Can't restore lost session using sessionrestore.bak

So I had quite a big number of tabs opened. Firefox started to slow down badly and then I by accident removed power cord. After I switch on the computer firefox didn't display the usual communicat about restoring the session. So I went and copied sessionrestore.bak and then renamed it to .js and started firefox again. But it does not display lost tabs goes to homepage. What can I do? I tried googling for help but found nothing...

Are you using "Show my windows and tabs from last time" or do you rely on "Save and Quit"?
The latter may not always work reliable.
Firefox will try to restore a crashed session automatically once and copy sessionstore.js from that crashed session to sessionstore.bak
If that hasn't worked then that session might be lost.

My computer crashed a few days ago and I had to reinstall my Windows. I backed up my application data and managed to get the sessionrestore.bak from the previous Firefox, which has gone buried after the format. Is there anyway I can get the Firefox to retrieve the sessions? I can read the .bak file, but it is too troublesome to copy out each link from it as I've got over a hundred tabs stored.

How to restore previous session using the control panel

I have tried all pathways through firefox with no results. There is a way to restore previous session using the control panel. I tried it before and it worked but I forgot to write down the pathway and lost this method. Does anyone know it?

I can't think of anything useful in the Windows Control Panel, but perhaps you were using the System Restore feature? As a shortcut for that, you could try the Previous Versions tab of the Properties dialog for sessionstore.js or sessionstore.bak.
First, I recommend backing up your current sessionstore files.
Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Leaving that window open, switch back to Firefox and Exit
Copy sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak to a safe location (e.g., Documents folder). If you cannot see those file extensions, try this Microsoft support article: [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/865219].
Then right-click sessionstore.js, click the Previous Versions tab, and see what is available.

The apple ID was his personal account and can no longer gain access. Im sure I can get purchase recipts from the accounting department if needed. I tried to put the Ipad in restore mode and used itunes to "recover" the ipad but it still wont let me in because he registered the device with the "lost iphone" feature or whatever that is.

It was my grandson who lost my videos..supposedly it happened when he was handling and update on my phone. Since then, the videos that my friend messaged to me last summer are gone. I did a backup today that should have included them, but they are still not to be found. And, of course, I really need them and to remake them will cost me a lot of money. I lost all my tabs including those in two groups (maybe 100 tabs) that I'd been keeping for a couple of years and in some cases much longer. Very occasionally I'll get the "oops this is embarrassing" message from FF and when I click on the Restore Previous Session button they reappear.
What happened this time is that when booting my computer (Windows 7), Adobe Flash wanted to download an update, and instead of waiting for the boot to finish as I normally would, I clicked on the Adobe Flash Download Update button. It then opened FF and hung, so I eventually used Task Manager to end FF. After the computer finished booting, when I opened FF it had no open tabs or groups, and the Restore Previous Session option (and each of the other options in that grouping in the History menu) was greyed.
When investigating, I find I do have the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files from yesterday (each about 4.5 mb), but I don't know how to access them because the Restore Previous Session option is greyed.

Awesome. And maybe back up your sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files somewhere outside of your Firefox settings folder in case you need them for a future recovery. (That would involve copying them back to your active profile folder while Firefox is closed so it finds them when it starts back up again.)

I was working with two windows and 8-10 tabs in each window when my Firefox became unresponsive, and I received a string of JavaScript error prompts when I attempted any activity in the browser (such as scrolling). I've followed step 1, which didn't work. I haven't proceeded to step 2, because I know I will definitely lose my previous session along with all recent history. Before I continue to step 2, is there any way that I can grab the URLs that were in my previous session and stash them somewhere to manually restore after fixing the error?
By the way, the crashing started when I tried to visit mail.google.com--typing that address in a new tab started the JavaScript errors when things had been running smoothly. I actually closed out several tabs when attempting to reopen my session, just trying to get things up and running again (and Save All Tabs) before I ran into the database error. I never got the opportunity to save my tabs.
I'm running Mac OS X Lion. Help?

According to this article, a reset will keep browsing history, which should allow me to access my lost tabs IF it will also fix my database problem.

After updating adobe flash and restarting firefox for mac, as requested, can't restore previous session

using macbook pro with os 10.7.5, was recommended to update adobe flash while in firefox (22.0). did so, which required closing and restarting firefox during flash update. when complete, firefox opened automatically to adobe flash window and restore previous session was grayed out. can't figure out how to find and restore the tabs i had been using. related questions and answers don't find a solution. my settings are all normal and do not appear to have any relation to the problem. rather, it seems to be the closing and reopening of firefox associated with the updating of flash that nuked any memory of my previous session. is there a solution?

i found my own solution to my problem! first of all, DON'T QUIT FIREFOX -- to be sure the current undesirable session doesn't become the "previous session". instead, open a new window (command-N). in my case, it opened to my usual default url and, while in that window (either before or after closing the first browser window that had opened automatically after updating adobe flash), the "restore previous session" option in history menu reappeared! clicked on it and, from then on, things just worked normally.

How can I restore lost voicemails after iOS 5 update?

I've seen a lot of posts of this sort, but I've been trying to fix this issue for months and I really need some experienced help... When I updated my phone to iOS 5, I received a message saying my phone couldn't be restored because the backup was encrypted--I had neither requested nor set a password for this encryption. The phone now had none of my information on it, notes, texts, voicemail. I panicked, called Apple, and they helped me find a way to restore the notes from files in iTunes, which is a relief because I'm a writer and had a lot of work in there.
However, the phone started asking me for a voicemail password that to my knowledge, I had never set. I tried a few passwords and attempted a few other methods of recovery, all to no avail. So I reset my voicemail password, as all the online literature I could find suggested. However, the "password is incorrect, please enter your password" prompt then no longer showed up. After long deliberation I set up visual voicemail over again, but to my dismay I no longer have any saved messages.
At this point I have lost over a year's worth of text messages and voicemails. Some of these were incredibly important to me. I would love to recover all of it if possible, but I particularly care about the saved voicemails. Some of these were from my girlfriend during a difficult time in our lives and I really need them back. I also lost important texts from my girlfriend, best friend, and siblings, but the most important thing is the voicemails.
Nothing I'm concerned about is more than a year old, but there are around five or six voicemails I need. No, there is no deleted folder from which I can undelete messages, I know how to do that. My phone is not yet jailbroken but I'm not against doing it if it will allow other methods of restoration to be attempted. I do some coding myself and I'm not daunted by the prospect of sifting around in my computer's files and command line, by the way. I still have all the itunes backups, although half of them are still encrypted with an unknown password. I will pretty much try anything to get these messages back.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I know of no way to remove encryption on iTunes backups if you've forgotton the password. If you've used the 4 digit PIN code to lock your iPhone in the past that can sometimes default as your "password" for this encryption in iTunes. Try that PIN or any PIN you've used in the past. If you don't use a lock maybe you played around with that feature once when you first got your phone....try "1,2,3,4" or anything you could have possibly tried.
As far as accessing older unencrypted backups you can try this software. I do not have any experience using it but it seems like it's what you need and is probably the easiest route for both voicemail and texts:

I know with AT&T, voicemails are only stored on their servers for 30 days so any voicemail older than that you would not have been able to access again.
