Can't restore a partially downloaded podcast item

I lost connection to a program in a podcast and it only partially downloaded. I deleted the item, and now I can't seem to restore the download. It is a recent episode -- any way to make iTunes "forget" that I already downloaded and deleted it? If not, what is the proper way to restore a failed podcast download??

dmaestro,
Welcome to Discussions,
What worked for me is the next:
Select the Podcast and click the 'Unsubscribe' button.
The button will change it's text to 'Subscribe'.
Click on it again.
Open the Podcast directory (click on the small triangle in front of the name).
The missing episode should have appeared now.
Click on the 'Get' button to download it.
Hope this helps.

How do you delete a partial downloaded podcast from iphone

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • Partially downloaded podcasts

I've been getting a lot of partially downloaded podcasts in iTunes. They podcasts are supposed to be 55 minutes long, but often only 20 seconds or 20 minutes or so of the podcast gets downloaded. I do not see any obvious way to "re-download" the podcasts inside iTunes. The specific podcast this is happening with is "Catholic Answers - LIVE". Does anyone have any idea how I could resolve this problem? (Or at least come up with a workaround).
    Thanks!
    -Paul

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. I should clarify it too. Catholic Answers publishes two podcast episodes per day, and 9 times out of 10, my Mac downloads them without any issues. But once in a while it fails to download the complete episode. I'm pretty sure my internet connection is reliable because I use it for tons of other things and have no problems with it. It seems like a software issue (iTunes simply times out and doesn't have the robustness to reliably download). All of this started happening after I upgraded to iTunes 7.

  • Can't update apps or download podcasts on iPhone 5s running iOS 8.1

I can't download podcasts or update apps on my iPhone 5s.  I had the problem on iOS 8.0.2 and the problem of updating apps went away for a few days when I updated to iOS 8.1.  But now my apps won't update anymore.  My podcasts stopped downloading at the same time as my apps stopped updating, but downloading never restarted.  I am able to stream my podcasts though.
My iPhone 5s has 64GB and I have 42.8GB available, so storage capacity isn't the issue.  I've had the phone for 10 months.  The phone had 1 second of water damage about 2 months ago.  This issue didn't start until about three weeks ago, so I don't know if they are related.  I've tried soft and hard resets, nothing has worked so far.
    I appreciate any suggestions.

I have the same problem with my iPhone 6 16GB. If you restore it, the problem will be solved but it will return after some hours or so. It's not hardware, but I don't know how to fix it permanently.

  • How to Reload a Partially Downloaded Podcasts??

Occasionally an podcast in one of my iTunes podcast subscriptions is only partially downloaded due to a connection or network problem.
Is there a way to instruct iTunes to reload it so the full podcast can be obtained? I have not found one. Thanks

I use a similar jury rigged solution. I simply delete the podcast subscription with the partial download and resubscribe through the iTunes store or the producers website.
I wish Apple would include a reload capability in the right-click menu that deleted the partial podcast and its record in the corresponding subscription counter. I'm sure it will come in time.

I was not aware that such a limitation existed.  Try this:  (disable Time machine temporarily
Click on the Time Macine HDD, and open ''Backups. backupdb' folder.  You then might see another folder with you name on it.  Open that folder which should show you a series of folders with a series of dates.  See EX.
Select the folder with the date where the data that you want to retrieve resides.  Open that folder and keep opening folders until you get to the item you wish to restore.  Drag the item to your desk top.
    Ciao.

  • How can I restore the previous download toolkit UI in FF26?

Updated to FF26 earlier today. I just now noticed that the download manager is different, rather, it is the new version that has been available for a while. I have been using the older toolkit that was available in earlier versions through about:config and enabling the toolkit option. That option is still checked as true but the toolkit remains the same (the newer version).
How can I revert to the older download toolkit without restoring to an earlier version?

Why is any of the crap in the new download window needed? It's fluff; useless junk made to look pretty for the everyday idjit.
Seriously... why would I need to see bookmarks in the download window? I will never open the download window to use bookmarks. I can go straight to the bookmark tab in the browser. Same with all the other 'new and improved' crap that has been forced upon us with this busted new download window; superfluous junk.
Why on Earth would I need or want to open this new 'Library' window to check any of that shit? It's all right there more easily accessible in the main browser. I personally don't use history or tags to begin with, but I guess some people might. Why would they take an extra step to do it though?
Something else I don't do... keep the download window open to watch the downloads! Is there really some expectation that people are going to use these things simultaneously (download monitoring + redundant 'additions')? I can't understand the thought process here.
There's just no benefit whatsoever to this Library garbage. No one is really going to be checking out their downloads while they browse or organize bookmarks to the point that this change is even remotely useful. That's about the only thing I can think of that this ridiculousness could **possibly** bring to the table; being able to 'actively' monitor downloads while doing one of the other few things you can now do with that window open.
Get real, though. No one is using that window for anything but accessing the stuff they downloaded once it's done or to check the progress.
You want to do something useful? Scrap this stupid Library concept and get back to the old download window. Or keep it as a totally separate function (would almost be awesome to see the data on how often it's used and what people think of it when they have options) and make a download window like the old one that works with the current setup.

  • HT203167 one of my tracks i.e. Sultans of swing ( Dire Straits) should last for 10.54 minutes but now only plays for ten second then carries on to the next track, how can I restore the original download ?

One of my tracks i.e. Sultans of Swing (Dire Straits) should last for 10.54 minutes but cuts off after 11 seconds, then plays the next track.
How can I re-download the track again to restore it?

Delete problem track from library (if it is an iTunes Store purchase and you entitled to redownload past purchases - stop otherwise!)
    Close iTunes
    Open iTunes
Select iTunes Store in left-hand column
    Select Purchased in right-hand column
Select Music and Not on this computer
The track should be listed now with a small cloud symbol which lets you download it.
If you start downloading the track in step 7 then... While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked. (Should should help improve the reliablility of future downloads made with this build of iTunes.)
If the above hasn't helped then... contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

  • Can I find where someone downloaded stolen items from my iCloud?

It appears that I must have been careless with my Apple ID and password because someone used them to purchase an iTunes item that was downloaded and then tucked into my iCloud. Is there a way to track where it was downloaded?

No.  Anyone with your AppleID and password can use your account.  The purchases will show in your account history in iTunes, but there is no way to know who made them or what device made them.  All you know is they were made with your account and nothing more.
You should change your AppleID password pronto, and keep it strictly private.

  • How can I restore corrupted purchase download for my second Apple ID without 90-day ban

    Hello!
The common thing leading to problems with Apple ID — I changed the country.
I have a lot of software / music that I bought in AppStore/iTunes for my previous country, however recently my previous credit card was, say, gone, and I don't want to revive it for the moment. I've paid a dept (it was hard to find a way to pay a dept in a country where there's no gift cards, but it is another story) and decided to change the card to None not to mess with new debts (and it works).
I've searched through a lot of forums here and I found that it is pain to change country for an existing Apple ID (it leads to problems updating software not accessible in other country AppStore), so I've created another, new Apple ID and attached it to a new credit card.
Few days ago I've purchased several music albums with the new Apple ID and it started downloading it to my iPad, but the connection in the end was bad (I've started downloading with Wi-Fi and some time later forgot this fact and moved out of the hotspot, while songs continued to be downloaded), and iTunes downloaded just several songs from some albums and haven't downloaded several complete albums, while removing them from download list (and I am sure that I haven't cancelled them manually!). Now I have just parts of the albums, but when I try to re-downoad them from iTunes, it says that my Apple ID will be blocked to be used on this device for 90 days if I will do it — Agree / Cancel. So I cancel all the time.
I don't want to make this new Apple ID primary on any device since I use truly a lot of software and listen a lot of music I bought for an old account and I have no such in new one. However, I can say, "let's this iPad be the source for the new music I've bought and I will listen the old music on some other Apple device I have" (but what if I'd have none?), but there seems to be no way to do it, since I will also lose all previous software on this iPad if I will make this ID primary.
Auto-downloading is totally off for both accounts, however, as I understand, it is an issue with iTunes in the Cloud.
Is there a way to resolve it or it is just another post of pain? I actually bought music for both accounts, it seems to be something illegal with the fact I can not download it without limitations.

Not so. All my computers are bound (authorized) to the old Apple ID and I don't want to change it because, as I get it, then I will lose all the software I need (I mean, updates/re-downloads and that stuff) for 90 days (among with music I previously bought, but it is secondary). Also I can not authorize any other computer for my id (unless their owners are not my enemies ) because they will be in the very same situation.
Re-downloading music/purchases second time (and iTunes treats that failed one as the first one, like "you got these files", while actually I'm not, for all devices where I login with new Apple ID) requires authorizing computer or device to the new Apple ID which sequentially bans all re-downloading for 90 days.
I know everyone is tired here of posts like this one, I see there are a lot of similar discussions, and I also think that it is required to do something to solve al least most of problems of guys who change countries and this strange re-download restriction (I understand it's about security and downloads fee). So it is discussed a lot here and may be something changes, and anyway if not, my post will do not add something new to it. I have a single problem I hope will be resolved, because I bought this stuff and I can not use this stuff (even if I'd be stupid enough to cancel this downloads by myself — I own this stuff, files are still fragile things, even when they are spread to the clouds), digital purchases in iTunes are still not like non-digital where I have guarantees.

  • Is it possible to view a partially downloaded podcast? (or other file)

I'm on satellite and have daily download limit, but wanted to watch the part of the podcast I was able to download. I have a 250MB mp4 file which opens in quicktime with an error message. Is there a workaround that will let me watch the downloaded portion?

Press F11 or select "Full screen" from the menu. (If there are still toolbars floating around after that, right-click on the toolbar and remove the corresponding checkbox.)

  • Where are the partial downloads stored?

    Hi,
I was downloading Xcode for Lion from MAS. The download was almost 90% complete and then my Mac shut down because the battery ran out
(strangely, it didn't go to safe sleep/hibernate ). Can I restore the partially downloaded file from a Time Machine backup? If not, then I will have to start over again.
    – h.v.d.

I am lost.  I don't even see the reply tab to answer I hope this continues the conversation..  I frequently listen to radio talk shows that have already been broadcast.  I have the option of listen or
download.  The first option doesn't work so I always click on download.  I assume the downloads are piling up so I wanted to delete them but I can't find them stored anywhere on my iPad. Where are they?

  • Podcasts only partially downloaded

    Hello,
Lately, iTunes has been labeling partially downloaded podcasts as complete and refuses to resume downloading. The particulars of the problem are as follows. I have a very slow internet connection at my home. iTunes will often start downloading podcasts while I'm at home. When I take my computer to work, the downloads are stopped and the episodes are marked as new and complete in the list of podcasts. If I try to "Update podcast", nothing is downloaded. This is annoying, since I have about the first three minutes of all of my favorite podcasts, most of which are an hour or so in length. I have tried pausing downloads before disconnecting my computer from the internet at my house, but they are not in the list of downloads anymore when I check later at work. Any suggestions on how to get iTunes to download the rest of these podcast episodes?
    Thanks,
    Adrian

This question isn't actually answered, but these forums will keep telling me about it until I lie and say that it's answered.
