Can't remove add ons from status bar

I added weather apps at bottom status bar after app dissapeared. The new ones take up the whole bar and I don't like it. Now I can't get rid of them.

how did you uninstall that software? did you simply trash the application? that wasn't the proper way to do it since the app used an installer to install. there should be an uninstaller that came with that app. try using that. you might have to reinstall that software first. if that doesn't work then you have to search out what exactly that software installed. there could be login items. check those in system preferences->accounts. or there could be some launch daemons. check homedirectory/Library/Launchagents, /Library/launchagents and /Library/launchdaemons. but definitely try the uninstaller first.

Can't remove unwanted item from menu bar

I recently purchased a Western Digital My Book HD to use for backups. The HD included software which I stupidly thought I needed to use it, so I installed it. I quickly realized I didn't need it and uninstalled the software, however it has left an icon in my menu bar which I can't seem to get rid of. Is there a way to make it go away or am I stuck now?

On-line instructions say there should be a "Remove" control, but I do not see it.

OK. I got rid of it using the method at the first link, and I also got rid of some other junk that way (Norton, etc.). But the thing that I noticed is that "Plug-Ins" in both TB and FF DO NOT have a remove control - that only exists in the "Extensions" list. I have a bunch of unused extensions I would rather delete than have hanging around, but the only choice I have is the mode of activation (never, always, ask). Am I missing something?

If your question is actually about removing content (you know how to add content), you are probably using the manual method to add content, and don't know how to manually remove content. For iTunes 12, on the horizontal bar that goes across the iTunes window (near the top), click the Music button near the left end. Near the middle of same bar, click Playlists. The sidebar appears along left side of window and Devices, your iPod is listed. Click the small triangle to the left of the iPod's name, to drop down its content list (indented below iPod). Click Music there. To the right, the list of songs on the iPod is shown. Select the song you want to remove and press Delete on the keyboard. You can do this with one or more songs selected.
You can also use the iPod's "management" screen. Select the iPod in iTunes, so that you see its Summary settings screen. In the sidebar, under On My Device, click Music. This is the same as on the "content list" described above.

Is there a way to block add-ons from being installed in Firefox, even add-ons coming from 3rd party sites?

I work in a small call center and I have been working on trying to convince IT and management to use Firefox on the computers on the call floor. The main issue I have been having in convincing them, is that you can't block add-ons and things like that as easily as in IE. I thought I had it with blocking addons.mozilla.org, which wouldn't allow access to Mozilla's add-on site. However, with that, techs would still be able to go to 3rd party sites, generally the creators of the add-ons, and download them there. Anybody have any ideas on how to stop this?

You can configure Firefox settings to notify you before installing an add-on.

How can I remove individual songs from my iphone 5? Right now, all 2013 songs are syncing. I thought that unchecking the songs in the main itunes playlist would remove them form all devices. Apparently this does not work. Under the uphone 5 sync menu there are no selections for individual songs... only groups of songs. Am I missing something?

I just create a playlist and sync only this playlist.
Then just add/remove from this playlist and sync.
Unchecking songs does other thing such as not playing them in iTunes, not syncing them to other devices and not applying changes

How can I remove people tags from MULTIPLE images in Organizer 13? The strategy for removing keyword tags does not work. It appears that keyword tags and People tags are considered something completely different in 13. I highlight multiple images, right click, and under keyword tags it says there are no keyword tags. The explanation of how to remove add-ons tells you to click on menu (and then 3 parrelel bars) What menu is that? I figured out(by trying each and every menu until I figured out it was the tools menu. when I get to the last step it says click the remove button. There is NO remove button at that point (just an enable button which is the last thing I want to do. I am talking about the Cinema ploos extension. It represents it's self as an upgrade with many improved features, but all it is is an add bot that is noisy and obnoxious and they want a one time fee (extorsion) to remove it

Can't remove old episodes from iPod sine Update!

I have a Shuffle & usually carry 3-5 episodes each of 8-10 different podcasts. Sine installing the new iTunes for Windows, I can't remove old eps from the device, & it's a total crapshoot as to which NEW episodes the system will allow me to click on!!

There are several ways to add podcast episodes to the shuffle, so please correct my assumptions in a reply. How you add podcasts determines how you remove them. I can't tell how you do it from the info you provide.
It sound like you may add podcast episodes manually (drag and drop to iPod). If you do, and your shuffle is 3rd or 4th (current) gen, you should consider doing it using automatic syncing, by putting podcast episodes on a playlist (in your iTunes library and syncing it to the shuffle). Update the playlist at any time, by adding new podcast episodes and removing old ones (the shuffle does not need to be connected). Put the podcast episodes in desired order. iTunes automatically updates the shuffle the next time it is connected (or by clicking Sync if already connected). On the shuffle, you can listen to podcasts from that playlist, and hear episodes from different podcasts consecutively, in the desired order.
When you remove podcast episodes manually, is this the way you do it? Again, this is for 3rd or 4th gen shuffle. Select the shuffle in iTunes, so that you see its "management" screen. In the sidebar, under On My Device, click Podcasts. To the right, the podcast episodes currently on the shuffle are shown. Select the one(s) you want to remove an press Delete on the keyboard.
