptop completely died and will be sent back to Apple for exchange. How can I reinstall Premier Pro on a new Apple computer since the old one is completly dead and could not be unregistered?

    Hi,
You have not specified which version of Premiere Pro was given to you. If you don't have the disc (which i suppose you don't have) you will have to download it online.
As far as your registration is concerned, for Premiere Pro CS6 or earlier you will have to reach Adobe chat support for further help: http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
For Premiere Pro CC and later, you will not have much problems reactivating it.
    Thanks,
    Rameez

  • How can I get quicktime pro 7 running

I bought quicktime pro 7 a couple of years ago and have a registration code.  At the time I used the program to make some time lapse movies.  I'd like to make a couple of time lapse movies again but quicktime pro 7 is no where to be found.  This probably ha something to do with updating the os between then and now.  The question is how can I get quicktime pro 7 running again?  The unlocking instructions I have for quicktime pro 7 that I received with the key do not correspond with what the system preferences now show.  Any assistance would be appreciated.  I am currently running OS X version 10.9.5 on an older iMac.

Open the QuickTime 7 player(if it’s not installed, click here), choose Registration from the QuickTime Player 7 menu, and supply your key there.

  • How can I uninstall Quicktime Pro 7.4.5 and then install on a new system?

    Hi,
How can I uninstall Quicktime Pro 7.4.5 and then install on a new system?
I've got a new computer and I want to uninstall Quicktime Pro 7.4.5 and then install on the new system. Maybe I'm overlooking something, but a bunch of other applications have easy 'uninstall' functions right in the application toolbar. Why doesn't Quicktime?????
    Thanks.

I've read that Q/T is not just a simple application but in reality, a major component of the OS. This is where it varies from other similar acting apps like WMV, AVI, FLV etc. To butress this statement, in a vague way, I remember seeing a graphic of the Mac OS when Apple was first pushing "X". QuickTime was in the same general area of depth in programming as UNIX.
So, you might not want to delete all of QuickTime just the Reg Key which should/could/might put you back to the non Q/T Pro functionality and thence legal to install on another machine.
Just be certain that the version on the new machine is the same as on the old machine or expect to buy a new $30 key.
    Cheers-
    Mark

I enter the correct serial number but then get asked to select a prior product, in my case Acrobat Pro 9, and enter the serial number (this is the number that appears in my account), but there is nowhere to enter the serial number. And if I try to reinstall Pro 9 it won't let me. Do I have to deinstall Pro X first, or what? ALl input welcomed, thanks. Shanter

Thanks Bill, that seems to have done the trick. I am now successfully

  • Reinstalled OSX now can't activate QUICKTIME PRO

I got my powerbook about 2 months ago, and it came with quicktime pro. I recently reinstalled osx but cant activate the qt to pro. My registration used to say apple customer or something similar.
Im kinda stuck so if anyone can help i would really appreciate it.
    David

    David, welcome to these discussions.
I've never heard of Apple shipping the "Pro" upgrade of QuickTime on anything.
It does come as part of their "high end" Pro applications such as Final Cut and DVD Studio.
Have you re-installed those apps? I don't think they use a "printed" registration information and the "Registered to:" name is / (was?) Pro User.
You may find a Software Update is also needed for the special "Pro Apps" software.

  • How can I reinstall Quicktime X in Lion?

OK, to make a long story short, I had a new audio problem in the Quicktime X Player after installing Lion (that I oddly enough didn't have in QuickLook, QuickTime Player 7, or VLC), and I assumed a reinstallation was in order (because I also assumed I had mucked something up by trashing some "orphan" files with TrashMe). I thought I couldn't reinstall Quicktime X Player from the Lion installation package without another two-hour-plus download, so I reinstalled it from my Snow Leopard installation disc using Pacifist naively assuming Software Update would bring me back up to date. Well, that didn't work, and now I have a copy of Quicktime X Player that won't run on Lion. I tried redownloading the Lion installation package and reinstalling the correct version of Quicktime X Player with Pacifist again, but Pacifist can't handle Lion's installation package (it crashes when you try to install or extract anything). Well, I don't have a backup, so that's not an option, and I don't have any external devices large enough to back up my files and applications, so a clean install with Lion Recovery isn't an attractive option either. Is there any way I can install Quicktime X Player on my computer again without wipping my hard drive? Is it safe to let the original Lion intallation process I downloaded from the app store run again? Will it simply replace the relevant existing files no-harm-no-foul, or will I just further muck things up?

Yeah, I don't feel like taking any more risks. Obviously, I don't know what I'm doing.
On the support.apple.com article on Lion Recovery, it says "These steps will erase and reformat the storage device. This article will instruct you on setting up the storage device to use the GUID partition scheme and the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format, which are required to install Lion and an Internet Restore partition on your external storage device. You should back up any important files that are on the device to a different drive."
I understand the necessity of a backup option, but I need to replace a failed superdrive, and that gets budget priority over reinstalling Quicktime. (My MacBook Pro, bought in Japan, shipped with a defective superdrive that could read but not burn - it could never burn and was just plain broken. I wasn't willing to part from my laptop long enough to get it replaced while it was still under warranty, let alone deal with Japanese Apple support, but now I have something that I need to burn by the end of the week.)

  • Can you use Quicktime Pro on more than one computer?

I'm thinking about buying a Quicktime Pro 7 key, but I couldn't tell if it is just for one computer, or if I could use it for both my iMac and labtop. Anyone know? Thanks.

You can, but it's against the EULA.

  • I can't register quicktime pro

I have the free version of quicktime 7 and I just bought quicktime 7 pro at applestore.com but I can't register it.
I quick quicktime and opened system preferences, clicked quicktime and chose register. Then I typed in my name and the registration code exactly as they appear in the conformation e-mail. The only buttons available to click at the bottom are "about quicktime" and "buy quicktime pro," so I just hit enter, hoping that would work. The words invalid registration appeared.
I have tried this over and over, for hours, but can't seam to figre out what the problem is. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. Thanks

  • What is the maximum file size I can import to Quicktime Pro 7?

I have some clips that are 2-3 GB in size. Can I import these into Quicktime Pro 7 and edit them? For example cut them in half so each reduced file size half can be opened in other software that has a 2 GB limit?
Also, can I save a Quicktime file as MPEG-4?
    Thank you!

If the files are in a format that QuickTime understands then there really isn't a file size limit.
QuickTime Player Pro can export most formats that it can open to MPEG-4 codec formats.
