Can't restore iPad2
After click restore button the restore started but it only go up to 75% then it got drop. This is for iPad2. Please advise. Thanks.
If being done with a Windoze PC, before beginning the process try temporarily disabling the antivirus, anti-adware, anti-spyware, and any other anti-whatever that is running and required with that secure OS the computer is running.

If I have iPad1 and if I lose it or brake it and buy a ipad2 can I restore all the thing I had through the computer if so how
Depends on several factors.
For one, all the apps you've bought can be re-downloaded and synched, so that's not a problem.
However, certain content that's created on the iPad may not. In order for this to restore you will need to have synched your iPad, either with iCloud or with iTunes running on your desktop computer.
If you've synched with your desktop then you can restore the iPad back to the last sync. -

My ipad2 was accidentally reset and all my applications were deleted. The only thing that appears in the screen is the logo of itunes. How can i restore back the preinstalled applications? Is there anybody who can help?
Did you originally set it up with iTUnes? If so, connect it to that computer, connect your device and open iTUnes. You'll be offered the option to 'set up as new' or 'restore from backup', choose the restore frm backup and it'll restore your device to 'as it was' on the date of that last backup (now if that backup was 6 months ago, then that's where it'll be restored to, 6 months ago and you've lost anything between now and then.
If all your apps aren't there, all you need to do is sign in with the apple ID they were purchased under and redownload them. -
How can I restore the large battery icon on my ipad2? It has disappeard and does not appear when I charge my ipad.
It only shows when you turn on your iPad. The moment you slide from left to right it'll disappear.
Note: Charger must be connected.

How can I restore to the Browser View of Book, several missing photo's?
Ten photos are missing from the Browser View of the Book. The photos show up in the Photo View and are checked as being used. They also show up in the working screen view of the book. All other photos in the book show up. Why are the 10 missing? How can I restore just those photos and not all photos for that book? What difference would it make in sending that book to the printer?

I'm not sure of your question
Are you saying that when you view the thumbnails of the book at the top or the screen that some pages do not show the photos even though they are in the book below?
If so that is a minor bug in iPhoto '09 - you can ignore it - it is just a display issue -- I forget exactly how but you can force a refresh of the book thumbnails - maybe double clicking on the book page - or maybe on the thumbnail
But in any case your book is fine (you should preview it before sending - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 )

How can i restore my iphone which was erased by iCloud?? I got my phone back but it wont work when i connect to iTunes.
The following assumes you've been backing up to icloud all along.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings. This will erase your device. Then you will go through the setup screens again as you did when your device was new, and when given the option, select Restore from iCloud Backup.
Let us know if this method does not work. -
I cannot open Adobe photoshop CS2 which I was using 10 days ago. Can I restore the system to before 10 days, so it will work again?

Rosetta can have a 2GB RAM "tax" to manage PowerPC code as well as how that affects performance.
I think real world performance shows both statements to be wrong; consider this:
If that were the case, how come Apple does not include that information in its Snow Leopard installation requirements, since Rosetta is an optional install?
Also, running a PowerPC app on an 2011 i7 Mac with Snow Leopard will run faster than running that PowerPC app on a PowerPC Mac. -
Can not restore data files from backup set
I am trying to restore Server A's backup data to Server B (they are all oracle11g) using rman. The restore commands is below:
rman target /;
shutdown immediate;
startup nomount;
restore controlfile from '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100418/ctl_xxx'
alter database mount;
catalog start with '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100418/';
restore database;
recover database;
alter database open resetlogs;
For the first time, it works. But when i tried to restore another backup data by the same way:
rman target /;
shutdown immediate;
startup nomount;
restore controlfile from '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100425/ctl_xxx'
alter database mount;
catalog start with '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100425/';
restore database;
recover database;
alter database open resetlogs;
The second time, i found that rman restore the old backup data, which means that it restore the data file under '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100418/' instead of '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100425/'.
So I run 'list backup of database summary' to see the backup set lists in control file.
List of Backups
===============
Key TY LV S Device Type Completion Time #Pieces #Copies Compressed Tag
910 B 0 A DISK 18-APR-10 1 1 NO TAG20100418T020007
945 B 0 A DISK 25-APR-10 1 1 NO TAG20100425T020007
But when i run ‘restore database preview summary’ to see the backup set list to restore
List of Backups
===============
Key TY LV S Device Type Completion Time #Pieces #Copies Compressed Tag
910 B 0 A DISK 18-APR-10 1 1 NO TAG20100418T020007
there's no backup set 945 at all. that's why i could not restore data file under '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100425/' at the second time.
So, why two backup list is different ? how can i restore datafile under '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100425/' ?
My backup script is below:
run{
allocate channel c1 type disk;
backup incremental level 0 as backupset format '$DIR/`date +%Y%m%d`/data_%d_c0_%T_%u' database;
sql 'alter system archive log current';
backup archivelog from time 'sysdate-14' format '$DIR/`date +%Y%m%d`/log_%d_%T_%u';
backup current controlfile format '$DIR/`date +%Y%m%d`/ctl_%d_%T_%I_%u';
release channel c1;
Thanks

My purpose is to use the newest backupset of Server A to update Server B. So if Server A crush, Server B will be useful. Is there any other way to do that ?
retention policy :'configure retention policy to redundancy 4'
And Server A do LV0 backup every 7 day, and do LV1 backup ervery other day.
