Can't reload music on ipod from backup location
I have my C: drive partition in two parts which means I have a D: drive as well. My music is on the D: drive and I have told itunes that is where the library is.
Now for the problem. I have tried to reset, rebooted, told it to synch automatic, told it I will do it manual but nothing helps. Done everything I can think of but still the music does not appear in the library so of course I can't load it on my ipod 30G. Also, I have reset the ipod itself not that that matters much.

Why not leave the actual library files on the default C: path?
What are the iTunes library files?
Then just have the actual music files on the D: drive.
Otherwise, you are going to need TweakUI (Microsoft XP Power tool from the MS website) to move it, since the My Music folder is a special Windows folder.

But in terms of my initial query; thanks for responding. But no, this is NOT the cause of the problem. I have auto sync and sync over wifi activated, but have also selected manually manage music and videos. Plus, all of my music and videos are on my macbook, absolutely all of it, so if it my phone was syncing with my macbook everything would still be on the phone. Life would be peachy if my phone jsut copied everything that was on my macbook, but unfortuantely it keeps deleting tracks for no apparent reason.
Any thoughts greatly welcomed, because at the moment i can only conclude that my iphone is crap. -

Normally, when I connect an iOS device to my Mac, under the "Music" tab, I am given the option to sync music to the device. However, when I connect my daughter's iPod Touch with a USB cable, under the Music tab it looks like this:

This is on a Mac Mini running iTunes 10, OS X 10.7.4.Sounds like the your daughter's iPod was synced to another computer/iTunes library. you can only sync automatically with one iTunes library/computer. You can however copy music and videos from any iTunes library/computer if you sync manually. See that method included here:

No. Purchased music, movies and other iTunes media is permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase it and can't be transferred to another ID. (Your purchases are stored in iTunes in the Cloud under the Apple ID used to purchase them.)

When I try to drag a song over to my phone, I get the circle w/ the syncing line through it, but it does not update/load.

Have you tried resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if your Music app is behaving normally.

Possibly. Media Go supports a variety of music formats, some of which can be imported in to iTunes and then synced on to an iPhone, however some of its formats cannot be imported in to iTunes.
See http://mediago.sony.com/enu/supported-file-formats/ for a list of formats supported by Media Go. iTunes for Windows supports MP3, AAC, WAV, and can import and convert WMA files as well. However iTunes does not support ATRAC, or FLAC.
Furthermore, if some of your music has been bought from an Internet music store it might be procted by DRM. If so it cannot be imported in to iTunes.
To do the importing you would either drag the music files in to iTunes, or tell iTunes to open them. See http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1347 -

I can't see music/video files from my iPad2 or Nano on my Phillips home theatre. Do I need to covert the files?
The problem is I can no longer back up my photo and video files taken on my phone, saved to my mac, by copying them and saving them on a USB stick or other external hard drive.
Select the photos and videos in Photos and use the command "File > Export" and select a folder on your USB stick to save the photos to. -

I have a RMAN backup and want to recover my data from backup. RMAN backup has taken by someone but during restore to another DB server I am confused at controlfile point. I can see two controlfile in RMAN backup. Do I need to add both controlfile in restore command or any one controlfile would be okay? Please suggest.

Or else you can check from source database
RMAN> list backup of controlfile;
Note that backup piece according to date, and you can use that piece name to restore controlfile. -

Oh the ...olk14_message's. Do not delete them behind Outlooks back, i.e., from the finder. Those are the various messages that you sent, received, or deleted in Outlook. They are indexed by Outlook so if you delete behind Outlook's back Outlook will get confused trying to access those messages.
You can delete them however using Outlook itself. In outlook select a mailbox (Drafts, Sent Items, Deleted Items, etc.) by clicking on the mailbox on the left. It will show you the messages in that mailbox. You can now select all or selected items in that mailbox. The click the Edit menu and select Delete. You will get a dialog asking if you really want to delete the selections. Answer "Delete" and the messages will get deleted.
The olk14_message's you are seeing are the actual messages shown the Outlook mail boxes. When you actually delete them the way I just described the corresponding olk14_message files will also be deleted.
Note Outlook's Deleted Items mailbox is where all deleted messages go when you click the Delete tool in the Outlook toolbar. Thus using the Delete tool from the toolbar does not permanently delete the messages. So if you been using that for months or years you are going to have a very large Deleted Items mailbox. And every one of those items in there is going to have a corresponding olk14_message file for that message.
So if those olk14_message files you are seeing are from the Deleted Items mailbox you can get rid of all those corresponding olk14_message files by selecting all the messages in Deleted Items and using the Edit menu's Delete.
Alternative ways to the Edit/Delete to do the permanent delete is select (all) the messages to delete and control (right) click to bring up the Outlook contextual menu and select Delete from it.
Finally if you use the Delete tool in the toolbar for messages selected in the Deleted Items mailbox you will be able to permanently delete those too. It's an exception since using the tool on the Deleted Items means there's no place to put those messages except to "oblivion".
So, in summary, using the Delete tool in the toolbar on messages in every mailbox except the Deleted Items mailbox just moves messages to the Deleted Items mailbox. But using the Delete tool on items in them Deleted Items mailbox permanently deletes the selected items in there. And only permanently deleting items removes the corresponding actual ...olk14_message files. -

Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay. -
