Can't reset password

Hi, I’ve change my device to 9320 but now my password is unrecognized then I go to ‘forget password’, fill new security answer, new password & confirmation but it keep say Bad Request.
Thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please clarify...is this your device lock password? Your BB ID password? An AppWorld password? Your BIS password? Your email account password? Something else?
Also, please provide the exact and complete error message -- I've never seen "Bad Request", so I suspect that there is more to the error message than that.
Thanks and let us know!

If the iCloud account you are trying to delete is old ID that was later updated to change it to your current ID, you can go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now, if desired, you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Which keyboard layout you were using? German, French ... I suppose your layout is reset to the default: US and you are unable to find the "?" or "/" ...
Please have a look into the keyboard viewer, to see how the layout of your keyboard is actually.

I have a 2012 mac book pro can I use that to connect with firewire and load osx that way? and how woudl I do that?
    Thanks so much!

To what password are you referring? Do you mean your user account's admin password? Or do you mean the master password for File Vault or do you mean a Firmware Password?
    For an admin password:
    Forgot Your Account Password
    For Snow Leopard and earlier
Mac OS X 10.6- If you forget your administrator password
    For Lion/Mountain Lion
        Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
When the menubar appears select Terminal from the Utilities menu.
Enter resetpassword at the prompt and press RETURN. Follow
instructions in the dialog window that will appear.
Or see Reset a Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Password and
OS X Lion- Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
If you cannot do the above then try this:
      1. Boot to Safe Mode by restarting and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-S keys until a black screen with white type appears.
      2. At the prompt, type the following commands pressing return after each command line:
         /sbin/fsck -yf
If you do not receive a "Filesystem OK" message then repeat this command until
you do.  If after seven tries you still do not receive a "Filesystem OK" message,
then the system is corrupted and needs to be reinstalled.
         mount -uw /
         cd /private/var/db/netinfo
         mv local.nidb local.old
         rm ../.AppleSetupDone
         shutdown -r now
The second-to-last command above will cause OS X to think that the operating system is newly installed, and when the new owner starts up the computer it will send him/her to the startup wizard where he/she can start a new user without reinstalling.
This last method does not actually change a password. It simply removes the user accounts and lets you create an initial admin account as if the computer were new out of the box.
How to reset the OS X password without a startup CD:
Reboot into Single-user Mode. Enter the following and press RETURN after each command line
       1. Type fsck -fy
       2. Type mount -uw /
       3. Type passwd <username>
I have never tried this method myself.

You need to contact Apple, either through the link in that article or by phoning them and asking for the Account Security team.

then I tried to find out what my apple ID is by this page (link)
and it failed too!!!! it said "No Apple ID found"
and I think if the page told me this ID doesn't exist, then I can recreate this account using the same email, so I tried...

  • Can not reset password in Oracle 10g Express

I have searched google for 4 hours, now I am certain:
"May be I am the only one in the world who have this problem."
I installed Oracle 10g Express on my Debian5.
I need to reset password for SYS/SYSTEM users
So I checked online tutorial says I need to use a utility called "orapwd" to recreate a password file.
    Everything is smooth since now.
When I finally find this "orapwd" utility. I type "orapwd" as a root user. Terminal replies "orapwd command not found".
I then discovered the orapwd is some kind of x-execute file. After an extensive search on google I concluded that this kind of file is inexecutable.
Many tutorials I read online specify that the "orapwd" is actually "orapwd.exe", but on my Debian system it is "orapwd" with no extension.
    Any suggestion is welcome.
ps: is there anyway I can reset password without going through "orapwd" s*t.
Best regards to all who have read to the end of this post

And Billy, what makes you think Windows Administrators do not know administration on command line?Experience dealing with Windows SAs over a decade and a half.
I got my first part time job as a Windows Administrator in the beginning era of Windows 95 in a small netcafe. The boss does not pay me but like me use workstations there for free.
In the early days, I administrate both Dos and Win3.1. I do my work on command line primarily and wrote a hell lot of *.bat files. In those days it were quite different. Because administration and configuration came from a command line DOS environment. We for example never configured networking for a Windows 3.1 or WFW 3.11 client via a GUI. It was done by directly editing system.ini and protocol.ini and making the correct changes.
And this made the guys and me almost fail our Windows CE certification because the silly multiple question exam asked which buttons to click in the GUI to configure networking and not how it works at actual system configuration level. In other words, it tested your knowledge of the GUI functions and not the actual system config and admin itself.
And then Windows NT was released and command line admin became the exception and not the rule. The All-Config-Eggs-in-a-Single-basket called the Windows Registry exemplified this flawed approach.
But since Window95 I find myself spending less and less time on command line, more and more on GUI and my work efficiency increase tremedously. I can record the mouse clicks, the key presses, then covert then into a script. I can change every setting of the system in just few clicks. In the world of Linux, this is still a dream, isn't it?You are missing the point. There are a large number of admin GUI tools available for Linux. But these seldom serve as crutches to configure the system, because of a i-am-clueless-factor.
If two systems, both are equally capable. To acheive the same thing, system A takes 2 working hours, system B takes 8 working hours. Doesn't this makes system B inferior compare to A?Because of the lack of knowledge and skill of a person to do the required on system B in 10 minutes now takes 8 hours instead? Ignorance of an operating system does not qualify as making system B inferior to system A.
In past decade, Linux became very popular in the server market is not becasue there are an increasing number of Linux system administrators who are good at command line administration but because Linux is becoming more user friendly. And as a result. This increased administrator's work efficiency and the same time reduce training cost which invites more people to learn Linux.Incorrect. There is a reason that 483 of the 500 of the fastest and most powerful computer systems on this planet runs Linux. And only 5 runs Windows.
And this has nothing to do with imagined user friendliness. It has everything to do with technical superiority and total cost of ownership.
So the more idiot proof the system is, the better the system will become.No. The less idiots there are, the better the quality of system administration, the better security, the more robust the systems are.

    hai, all
i have problem when i want to reset password using esso
    that's problem :
you are not allowed to change your password
    thank's

    Hi,
There is a setting in Active Directory that controls the minimum age of the password before a user is allowed to change it again. By default its value is 1, which means that you can change your password once a day.

  • CDN v3.0.2 - Can not reset password

We have a CE-560 with CDN V3-0-2-rc10. For some reason it will not reset password. Tried the defaults:
    admin:default

    etc..
When booting, typed in "linux single" at the "LILO Boot#", unit proceeds to load to "Bash#". So then we typed "bash# source /sonoma/sys/bin/resetpass". After hitting enter, unit continues to load. We get to a prompt where we typed admin:default
    This is what we get:

Any ideas on what we can do, or what we are doing wrong?

Ordinarily, CDN administrators change the default administrator account password (admin) in the same manner as any other account password. Refer to Chapter 2, "Configuring Enterprise Content Delivery Network Devices," in the Cisco Enterprise CDN Software User Guide for details on changing passwords for accounts.
However, if you lose track of the password for the admin account and accidentally lock yourself out of the Content Distribution Manager administrative user interface, you must manually reset the password for the admin account before regaining access to the Content Distribution Manager and the Users feature.
Resetting the admin account password restores the factory-configured password to the account. After resetting this password and rebooting the Content Distribution Manager, administrators can again log on using the admin account and configure the password for the account, as well as for other user and administrative accounts.

  • Can't reset password for admin, can't access admin and my home folder is missing?

I am having huge issues! This morning everything was fine, then I took my computer to school and it had reset to default condition and says my home folder is inaccessible.
I've tried multiple ways of resetting password in terminal, to no avail
Gained access to the computer via standard user - but still no way of clicking or doing anything to my admin account.
    I'm running osx 10.7.5
    Please help :-(

When you say you have tried multiple ways to reset the admin password, have you tried restarting while holding the Command and R keys, then when it has booted to the recovery HD partition, you should get a drop down of utility acctions, one of which is to open Terminal.  Open Terminal, and after the cursor type:
    resetpassword
    and press Return.
You then should get a window to select the user, admin in this case, and you then enter the new password twice, do not enter a hint, click Reset and get a window that says Login Password Reset - click OK

  • How can I reset password in email application

I'm helping an elderly neighbour (I'm elderly myself) with an email problem on his Mac (I don't know which one, but this is a pure S/W problem).
When he starts his system, he eventually gets a prompt for his SMPT password. Nothing works. He can signon to the BT Yahoo! webmail, using the email address/password, so we know his password is correct. We changed the password, and the webmail still worked (with the new password), but the built-in email client (eagle on stamp icon) still rejects his password, even when it prompts him to enter it.
I tried his POP/SMTP credentials in the Outlook on my Window7 system, and I can both send/receive mail. So there seems to be nothing wrong at the SMTP server.
How would I go about resetting his POP/SMTP details in the "eagle" application?
Somewhere along the line, he started seeing a "KeyChain" application appearing. This also asked him for a password, but he has no idea what to enter. He's tried every conceivable password (and I tried a null password, in case none had ever been set). I've seen the application work just once (perhaps my blank password worked?) but I've not found my way back into it.

I couldn't find any Email settings in System Preferences, but I was somewhat leery about deleting the account anyway, as I don't know if the newly created account could be associated with the old Inbox. So I archived the inbox. Then I decided to look at the existing Email account settings before deleting the account.
I found there was no outbound SMTP server defined (which may not have mattered, since it is the same as the inbound POP server, but I added the explicit IP name anyway. Nor was a password defined for the outbound server, so I added it.
At this point, all the pending outbound email got sent, and everything else had gone back to normal.
This seems an unsatisfactory outcome, as I'm sure that Fred would never have found his way into the email settings. Not in a million years. But I won't look this gift horse in the mouth.

  • How can I reset password in iDS5.1?

    A newbie question:
There is a thread as below, can some one tell me if there is a passwordMustChange value in iDS5.1? Cause I change the password in console as a diretory manager and checked on 'User must change password after reset', but there is no password expired control when the user binding after the reset. Wondering how to reset the password in console properly.
    Thanks,
    Ben
Craig Epstein on 2/21/2002 answered:"James,In order to view the values for the following attributes: passwordExpirationTime passwordExpWarned, passwordRetryCount, retryCountResetTime, accountUnlockTime, passwordHistory, passwordAllowChangeTimethey must be specifically requested in an ldap search operation. For example, if the password policy is configured so that a user must wait 3 days before changing his password, an ldap search on the user's entry where passwordAllowChangeTime is specifically requested will return the absolute time when the password can be changed.General password policy for attributes such as passwordMustChange, is stored under the cn=config entry. So, if the LDAP database is configured so that users must change their passwords after a reset, the passwordMustChange attribute in this entry should be set to on.If you can be more specific, perhaps I can help further.Regards,Craig"

THe Password policy is working the same in 5.1 as in the previous release (minus bugs).
Password Reset only works when done by "Cn=directory manager".
