Can't remove the screen lock by PIN and can't use the screen to receive calls

Hello, I have a brand new SONY Xperia , Model Number D5803, Android version 5.0.2. , Baseband version 8974-AAAAANAZQ-00063-42, Kernel version 8974-perf-g3f600d1. , Build number 23.2.A.1.62.
I set a screen lock by PIN. However when I receive calls I can’t take them, because the screen in locked.
I tried to turn off the screen lock, but when I select the “ Screen lock” menu and after entering the correct PIN, the following items are not active “None”, “Slide” and “Pattern” . So I can't select “None”
The only active items are “PIN” and “Password” .
Please advice how to remove the screen lock by PIN. I hope this will help to be able to receive calls.

To enable None and Swipe options, you need to go to Settings -> Security -> Clear credentials. Then those options will become active again.
However, you should be able to take calls even when you have PIN security, can you describe what shows on the screen when you have an incoming call while screen is locked?

I'm sorry to hear your screen is cracked spence425. I know its difficult to use the phone while its damaged. I'm happy you are receiving a replacement device. Have you saved any of your pictures and other data to the cloud? Here is a link about the cloud http://vz.to/1mF0GIx . Unfortunately, you will be unable to remove any data from the phone if the screen is unresponsive but if you are looking to transfer data to your new phone, it would have needed to be saved via the cloud first. When closing Firefox (v:3.6.13), using the red "close" button, the firefox.exe process remaines at top of the "Windows Task Manager" window and continues to use the majority of CPU time.

After an attempt to close the Mozilla Firefox page, on every occasion, the firefox.exe process is found at the top of the list when ordering the listed 'processes' by CPU time... even though the web page is gone.
If an attempt is made to restart Mozilla, the system declares that the current Mozilla process should be closed.
If the firefox.exe process is explicitly closed in the Task Manager, only then can Firefox be restarted.

Does that also happen if you use File > Exit Firefox?

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
After the device has turned off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

The screen does work though! Through trial and error along side a little troubleshooting, I was able to figure out that the screen will cut on after the phone dies completely. The phone has to die completely with no battery power left. Then if I plug the phone into a charge and wait a while for it to charge, the phone will turn on like nothing was ever even wrong with it. I charge the phone up to like 30% and turn it off then bam the phone turns on but the screen is solid black again.
I am currently in the process of waiting for the phone to die and when I turn the phone back on I am going to completely remove the auto-lock and lock code off of the phone for the time being.
Any other suggestions? Please help!

Sounds like the device was dropped at some point and damaged as a result.
Take it to Apple for evaluation and a replacement.

You have quite muddied up the waters, I'm afraid. Assuming you now have a single GUID partition formatted Mac OS Extended, Journaled, you should try reinstalling Lion:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

I am using my Description as the caption on Slideshow. I ticked the "Show Title Slide" button and iPhoto physically copied the description on the first slide onto the end of every other description. I can find no way of removing them other than by hand.

DURIM - Okay. I would expect the "Cache Warning" message because your default directories would not be the same as the ones in the settings file I generated.
If you go back to the "7.0" directory and open the "Logs" folder, can you copy the "Audition Log.txt" file and send it as an attachment to [email protected]? We'll take a look in that logfile and see if it gives us more information about why this is failing now.
Also, do you have any other Adobe applications installed on this machine, such as Premiere Pro? If so, do they launch as expected or fail as well?
I do have the trial Pro version of Adobe reader, but I have not activated it, because I fear the same thing will happen did it. I cannot afford to activate the subscription for that product and take the chance of it not working either. I depend on those two programs religiously. Here is the files that you requested. I just updated my original iPad 32 GB WiFi to iOS 5.1 about fifteen minutes ago. But I did it with the system restore feature in iTunes. So it wiped out everything on my iPad. But it did work. Then I restored an earlier backup and all went fine. Maybe you could try backing up your iPad and then using Restore to get it back to factory settings to see what happens.

Here I describe two of them.
(1) the one which I use : install and use the "Convert to Lowercase" service available in the free WordService
(2) copy your text, paste in TextEdit and enter the Edit menu.

More than likely you can get the phone back by doing a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot.
