Can't reset project start point

I decided to add a four bar introduction to a song in logic, and dragged the 'project start' point back to -3 bars. Then I realised when I bounced, it began from 0, so I just selected all and moved everything forward four bars.
Now, I know I could have used cycle to set my own start and end points for the bounce, but now that I have everything starting at 0, why can I not bring back the project start point to 0? It stays at -3, and I hate having to wait 4 bars for my song to start after I hit O to play the song from the top.
Can anyone help? Many, many thanks if possible. I'm extremely frustrated!

Because there maybe is Automation happening before the 1 1 1 1 point. So open any Automation event list with a Keycommand - hit command+1 - a new Arrange page opens displaying the Automation regions - cut those regions at 1 1 1 1 with the scissor tool or by selecting them all and using the Keycommand for "cut at playhead position" and then delete everything before 1 1 1 1.

Anyway, try this:
For the sake of this demonstration start a new project.
Click the mouse pointer on the playhead in the ruler,
now the project start indicator should appear, hover the mouse pointer above it until this indicator appears,
when you see it left click, hold and scroll to the left.

HT201269 Best Buy started the setup assistant on my new iPhone 5 and now I can't make it sync with iTunes. How can I reset and start over?

I bought an iPhone 5 at Best Buy, and they started the setup assistant process. Now I can't go back and start over so I can sync my phone to my iTunes account. I have an old iPhone 3GS and didn't use the iCloud. I backed up to my computer. And now I can't reset my iPhone 5 to sync to my iTunes.
Help.

I purchased a iPhone 5, and after completing a backup of my old iPhone 3GS, I in error selected Set Up as a New iPhone in the Setup Assistant.
I connected to iTunes and did a Restore iPhone, which set the iPhone5 back to factory defaults, and I was able to restart the Setup Assistant, and following the apple support instructions, restored from my 3GS backup and synced with my iTunes account. The Restore kept my phone number intact.
I was worried that I would lose the setup of my phone number that was done in the store, but everything worked perfectly.

How can I reset the anchor point to its default?

One of the other guy using my machine screwed up the default anchor point position for text layers & for the life of us, we can't figure out how to reset it back to its default (centered on the text layer).
Right now, it appears a the bottom of the text layer (bottom left if left justified, bottom right if the text is right justified & bottom center if cerer justified).
Just to be clear, when typing out a brand new text layer, the anchor point does not appear in the center of the layer, as it normally does. Hitting "reset" in the tranform controls always moves the AP back to this position (ie, if I use the pan-behind tool to put the AP where it needs to be, then hit "reset", the AP moves back to the lower left corner of the layer)
I'm sure it's got to be some keystroke combination of some kind...
Anyway, does anyone know how to set it back to its default? It's a pretty big pain to have to manually set the anchor point for every text layer, and I kinda want to leave the "delete-your-prefs" option as a last resort...

As Rick said - there is no way in hell the text ever could have been perfectly centered to begin with. the behavior you are seeing is perfectly normal. Whenever you change the text, the anchor point will respond in kind. Only fixed size text blocks will reverse that principle and fit the content to the bounding box, leaving the anchor point unchanged.

Logic 8 and syncing QT Movies to TC values before project start.

Apologies for this real dumb wit question and I have searched an answer to this both in the Logic manual and on previous threads to this forum .... but to no avail!
After years of working on PAL DV QT movies that I sync externally by firing TC to another Mac (& out through a Canopus box to a plasma screen) ...... I want to do some prep for a project using some rough iPod movies (which have visual TC) inside Logic on my main computer.
Everything works fine except when it comes to a simple requirement.
I have a demo that starts at say bar 3 ........... I want to sync that to say 16 minutes into QT REEL 3(most 35 mm cinema movies are still broken down to maybe 10 reels with each one starting chronologically in the format REEL 1 - 1st frame picture is 01.00.00.00 ...... REEL 2 - 1st frame picture is 02.00.00.00 etc etc) ...... the most labs can still process is 22 minute reels ...... sorry beside the point but an interesting fact!
Is it possible to import a movie with a scene that I want to score say 16 minutes into the QT, with a cue that starts at Bar 3 ......... or as I seem to find, is there no way of syncing a scene within a QT movie that starts "BEFORE" the Logic Project start point?
No matter how I alter the VIDEO MOVIE START point, the project always wants to import the movie to the start of the "project".
Please put me out of my misery!?

Search my posts on this forum, the question of whether Logic 9/SL is stable has been asked before and I've answered it in detail already, so you can read what my personal experience has been.
Re the piano roll crashes, I can categorically confirm that in Logic 8 (I used it under Tiger, not Leopard or Snow Leopard) the piano roll transposition crash was a repeatable, regular and reliable crash for me. I have not had a single crash of this kind since moving to Logic 9/SL. Usually I'd say your mileage may vary, but for this specific bug it seems to me that it was a very specific Logic 8 problem which has been comprehensively taken care of in 9.

Actvities before the Project Start Date

Every now & then, we will get an activity which is a precursor to a project kicking off as a project start date so in theory from that start date would be known as either week 1 or Month 1.
So in this case, any actvivity starting a month for example before the kick off date should be shown in "- Month 1" but in Project 2013, it takes this new date as Month 1 even when the Project Start Date has not changed.
The earlier versions of Project, you could manipulate this so what's changed?...Is there a way around this?
I am not using Project server as will never use it to save myself from grief & stress!...prefer to keep it simple!

I couldn't test it with 2013 but with 2010 the week numbering starts at the project start date, so you can have a project start date on a certain date which will be your week1, and then set predecessors with no impact on the numbering.
If you confirm that this behavior jas changed with 2013 version, an option could be to enter as manually scheduled tasks with no dates the tasks prior to the project start date, using custom fields to enter the actual dates.

Can't fine tune scene icon starting point

Hello.
I have an iMovie HD project that I am finalizing in iDVD 6. It is 90 minutes long and divided into ten chapters. iDVD 6 automatically created motion icons for each of the ten chapters. For ease of editing, I have turned Motion off for now.
I can click once on each icon, and a slider appears above it that allows me to set the starting point for that icon's movie. The problem is that I can't finely select the starting point I want. Even if I move my mouse the shortest distance possible, the video jumps by about one minute increments. Same thing when I use the right or left arrows on the keyboard. I've tried variations with the shift, control, option and command keys, but nothing worked, and iDVD Help has no solution that I can find.
Is there any way that I can get the movie sliders to move in much smaller increments, preferably frame by frame? Thanks!

I never found out anything on this, so I just finished the project as best I could. Now I have Final Cut, and doubt I'll use iDVD again. Good luck!

Numbering: Import v Image v Sequence - How do these work? Can they be set to arbitrary start points?

I have been searching where ever I can but I can't seem to find a good explanation of the difference between "Import Number," "Image Number" and "Sequence Number."
In LR4 I was able to specify a start number for sequencing the image reference numbers.
I would like to be able to specify that start number and have LR remember where it left off for the next time I import so I have continuously increasing numbers across imports until the next time I need to reset.

OK. A simple experiment reveals:
Import# - Ever increasing number for each import. If this is used without another dynamic numbering (ie image#) it will append -# to the end of the filename. (ex. PHOTO001, PHOTO001-2, PHOTO001-3 etc.)
Image# - Ever increasing number for each image across imports (Half of what I was looking for)
Sequence# - Increasing number for each import. Resets to 0 each time.
The question still remains though.
Can the start points be manually set?

Project Start and End Features - Can Captivate Phone Home and Expire ?

I am looking at selling a course which the client will host for a limited time
We want the course to expire and we would like to receive anonymous user data back with their permission.
Send data back to use : Phoning home
I was looking at the Project->start and end-> Project end options-> execute javascript
With our clients permission could we use this to open a URL and phone home or would we crash into a firewall and burst into flames ?
Why ?

Is this relatively secure and stable ?
Our other alternative was to throw a widget in which said this course has expired
Or could I have the course check a website to confirm the course is licensed ?

How can I reset the xy zero point to a different spot in my PDF? Possibly via a plug-in?

I would like to reset my zero point to aid in measuring and aligning elements in PDFs. Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop will let you do this but not Acrobat Pro. Any ideas? I also use Pitstop Pro but can't seem to find anything in there that can help other than the measure tool.

You can't. The coordinate system defining the position of page elements is a fundamental property of the ISO PDF standard.

How can I reset/refresh Mail and start from scratch in Lion?

Just completed the upgrade to Lion last night. On Snow Leopard I had been using Thunderbird as my mail client, but I'm interested in seeing what the upgrades in Mail look like and will do. Before Thunderbird I did use Mail, so opening the app brought up all my old settings, smart boxes, etc. I want to start from scratch as though I had never used Mail before - how can I reset it to "zero"? Can I, or do I need to just manually delete the accounts, folders, boxes, etc. and then re-add them?

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
