    Hi 8ublessed,
I will agree with Test Screen Name, there is very less information to figure out the root cause of the issue you are facing. If you want to remove Adobe Reader, please use the cleaner tool - http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

  • Can't remove adobe reader x--plugin for container problem message?

Adobe reader x installed but doesn't function. Tried to uninstall and this message appears.

Firefox has a side program called plugin-container.exe. Maybe the error indicates that plugin-container.exe is still running?? If exiting Firefox does not let you uninstall Adobe Reader X, you might try restarting Windows and going straight to the uninstall without restarting Firefox.

  • How can I remove adobe reader x?

I hate this version I want 9 back but want to remove X first. Heaven forbid Adobe have an uninstall.
Is it as simple as trashing the Application form the applications folder? Is there anything else to trash?
    Thanks,
    Marcantonio

    Thanks sig,
That worked. I then went to http://get.adobe.com/reader/completion/?installer=Reader9.4_English_for_MacIntel to download AR 9.4 and it is working like a champ.
FYI - AR X seems very powerful, but it I do not need the additional features. And what I did need, X was lacking. I need the Find/Search box in the toolbar which X does not have, it requires you to open Find, an extra step. Also, when printing, I hated how I needed to go to the Printer button, at the bottom of the AR print screen, just to set things like Layout and Paper Feed, etc. It will be interesting to see how other react to X.
    I appreciate all the help.

  • Can I remove Adobe 9 after I installed 11.2?

Can I remove Adobe Reader 9 after I installed XI?

You shouldn't have two different versions installed anyway - so yes. You may find it best to uninstall both, then put Reader XI back.

  • How can I download adobe reader 11

I am running windows 7 and can't download adobe reader. The download stops about 75% of the way through the process and a message says  that Windows installer does not permit updating of managed advertised products. At least one feature of the product must be installed before applying the update. I had reader installed but uninstalled it because I could not print documents. Every sense I uninstalled it I have not been able to install it again.

You can try using this tool to remove all traces of previous version(s) of Reader:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you may download the offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • Removing Adobe Reader

I am using a PC with XP sp3.
I don't seem to be able to remove Adobe Reader 10.0.1 from my hard drive. When I try to use"MS's add/remove programs" to remove Reader, the msg I get is "feature is on a resource that is unavailable".  When I go to the actual file under Programs and try to put the Adobe file folder into the trash, the msg I get is "Cannot delete Identity-H".  (I can't find that file as a separate file in MS search.) What do I do?
I want to start over with a reinstall of v10.1.0 because I keep getting an "updating Adobe Reader" message every few days, and I sense that this too often.  Can my unremovable version of Adobe Reader have been compromised with a key logger or some virus that is sending out some of my data, rather than actually updating my installed version, as often as every few days?

Your Reader installation may be corrupted; use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility (http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459) to remove the corrupted installation.

  • Can I install Adobe Reader to a drive other than the C: drive?

Can I install Adobe Reader to a drive other than the C: drive?

    Hello there,
Welcome to Adobe Community. Yes it can be installed on a different drive. Though some of the files installed by it will still be installed on C: drive.
When you run the installer, use 'Change destination folder' at the bottom of the panel
If you already have Adobe Reader installed on the C: drive, you must uninstall it before installing a new version on a different location.
    Thanks!

  • Can't update Adobe Reader 10.01 (Mac Version)

I am running OS 10.6.7 on a MacPro (MacPro 4,1: 8 core - - 2mx 2.93 FHz Quad-Core Xeon). I installed Adobe Reader 10.01 uneventufully. However, many times when on the web Safari says it can't find Adobe Reader to read a document and I have to locate Adobe Reader manually. This didn't happen until after I updated to Acrobat 10.01. Thinking that this might be a bug, I looked for an update for Acrobat Reader. But when I attempt to update Adobe Reader to 10.03, it goes through the motions and then gives the follolwing error message:
"The update could not be applied because the Adobe Reader application contents were modified since the original installation."
"Please reinstall Adobe Reader and check for updates again."
    "Error 1301"
I followed directions, reinstalled Adobe Reader and immediately afterwards attempted to install the update. Same error message.
I threw out the old version of Adobe Reader 10.01, downloaded it again, reinstalled it and then attempted the update, Same error message.
I've repaired permissions, used AppleJack to clean caches, used DiskWarrior to rebuild the directory. Same error message when attempting to update Adobe Reader.
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks.

REFRESH - I have this same problem. I would like to update this, since I understand there are various security fixes included with each update of Adobe Reader. Is this correct? If no one has an answer, then how can I trash the updater so I at least don't get this annoying message anymore??? It pops up EVERY STINKING DAY!!!

  • Can't Get Adobe Reader 8.1 to Open in Windows XP

All of a sudden, I can't get Adobe Reader to open in the Windows XP environment on my laptop. Message: "Adobe Reader 8.1 has encountered a problem and needs to close..." [Error Signature: AppName: acrord32.exe AppVer: 8.1.0.137 ModName: mvcr70.dl ModVer: 7.0.9466.0 Offset: 000013d6] Have tried everything I could think of: uninstalling previous versions, reinstalling 8.1 from the website, disabling Norton 360 protection while downloading. Anybody know what gives and how to fix it?

    >When this many people are having this many problems with the program, Adobe has a problem.
For every one person that's having a problem here, there could be fifty more that aren't.
The ones that aren't typically don't come here and talk about it.
    >If you read through the Adobe Bulletin Boards you can see that there are many, many people having trouble with Adobe Reader 8.1.
And if you read far enough to see the solutions, you'll notice a big trend in user errors.
I'm not saying Reader doesn't have it's issues (sure it does), just saying that there are no more issues with it than there are with any application.
