Can't remove some nonexistent podcasts from my library.

I have a small problem, I have four podcasts to which I'm no longer subscribed. The problem is, I can't take them out of my library. I made a smart playlist to find them, but since they don't come up under 'Music' I'm unable to delete them.
I don't have a recent backup of my iTunes Directory, is there any way to remove these renegade podcasts?

Since I discovered my own solution, I will document it here:
1. Copied the Original Backup files from my first TM backup set into their original folders using Finder
2. Used spotlight to find these files in the folder
3. Start TM and it can find this folder then right click and "Delete All Backups..." of the folder and TM actually deletes the folders from the backup set, hardlinks etc. through the following backups....
4. Exit TM and trash/delete the duplicate I created from the backup set

  • Can't remove my old podcast from store

I’m in a strange situation, I hope someone can help.
My organisation in the UK (RNIB) has a few podcasts listed in the iTunes store which I have uploaded recently and they are up to date.
But I can also see “The RNIB Podcast” in the listings, which is from a few years ago and hasn’t been updated in a long time. We’ve launched a new website in that time and there’s been plenty of staff changes so no one knows where this RSS file is saved and where these podcast episodes are being pulled from.
The individual episodes from this podcast are available to be downloaded, but when I click on the podcast name I get a message saying it’s not available in the UK store. So I can’t get to the page for the podcast in order to click on the “report a concern” link and ask for it to be removed.
Also, I thought iTunes would stop listing podcasts that haven’t been updated in a long time, but this one still persists.
I’ve been round and round with iTunes store support and basically ended up with the answer that it’s too technical and they can’t help.
Does anyone know how I can fix this, or how I can find where the RSS file is so I can try and delete it from the source, presumably somewhere on our servers.
Thanks for your help with this confusing problem!

Although searching doesn't bring up that podcast, only five others with longer titles, there are a few episodes listed as being from it. The one I tried played. and I was able to find the URL of the feed it had originally belonged to:
    http://www.rnib.org.uk/xpedio/groups/public/documents/code/public_podcastRSS.hcs p
However there is no file at that address so I can't go any further. The episode media files do still exist, or the Store wouldn't play them, but there's no way I can detect where they are. If you can find them and delete them then they may still appear in that list for a time but won't play, and possibly will remove themselves eventually.
Apparently the server the feed was on is no longer being used by you. Do you still have access to it? If you can upload any feed (it needn't have any episodes) to that URL and include in the top section this tag:
    <itunes:block>yes</itunes:block>
then it may remove the episodes. Otherwise there isn't really anything else you can do.

  • Can I remove some applications permanently from my PowerBook?

When I don't play or use some applications on my iPhone, I just uncheck the application on iPhone > Applications of iTune, and syncing to remove from iPhone. But is there a way to remove the applications permanently from my iPhone > Applications of iTune on my PowerBook?
    Thanks in advance for help.

Select the app, tap the delete key on your keyboard or use the iTunes Edit menu -> delete. Select the "keep files" button if you want to keep the app in your iTunes mobile applications folder, otherwise select "Move to Trash".

  • I can't remove an unchecked podcast from my iphone

    Hello all,
I have my iTunes set to only sync checked Podcasts, but for some reason, some of my Podcasts are not being removed from my iPhone, even though I uncheck them on iTunes.  Yes, I can swipe aqnd delete them manually on my iPhone, but before the software update, I was able to uncheck a Podcast, and it would automatically be removed from my iPhone, without me having to swipe it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

I think this problem occurs when you download podcasts onto your iPhone from the web, not via iTunes. I too had a bunch of podcasts that would stay on my iPhone after I'd listened to them. I tried upping the play count, deleting them in iTunes, even unsubscribing from the podcast, but they still stayed on the iPhone.
Anyway, eventually I tried swiping across them (like you do for email), and the Delete button appeared. So I deleted them manually directly on the iPhone, and finally got rid of them.
I guess this has arisen thanks to iCloud and you not needing to have a computer anymore to manage podcasts, etc. But still, you'd think the options you set in iTunes would be applied globally to all your podcasts, no matter how they got onto your iPhone.

  • How can I remove all video clips from my library?

I noticed my library is up to 23 gigs! Last I checked, it was around 9. The only thing I can think of is that my new canon camera takes great videos, and all summer I've been using it on vacations and things where I didn't have my video camera. So, I'd like a way to find them so I can drag them to a folder I make on my desktop. Then I can incorporate into iMovie if I want, or just burn a dvd or something.
I have TONS and TONS of photos, and it would take me quite some hours to manually scroll through looking for the movie icons in the browser.
Any ideas on how to view ONLY the movies for example?

    SynterX
When you import movies they automatically get a 'movie' keyword, so: New Smart Album : Keyword is movie
The Select them, export them using the File -> Export dialogue and when you're sure they exported safely, trash them from iPhoto.

  • How do I remove some songs (albums) from iTunes library and put them back later?

I have too many songs and albums for my iPhone to be convenient.  I can remove an album, but might want to put it back on later.  Should be easy but I am probably missing something.  I found the music>itunes>iTunes Media>   files that have all the albusms listed.  But clicking on a deleted one does not offer anything to put it back.  Must be missing something.
    Thanks for responses.

iOS: Syncing with iTunes - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1386 -  You can sync everything or selected playlists.  "WIth iTunes 10, when automatically syncing, you can also manually drag items to the iDevice. These will show up in Manually Added Songs at the bottom of the Music tab after Playlists, Artists Genre, Albums." - https://discussions.apple.com/message/18919754

  • How can I remove some themes from Keynote??

How can I remove some themes from Keynote??

What a co-incidence... I just deleted those same goodies. They were in /Library/Application Support/Keynote-folder on my machine. I just deleted the whole folder, cause there seemed to be nothing more but those downloaded files. And Keynote worked great afterwards. There seemed to be another folder for iWork09, which is not to be removed.

How can i remove my credit card from my apple id

    Here's some more detail:
You have to do this from ITunes on your computer.  You can't do it from itunes.com.
First start ITunes.  On the left side of the screen, go to Store and then ITunes Store.  From the Quicklinks on the right side of the screen, go to Account.  After you sign in, you will see your account and payment information.  Click on Edit next to Payment Type.  Click None, next to Visa MasterCard Amex Discover.  It will then remove your credit card from your ITunes Account.

How can I remove the Demo Viewer from my MacBook?

    Drag it to the Trash.
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
        1. AppZapper
        2. AppDelete
        3. Automaton
        4. Hazel
        5. AppCleaner
        6. CleanApp
        7. iTrash

  • How can I remove dropdown calendar menu from date/time field.

I set up a javascript calculation based on the input of a date field. As long as the user enters the date manually the script works fine. If user attempts to select date by drop down menu then script will not work. How can I remove the calendar feature from the Date field?

You may have to wire custom script to get you what you need. That would probably work on 'exit' event.
Just you give you better Idea here is some thing I have on a date field. If user types his own date instead of picking from calendar this code checks whether it is valid date or not and returns to the same field either they enter valid date or clear the field.
This is FormCalc script. You may get the idea how this works and make it work for you using the same logic either in FormCalc or JavaScript.

  • Can you remove some of the Default applications

I want to give an iPod Touch to my mother who is technically challenged and doesn't have WiFi.
I only want the iPod functionality, not the browsers, email, maps, or any other feature.
Is there a way to disable or remove default apps that you don't want?
ps: I do not want an iPod classic., it''s interface is harder to learn than the touch.

I too would like to remove some of the default apps. Personally, I find the YouTube, Stocks, and Maps, useless to me and its just a waste of icon space. And whats with the "The touch may not be for you". Seriously, if someone wants a touch but doesn't want some of the default apps, that doesn't mean the touch is not for someone. I think it would be a smart move for Apple to revise the iPod (and iPhone, if people can't remove default apps on there) so that we may remove the default apps that we don't use. It makes absolutely no sense to just "move" the app to the back if we don't even use the app. That's like saying "you may not have any use for this app, but its here because we want to force you to keep the junk we give you". And it sounds a lot like a Microsoft move for the all the Windows operating systems they have released (up to Vista, so far) forcing Internet Explorer on all its users and not allowing us to remove it because it was integrated into the Operating System. Supposedly, Microsoft is growing up and letting the user to actually disable (maybe even remove) Internet Explorer in the upcoming Windows 7. What about Mac OS X, does it force Safari on its users, like its forcing some of these unnecessary apps onto the iPod Touch? I wouldn't don't know, I don't earn quite enough money to buy myself an iMac or MacBook (and I've even heard from several people that its more expensive to get a gaming Mac than a gaming PC with similar hardware configuration). Only Apple product I own so far is an iPod Touch.
But I will give Anna credit. Anna at least answered the question.
The question was "Can you remove some of the default applications" and a response saying "What is your mother going to use it for? Maybe the Touch is not the right device for her." by "D'Fish'N'Seas" does not answer the question at all. The question has nothing to do with what the mother is going to use the iPod for, so don't post a response like that, its one of the reasons that causes short tempered people to flame other people.
Ok, so since Anna answered the question that Ron asked. I have a question related to this topic, and if Ron is still wanting to remove some default apps, I'm sure he would like an answer to the question too. So, here is my question: Has anyone developed an app that would allow us to remove the default apps, or a tool that will guide us in removing some default apps?
And preferably the app or tool be in the most legal possible way. Wouldn't want to ask for something that is illegal.

Thank you Giri, for quick reply.
I want to save the Azure Backup storage cost, now.
I don't want to pay the Azure Backup storage cost for no-restore-need files until the backup point gets aged.
and I don't want to remove / re-backup the restore need files by un-register/register operation.
