Can't remember how I made simple shining sun in Photoshop CS (see attachment)

About a year ago I made a shining sun effect in Adobe CS Photoshop. I started with a transparent layer, selected a round shape with the elliptical marquee tool and filled with yellow. I then blurred the edges by ???? Can anyone tell me how to get this effect? I only know that I could keep on "blurring" the edges as much or as little as I wanted to. I need to know because the sun attachment is too bright for the rest of the scene and needs to be toned down. Please explain as if talking to a beginner - that's what I am. Thanks in advance.

Another, more sophisticated way to do it, and which will allow you to adjust the blur in either direction would be to add the sun as a vector mask by using the Ellipse Tool, then adjusting Feather to taste in the MASKS panel.
1. Choose a sky blue foreground color, then create your sky blue background e.g., by using the Paint Bucket Tool.
2. Choose a yellow foreground color, and activate the Ellipse Tool in the toolbox. Make sure Shape Layers is selected in the options area in the Photoshop main window.
3. Draw your sun, holding down the shift key to keep the ellipse a perfect circle.
4. Make the MASKS panel visible via Window - Masks.
5. Dial in the Feather that you like for softening the edges.

I have had my ipod touch 4th generation for a couple months now.... Nowhere in the manuals or help sections does it tell me how to make individual pucture files(like that already on my computer) put onto my ipod touch.... I managed to make one and I can't remember how I did it but when I have the touch hooked up to itunes and try to pick which picture files from my computer to sync, a box always opens and says that it will delete everything in the original photo library that was in there.....
Can anyone help me there has to be away, I know someone has done it but they don't live here to show me!!!!

where on my computer am I suppose to make the individual picture files and have them to upload on my ipod touch.... I do have a photo library on my computer, but in the photo tab in itunes for the ipod touch and there is nothing checked for syncing, cause when I do check it it always says its going to replace everything i have in my photo library on my ipod touch..... So how am i suppose to have it checked and have it NOT replace pictures on it????
Also I cannot make more photo albums into my ipod touch, it just replaces the one album every time....
I am very frustrated cause I have tried the manuals and the apple support help etc and nothing pertains to my exact issue.....

The way that Dropbox works is that it keeps a copy of all your files in your local Dropbox folder on your hard drive (which is, by default, directly under your home folder). Adding files to that folder will sync them to the Dropbox server.
You do of course have to download the Dropbox application to enable this (download link at the top right of http://dropbox.com ).

If it was working before and you are on the same BB, I suggest doing these steps:
Full reboot:
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation.
If that does not restore the delivery of your emails, then re-push your service books:

Lastly, since it's HotMail, it may be that you have not done the recently required re-validation:

Do you mean bookmark folders? i.e. you can arrange all of your Sports Sites in the same folder. If so then click on Bookmarks and click the all bookmark folder.

I was expecting to get a message to install my serial numbers.

You downloaded the trial version for the creative cloud. It doesn't work with a serial number. It is licensed differently. You will have to uninstall it and then download and install from here:

I have a Mac OSX 10.6.8. I can't remember where to put new fonts and/or how to install them in Photoshop. I've been searching the web and have found no useful info! I downloaded the new fonts to Library/Fonts, but that's obviously not the main place to keep them so Photoshop can find them. Where should they be, and do I have to do something special to install them in Photoshop? (I have Photoshop CS5 Extended 12.0.1)

Installing new fonts is very easy. All you need to do is:
Double-click on the font.ttf file
Click on “Install Font”
When you double click on a font file, other than being able to install it, you’ll also see a font character preview showing the font face. This window will also let you preview any stylized versions (bold, italic, etc) of the font that are available and tell you if it’s installed or not. This is done through the Font Book app, which can also be launched separately to manage your typefaces.

I saw Corey Barker do a demo where he extracted an image from the background, then cleaned up the edge with a process that allowed him to de-fringe it. I can't remember how he did it. And I can't find it. Help!

I saw Corey Barker do a demo a few weeks ago where he extracted an image from the background, then used a technique I was not familiar with to clean it up. You selected the area, then did something that involved going either to edit or select, then there was a dialog box that allowed you to dial it in, depending on the color background you were removing. I can't find this anywhere. Can't remember. It's driving me crazy! If someone can help me find this, I would be very glad and grateful. Thanks! Laura

In technical support, sometimes you have to make educated guesses. I'm sorry that you were offended.
iTunes does prompt when it is going to erase a device, and the message is clear.
She said in her message that she was able to successfully sync the old ipad. This indicated to me that itunes wiping the data was not an issue, because either it had been setup at the apple store (in which case it doesn't actually wipe the ipad despite saying it will*) (*based on a single case I saw), or because the itunes media folder was migrated.
Furthermore, my solution was to tell her how to backup her ipad (by either doing it manually, or as a last resort, by deleting the corrupt backup -- that she couldn't access anyway.)
I got that last part of the instructions from the "Taking Control of your iphone" book which I found samples of when I did a google search for "corrupted backup itunes".
She marked this as a solution, so it worked for her.
