Can't render video as Quicktime.

Hi there,
I've been trying and this for quite a while now but nothing seems to work. I was planning on making a timelapse movie in photoshop. I imported all the jpeg files through file > open > image sequence. They import just fine and when I press "space" it also plays fine. But when I want to make a movie out of it and go to file > export > render video, I can't check the quicktime export! I can only choose Image Sequence.
How do I make the QuickTime Export selectable?
I'm using Photoshop CS4 Extended
Thanks in advance!

Yeah that helped, thanks for that! Only there seems to be another slight problem. When I use the type tool, photoshop crashes. I'm using the x64 file btw. I've tried resetting the prefrences file but that didn't seem to work sadly enough.
Is there a way to fix this?

    Thank you Benjt and Sue:
I have first chosen to followed Sue's suggestion concerning the firewire connections since that looked to be the one most easily done quickly. I therefore had to make more room on the hard drive in my MacBook Pro since the drive is only 100 GB. I normally use an external 400GB drive to hold my video files since one of the plays last May required about 200GB! However, the play this time was a short one and not really High Density anyway like the one was in May with a much finer camera. I have been connecting the external HD via Firewire800.
I simply moved a number of files from my MacBook Pro drive and put them in the external HD as well as another HD and then disconnected the external HD from my MacBook. I was, indeed, able to import the entire tape in one shot into iMovie. iMovie is still not working right since I found that I had to click "import" in iMovie to start collecting a clip and then hit "play" on my camcorder to actually import the tape contents into the clip. I found the whole play, just 50 min this time, in that clip when we returned home this evening.
I can now get the editing done one their last play for the kids and have DVDs for them when I go back up to Gainesville to record their current play on Thursday evening.
I will then devote some time to trying to solve the rest of the problem, looking into Benjt's suggestions.
Thanks very much for your very timely critical and positive help this afternoon. For your information, I also have been working on learning Final Cut Express but as I tried to put all of my reading into practice, I now I can't even get FCE to open - but that's another story and a very different problem.
    Thanks again.

  • PS CS4 render video to quicktime problem

I created a 50 frame animation that I cannot seem to export as a QT movie, or any other avi, mpg etc. It exports an image sequence just fine. I must be missing something?

Hi, I was just wondering if you ever figured out your problem with video rendering. I just started working on a video project with photoshop cs4. I tried to render video and came up with the same error: "could not complete the render video..."  I can render still images but it won't let me render a QT movie or anything else other than still images. Please let me know if you found a solution.
    thanks...

  • Can you lighten videos in Quicktime?

I have some videos that, on my camera look fine, but when uploaded to the computer, are very dark. Is there any way I can lighten them up using Quicktime Pro?

Yes. QuickTime export "Movie to QuickTime Movie" allows you to select "filters".
Set the playhead to a representative frame of your video. Export and click on the Video button to set the compression settings and the audio button for choosing audio codecs. Click on the Filters button in the export dialog and use the Brightness and Contrast or HSL Balance filter. Adjust the sliders and use the small preview image to get things the way you want.
Compressing (exporting) already compressed files will degrade the video quality a bit and your newer file may be a bit larger in file size. Try to match the codecs and rates found in the source at export.

  • Can I render Videos with my GPU? With AME or Adobe Premiere?

    Hey guys:
I record xbox gameplays and post them on youtube. although, my question is can i render my videos with my GPU instead of my CPU with AME or Adobe Premiere and if i can i would like to know please. i usually record 25-40 minute long videos and i like to to render them at maximun depth so they can look nice and crisp but each video is taking around 12 to 15 hours to render.

Try File > Export > Media straight from Premiere Pro instead of the queue in AME. You do not need to check Maximum Bit Depth when you're exporting directly from Premiere Pro which uses the GPU for certain processes, including scaling.

  • Can´t render&preview stabilized quicktime-video

    Hello all,
    I´ve encountered a very annoying problem while using After Effects warp stabilizer on a quicktime-video (4K, ProRes444, 24fps, 16-Bit).
After applying the effect, I can see the results in the preview. But when I am closing the AE-project and reopen it the ram-preview stays black even a rendering is impossible. The RAM fills with data, the CPU start working high but not a single frame will be rendered.
    I tried:
    on/off OpenGL
    various multiprocessor/RAM configurations
new project/new composition + new warp effects
    System: Mac OSX 10.6.8, AE 5.5, MacPro 2x 2,26 Quad, 24 GB, Render: 9CPU a 2 GB RAM.
I would be thankful for any help.
    Best,
    Marko

  • Can't see video in QuickTime 7 for Windows XP SP2

I used iTunes and QuickTime 6, then upgraded to iTunes & QuickTime 7, after that I cannot see most movies (.mov files) saved on my desktop, there is a sound but instead of picture I see horizontal colorful lines.
Tried to downgrade to iTunes & Quicktime 6, videos are played normally with both audio and video, but I have to use 7 version of software, because of the last iPod player. Again upgraded to QuickTime 7, video again lost at .mov files!
What's the matter? Shouldn't new software replay files, which old soft did?

Open the QuickTime Control Panel / Advanced tab
Under Video use "safe mode". Quit and relaunch QuickTime and any open browser and try again.

  • Can't save videos with Quicktime Pro

Hi, I was trying to watch the new iPhone 3.0 OS presentation, but it couldn't stream properly. So I wanted to download it so I could watch it later without buffering etc. But when I save it 'as a qt movie' or 'a qt source' it saves as a maximally 3kb .mov file. And when I play it, it streams again. So I don't understand how it isn't downloaded fully.
    Can anyone help?
    Thank you very much!

True "streaming media" files in QuickTime format can't be saved to a local machine. All you can save is a "link" (your 3KB file) to the source.
Many of those Apple presentation files (Keynotes, for an example) are available for download at the iTunes Store.

  • Can't Render Video Hangs on the Initializing Video Export Progress bar

When rendering a video I never get past the Initializing Video Export Progress bar.
Running windows 8 64bit, Photoshop CC.

I am trying to process a move clip of various types. I don’t even get to the dialogue that presents the parameter entry. I’ve tried .mp4,mts,3gp,f4v & m2t. I don't even have any changes applied to the clip.

  • Export / Render Video Broken?

    MacPro1,1 (32bit kernel, 64bit OS X 10.7.5)
    x5355 8-core 2.67GHz CPU,

4-Drive RAID0 System and data drive (four new 3TB Seagate Barracuda [fast] drives)
GTX 570, 1.3GB - Recognized by PhotoShop for OpenCL and OpenGL
PhotoShop CC (v 14.1.2 x64) Trail (about 5 days into it)
    1) I can open a video and play it back at the speed of the video.
    2) I can not get playback faster than 1 fps if there are any filters applied - the pre-render / buffering isn't working at all.
    3) I can not "Render Video" by choosing either "Render Video from the menus or the Export Arrow button in the GUI.
As soon as I select either I get a Progress Bar that that says "Initializing Video Export" but never finishes. I have waited as long as 4hrs and still no dice.
I've tried with more than a few different videos and the result is always he same.  Here are three of the videos I have tried with:

Tesselator Tess: I'm not asking for support for the trial version at this point. I am asking for a department name.

    Tesselator Tess:
Dilip: I am sorry for the inconvenience.
    Tesselator Tess: Me too.
Dilip: Do you have any other questions for me?
Tesselator Tess: No, just those two.
Dilip: Thank you for contacting Adobe. Good Bye.

Is the trial version of Photoshop CC a function-limited (cripled) eddition or is it the full-featured version same as the purchased product? I had always thought they were the full versions but I thought I might check to make sure.

I can't import my HD videos (MP4) from my Samsung OIS Duo into FCP.
However, I can see the video with QuickTime.
In FCP, I just see a red box with a yellow triangle at the center(warning). Can someone help me. The video are Full HD 1080/60i.
I also try converting from MP4 to DV. Cannot import the .DV either.
    Can someone help me?

Could it be the case that you have "proxy media" selected in the preferences (under Final Cut Pro -> Preferences, click on "Playback" and see which is selected, proxy or optimized), BUT you are not creating proxy media when importing?
If that is the case, either
      - switch to "original/optimized media",
    or
      - create the proxy media (control-click the clip(s) in the event browser, choose "Transcode media" e check the box for "create proxy media").

  • Open a loop of videos on QuickTime?

    Hi,
When I select multiple videos and open them at the same time in QuickTime I get a frame for every video, can I open multiple videos that comes up in one single frame and starts automatically playing one after another?

    Hello,
No. Unfortunately you can not queue videos in QuickTime. Try another videos player. I suggest VLC, it can handle playlists. Download it from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html

  • Render Video - Quicktime Disabled

I'm in the render video dialog and quicktime option is disabled.
It wasn't a little while ago when I was playing.
I can not find in the help topics why.
Might somebody be able to help me un-disable it?
    Thanks

The render video option is greyed out when your file is flattened. It requires more than 1 layer for it to be active.

  • How can I convert video in a WMA format to play in QuickTime Pro?

I have installed my QuickTime Pro, but cannot play any of my videos that I already have stored on my computer. They are all in the WMA format. Is there anyway I can convert these files to play in Quicktime Pro? I also cannot figure out how to download a video from my digital video camera into QuickTime Pro. Can you help me with this? Additionally, I cannot figure out how to download from my digital camera into QuickTime Pro. All of these functions I would like to do, are so I can take these videos & pictures and download them to my IPOD. HELP - thanks Mike Mirsch

    Hi again Mirsch,
I have Mac OS X and I have Quicktime 7.1 Pro.
I know that you can record a movie by making a new movie recording. Use the fire-wire connection to do this and have you camera in playback or deck mode. This is probably not the best way to import video to your pc. I say this because it might not be a lossless ingest of video (depending on your quicktime preferences>recording settings.
Try saving your dv video onto your pc using a program like premier (i use iMovie and Final Cut Express).
    Good luck,
    José Cuervo
