Can't review apps

I am having problem on my ipad mini 2.  I only have one Apple ID, and every time I try to post a review, I get the message "you must have purchased or downloaded this item to write a Customer Review."  This problem is with most of the Apps. The application is already installed on my ipad and i am even using it.  I tried this several times but everytime i get this same message.
please fix this soon as its really a trouble.

Make sure that you've installed the app on the same Apple ID as that you are reviewing with.
If that is the case, maybe this help article can help you: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3928
In the case of Family sharing, only the Apple ID that bought it can place reviews on the specific product.

I wonder if this is an internal issue...

  • Can not review apps. Works fine on IPod

Recently I have been unable to post reviews on the IPAD. I have no trouble on the IPOD. Everything is up to date and Synced. Have done a hard boot as well. There are no other problems. I have searched and found people have had this problem in the past. Any resolutions?

  • Can't review paid apps

I've paid for apps but can't review them.
When I hit the review button I get the message:
+You must own this item to write a customer review.+
I checked my purchases on my iTunes account and receipts in mail, and it's hunky dory.
    Any ideas?

I'm having the same issue. I purchased and downloaded an application, sync'd it and played with it a couple times. When I went to add a review, iTunes told me that I needed to purchase the application before I could do that.

    Hello Nicke,
    Thank you for your response.
I have enabled the Analyctic and Debug log for the Management and Publishing server and let it run for 30min.
The debug log only shows 1 error when I used iisreset telling me the management server is unavailable (which it indeed was for a brief second). Otherwise it is completely empty.
The analyctic log show the following when I refresh my packages on the client (but don't see any errors in it).
    Handle refresh request
    Get entitled package list
    Get user group list
    Get user group list
    Get entitled package list
    Write package list to XML
    Write package list to XML
    Handle refresh request
Especially the write package list to XML looks interesting, but in the details I don't see anything special/wrong:
The analytic log for the management server only shows Get Publishing Metadata every 5 seconds (The time which the xml files should be refreshed).

  • Can a demonstration App for a make believe business be placed in App Store?

Can a demonstration App for a make believe business be placed in App Store as an App Dev sales tool, or likely to not go through?  I am experienced launching real Apps but not in this new category of business interest.  Let’s say hypothetically I want to sell DPS Apps to small restaurants who want to share menus, atmosphere photos, etc. As a demonstration tool, can I make up a restaurant name, use royalty free restaurant stock and have  a related demo App as a client sales tool and expect that to make it into the Apps Store?  If not, any suggestions other than Adobe Content viewer alone to have a demo tool that clients can see working like a native App to help me get started?

I haven't tried it but my guess is that full on dummy app would probably have problems getting through the review process.
What you could try is building an app for your business, and within the app having a section that is devoted to the dummy app, showing off the functionality you offer.
I could see that still having a few potential problems, but it seems like it would be a lot more likely to get through the review process.

  • Can the Review Widget be reformatted?

I am having a hard time making a review widget fit on my page. I can seem to reduce the white space around my three possible answers? Also, would rather have all three on one line to run across the bottom of the page, rather than stacked. Anyone know if this is possible?

This is a IBA community site, so I try to find solutions and workarounds that work in IBA.
Sure there are going to be things that can't be done in IBA and are best done with an iPad App.
But IBA is a lot easer then programing an iPad App and I think a lot of the people on this site can't program an iPad App (including me)
If something can't be done in iBA that i know of, that's what I say. I figure If someone can program iPad Apps then they probably already know if that is the better route to go.
I really don't think using Keynote or html widgets is band-aiding IBA.
If you can make a quiz/review in Keynote that works better for your needs then the review widget, use it.
To be honest, for what I think joeandginny1 need, I think this is a workable solution and there is no need to use something besides IBA.
Also, if they don't want to use Keynote, another solution could be to run the review widget full screen only, and have the hot spot to launch the full screen review along the bottom of the page (on top of a text box with the question etc.)

  • Unable to review apps ("to review this app, you must have purchased it from the Mac app store)

I've been having this problem since getting my iMac, about 6-8 months ago.
I can review apps for about 3-4 hours after buying them; sometimes for up to 12 hours.
Then it's as if I cross a magic, invisible, and powerfully frustrating barrier - whenever I try to review an app, I get a message saying 'to review this app, you must have purchased it from the Mac App Store.'
In many ways, the App Store is clearly aware that I HAVE purchased it from the Mac App Store. The button at the top of the screen - the one that would usually say 'purchase' - says 'installed.' I can DL updates. I can, for the first sprinkling of hours, provide (and edit) reviews. However, after this mysterious cutoff, the one thing I can't do is leave a review...
Mac App Store support have been well-intentioned, but utterly hopeless.
They started by suggesting I had an 'iTunes error -50', and that I delete / renew my network settings (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1811). I didn't have an iTunes error -50, and the fix didn't work.
They then suggested that I change my iTunes ID so that it was associated with a new email account. OK, right. Done that. Still no joy.
They then suggested that I sign out with my iTunes ID, and then sign back in again. Something which I'd already tried repeatedly, with no joy. (I've also tried deauthorising and reauthorising my computer - again with no joy).
    Any other thoughts greatly appreciated...

    Try this....
In App Store, go to Purchases (top menu). Find the app you want to review, make sure it is marked Installed. Then click on the app from that window. Now try to write a review. This worked for me, but it could also be something I ate.

  • Can't preview apps on iPad

Using ios 5.0.1 and there are no previews for apps in the app store. What to do?

There are no app previews.  Some app creatorsd post a "lite" version that's free and a "full featured" version for sale.
All you can do is refer to the posted reviews.
You can also get app descriptions and reviews at http://appshopper.com/

  • Unable to review app

On Saturday I downloaded a new app (Home Inventory) from the MAS. On Sunday I wrote a review of it and clicked preview, then spotted an error so clicked edit. I was then greeted with an empty editing screen so clicked cancel. Yesterday, feeling bad about giving up, I went back to write the review again. Now when I click on "Write A Review" the MAS tells me that I must have purchased the app through them to write a review. I even deleted and redownloaded the app but still the same message.
I can write reviews for other apps.

  • Can't "Review" my new apple ID account states invalis email address format??? WT heck?

Tried loggiung into iTunes with newly created apple ID (I have a new phone) and it states " You have not used this ID before aty itunes, Please Review"
So I accept the Terms and Conditions, Review my email address and password and security and DOB.  Click next and it States" You must yuse a valid email address (for example [email protected])."  Obviously thinking my email address is missing a character that makes it an email address.  So it is just stuck here, and I can not download apps?  Any help appreciated.

Thank you so much for your information.  I had the same problem with an Apple ID which was from an old account used to purchase things from the Apple Store, but never used to purchase any content from the iTunes/App store.  So what the "Please review" problem seems to be related to is not having a "verified" payment information associated with the iTunes Store.
Similar to what dorrall7 suggested, I got onto an iPad and went into the Settings.  Under the iCloud settings (even if you aren't using iCloud) I signed in so that I could get to this Apple ID's Payment Information.  This is the only way I could get to Payment Information.  The iTunes & Apps Stores settings on the iPad didn't allow for verifying Payment Information.  The Manage my Apple ID option through appleid.apple.com also doesn't have Payment Information to verify.
I didn't want to keep the old credit card information on file, so I canceled this Payment Information, and went back to sign in on the computer's iTunes.  This time it now gave me a "Verification is required. Before you can make purchases, you must click OK, then verify your payment information." message.  No more annoying unresolved "You must enter a valid email address (for example: [email protected])." message and being stuck on the Edit Apple ID Details page.  From there more normal functions were available and I was able to provide and update the necessary information.
To think this all started with "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store.  Please review your account information."  The sad part is I spent HOURS talking to Apple Support and was told everything looked fine with the account.  So if Apple would just correct that "You must enter a valid email address" message and instead take you to the Payment Information section, all would be fine.
Things were worse on the iPad, since you never got any error message when trying to purchase something through the App Store, but was left stuck looking at your Apple ID account information, with no way to get to the Payment Information section.  Hope this problem gets fixed so that no one else needs to wonder why things aren't work--especially since these would be new customers to the iTunes store who happen to be long time Apple customers.

  • I cant review apps in itunes or from my iphone any ideas?

For some reason I can not seem to review apps, songs, movies or anything come to think of it, from my iphone. This has been going on for yonks now. I thought this issue would have been resolved with the various updates that Apple has issued, but this has not happend. I am currently using IOS 6, but I have been experiencing the same issue for a while now. I am logged into my account when I try to give a review, when I go to submit it nothing happens.
Any ideas how I resolve this?

This could be caused by the way the iPhone is connecting to the internet; some ISP's block port 25. Can the iPhone send emails after disconnecting from the Wi-Fi network?
If the issue is not present when you disconnect from the Wi-Fi network, try changing the outgoing server port in Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendars> tap the MobileMe account> Account Info> Advanced> Change the Server Port to 587 under Incoming Server. Then re-join the Wi-Fi network and test.
Few have reported that they had to delete their mobilme account from my the iPhone and then run the wizard again to get it working

I WAS MAKE A APPLE ID AND I HAVEN'T CREDITCARD SO HOW CAN  I REVIEW IT

If you only want the free apps, take a look here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is  critical. Note that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free apps without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)
    Regards.
