Can't "Review" my new apple ID account states invalis email address format??? WT heck?

Tried loggiung into iTunes with newly created apple ID (I have a new phone) and it states " You have not used this ID before aty itunes, Please Review"
So I accept the Terms and Conditions, Review my email address and password and security and DOB.  Click next and it States" You must yuse a valid email address (for example [email protected])."  Obviously thinking my email address is missing a character that makes it an email address.  So it is just stuck here, and I can not download apps?  Any help appreciated.

Thank you so much for your information.  I had the same problem with an Apple ID which was from an old account used to purchase things from the Apple Store, but never used to purchase any content from the iTunes/App store.  So what the "Please review" problem seems to be related to is not having a "verified" payment information associated with the iTunes Store.
Similar to what dorrall7 suggested, I got onto an iPad and went into the Settings.  Under the iCloud settings (even if you aren't using iCloud) I signed in so that I could get to this Apple ID's Payment Information.  This is the only way I could get to Payment Information.  The iTunes & Apps Stores settings on the iPad didn't allow for verifying Payment Information.  The Manage my Apple ID option through appleid.apple.com also doesn't have Payment Information to verify.
I didn't want to keep the old credit card information on file, so I canceled this Payment Information, and went back to sign in on the computer's iTunes.  This time it now gave me a "Verification is required. Before you can make purchases, you must click OK, then verify your payment information." message.  No more annoying unresolved "You must enter a valid email address (for example: [email protected])." message and being stuck on the Edit Apple ID Details page.  From there more normal functions were available and I was able to provide and update the necessary information.
To think this all started with "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store.  Please review your account information."  The sad part is I spent HOURS talking to Apple Support and was told everything looked fine with the account.  So if Apple would just correct that "You must enter a valid email address" message and instead take you to the Payment Information section, all would be fine. 
Things were worse on the iPad, since you never got any error message when trying to purchase something through the App Store, but was left stuck looking at your Apple ID account information, with no way to get to the Payment Information section.  Hope this problem gets fixed so that no one else needs to wonder why things aren't work--especially since these would be new customers to the iTunes store who happen to be long time Apple customers.

    I was able to correct this by going into Safari privacy settings and changing the accept cookies from Never to only visited.

    No. You can share the same Apple ID for iTunes content, but for everything else...FaceTime, iMessage, iCloud, etc., you really need separate Apple ID's & these iD's must be verifiable email addresses. If you don't set things up that way, you'll have a mess on your hands.

    First , i tried to process the apple id on the itunes via the phone, but it gives me the message ' itunes cannot process the request now'.
    And money was deducted off my credit card because of the verifying process. ( USD 1 )
    And second time, i tried to process the apple id via my imac ( computer ). I read from the helps/suggestions here that there are suppose to be a 'None' for payment method. It never appear.
    Anyhow, i tried to key in the credit card details again, and again money was deducted off my credit card ( USD 1 ) once more.

    What's happening ? Tried to 'review' the account because cannot sign in the itunes with the new apple id, and every time i tried to 'review'. it brings me back to the same payment window, and i get money deducted off my credit card !
    Is itunes down or making a mess right now ?

    You can create an iTune and App Store account without credit card details
    1. Sign out of current Apple ID if you are sign-in to one (important)
    2. Go to App Store and select a free app
    3. Tap INSTALL APP
    4. Create New Apple ID
    5. Confirm Your Country
    6. Agree with Terms and Conditions
    7. Fill in your Apple ID and Password (you must create a new Apple ID; don't use your old Apple ID)
    8. Create and answer your secret question
    9. Select NONE for Payment Method
    10. Fill in Billing Address
    11. Submit application for new Apple ID
    12. Wait for verification email
    13. When email arrive, verify your account
    14. Start downloading your free apps

    Basically I used to share an Itunes and Icloud account with my dad. I got a new Iphone 4S and after some problems regarding music syncing (solved) everything seemed to be fine. My dad now has got a new Iphone 4S (Only a couple of days after me) and when he synced his phone to Itunes itunes recognised his phone as mine. He then got all my pictures, contacts - his phone was basically a replica of mine. His phone is in the process of restoring though we have not chosen an Icloud account to connect his phone to because we believe that is were the problems have come from, so we have left it for now, not restored just yet.
    I created a new Apple ID and made my phone have this different Apple ID, so now our phones have different Apple IDs.
    What I am asking is: can I connect my phone (with a new apple ID) to the Itunes that my dad and I shared with the other Apple Id that he still has?
    If you need more details do ask as it is a bit of a strange situation. What I am wary of is me connecting my Iphone to Itunes and because my Iphone now has a different ID it will mess Itunes up or something.

    No you do not have to sign in/out every time.
    Sign in with the account you want to use.  Store > Sign In.
    Then authorize the computer for both accounts.  Store > Authorize Computer.
    You will still have complete access to the content purchased under both accounts but will only be acquiring content going forward with the account that is signed in.
    All of this is done in iTunes on the computer and has nothing to do with the iPhone.
    On the iPhone, you simply sign in with the account you want to use.  Settings > Store > Sign In.

    If yo set up an account the normal way you have to add a valid payment method, like a credit card or redeem an iTunes gift card.
    Yo can however create a NEW account using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.

  • Can I Delete my Current Apple ID Account then Re-Create/Re-Register a New Version of It but Use the Same Apple Username & iCloud E-Mail Address I Had Before?

    I already had an Apple ID before registering for iCloud e-mail.
    This means that my Primary Apple ID is my @gmail.com e-mail address (the one I originally registered my Apple ID with), however I'd prefer that my Primary Apple ID were my new @iCloud.com e-mail address.
    Yet, I already know that it is simply not possible to make my new @iCloud.com e-mail address my Primary Apple ID in any easy/simple sort of manner.
    My understanding is, the only possible way I could use an @iCloud e-mail address as my Primary Apple ID now is to make a brand new Apple ID account. However, I want to keep/continue using my current @iCloud e-mail address and my Apple username (JRCSaunders) -- I don't want to have to choose a new @iCloud e-mail address or Apple username.
    So basically what I'm wondering is if there is any possibility that I might be able to completely delete/erase my current Apple ID and then re-create a new Apple ID using my current/existing @iCloud.com e-mail addressas my Primary Apple ID and re-using the same Apple username I have now (JRCSaunders)?
    I'm just trying to think of a work-around so that I can make my current/existing @iCloud e-mail address my Primary Apple ID, which does not seem possible without having to create an all-new Apple ID account. But I don't want to create a new account if it means having to change any of my current addresses/names/etc. to new/different ones. So, is what I described (deleting then re-creating using the same names/addresses/info) possible?

    Start here (change country if necessary) and navigate to 'Password and Security', reset your security questions using the link provided, you will receive an email to your rescue address, use the link in the email and reset your security questions.
    If that doesn't help, you don't receive a reset email or you don't have a rescue address, you should contact AppleCare who will initially try to assist you with a reset email or if unsuccessful will pass you to the security team to reset your security questions for you.
    If you are in a region that doesn't have international telephone support try contacting Apple throughiTunes Store Support.

    I don't use that email anymore. I have a gmail that I've been using for a number of years now. My question is how I can set up a new Apple ID that the @gmail.com email address is the actual ID itself, and not just the Primary Email Address for the the @me.com/@icloud.com. I want to be able to control everything of mine (including iTunes/App Store purchases) on the new ID and just ditch the old email once and for all.
