Can't run/test movies in Flash

I'm running Flash CS5 on a Mac (yes I've got Adobe running). However, when I press Cmd and Rtn I get the followng error message: "Error opening URL 'file:////Volumes/myname/Documents/myname%27s%20docs/Adobe/Mastersuite/Dreamweaver/jbsite 005/posts/links002.swf'"
Any suggestions about how I can run movies in Flash?

We can try deleting your user configuration folder and preferences file.
Do this:
1. Quit Flash if you have it running.
2. Browse to Volume/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/ delete Flash CS5 folder.
3. Go to this link and follow instructions to delete your preferences files: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/520/cpsid_52048.html
4. Relaunch Flash.

Flash CC Won't Run Test Movie

Sometimes when I run test movie or debug movie, the Export SWF Movie dialog displays but then the running movie never displays. After many seconds, a Debug Session Failed dialog displays and “Socket closed” displays in the output window. I can try to run test movie multiple times with no success but each time a SimController process is created and no Simulator window displays. This is on Mac OS 10.8.5 with Flash CC publishing an AIR for iOS 3.8 movie.
It might be occurring sometimes after a script has been changed in Flashbuilder and is open in Flash CC. I try to run Test Movie in Flash CC and it gives me the changed script/save dialog, I save, and then test the move. However, this works most of the time, but at least a couple times it may have occurred and led to the above error.
It occurs with multiple different AIR 3.8 movies. It occurs with other AIR movies such as AIR Desktop, but AS3 movies run.
The only way to fix is to restart the OS. Restarting Flash CC doesn’t help. Killing all the SimController processes doesn’t help.
The only log message I see at the error time is:

I'm on a 2012 desktop with OS X 10.8.4 using a bluetooth keyboard. Cmd + ~ works with all other Adobe programs I have installed including Flash CS5.5.

Can I import Director movies into Flash?

Can Flash handle Director movies? I am making a presentation
of my artworks in Flash environment; I have both Flash and Director
movies. I know that I can import all my swf movies into Director
MX2004 to create a standalone projector and play both swf an ddir
movies. Does it work for the reverse?

No, you can't import or display Director movies in Flash in
any way. Best
you can do is launch the Director executable from the Flash
movie, though
how you do this depends on which version of Flash you are
using.

Can't run Test-CsLisCivicAddress

This was working just a few days ago, while our Lync deployment expert was here (naturally.) But now it doesn't seem to work.
I needed to update one of the locations in our LIS database. It's a field office that moved three doors down, so the street number changed. Anyway, I removed the old entry and recreated it with the new address; no problem there. We're partnered
with 911 Enable, so I needed to run test-CsLisConfiguration -UpdateValidationStatus. Like I said, it was working fine just a couple of weeks ago. Now when I run it, I get this error:
I verified that I have the right credentials, and even tried running it using our deployment experts account. I also tried running it with a specific address instead of the entire list, but got the same error. Our deployment expert ran the same command
in his own environment (not ours, but he's also partnered with 911 Enable), and it ran no problem. Consequently I have to assume that the problem isn't on 911 Enables side.
Has anyone seen this before?

How can i run older versions of flash player on youtube etc without being prompted to update my flash player/not being able to use the old version?

i want to run adobe flash player 10.3 on youtube etc because it has little to no fps lag on videos compared to the newer versions of adobe flash on my current laptop. is there any way to disable the checking of my flash player version in firefox so i wont be prompted to upgrade and i can use flash 10.3 to watch videos? plz help ty.

Can't run some MOV in Windows Media Player

I find that some of my MOV files will run in Windows Media Player and some will not. I'm not sure what is causing this and don't know where to start. The only things I know that is different is that in the details the MOV's that won't play don't have any height or width. There is no error I can find.

I generate a large number of MOV files every week for the media company I work for. 100% work as expected and have for some time now. We spent months finding the right variables to produce a file type that was optimal for the applications we use to display multiple full motion content. All these files were only a portion of the screen with a banner running below (weather, news ticker, etc.). Recently I was asked to produce MOV files that take up the entire screen. 0% of them work and I have only changed the screen size. I have been converting them to WMV's to make it work but that is extra work and I don't have the time to maintain two sets of content for my clients and my clients don't want to handle two sets either. I think I am missing a setting or something that is causing the full screen movies to output with no height or width.

Yes, Im also getting the same error.
This is what I've done:
1) Installed Jinitiator on the client m/c.
2) Created a html- with coding for IE and Netscape.
3) Configured Jinitiator Control panel. with debug on. and gave the path for JRE.
4) When the hmtl is launched, the applet is beginning to load, but the error as indicated
by arjohnson popus up.
-But virtual path is meant only when you are using the oracle web-server as well.
I m using just the Forms Server to launch the form on the web.

Using iPad (6.01), can't run videos requiring Adobe Flash Player (AFP). When I try to download the AFP sw, I receive a msg stating that AFP is not supported by my device, though it is supported by Apple Desktops & mobile devices! Any suggestions?

There is no Flash Player for iOS devices. Adobe has to make a Flash player for each different computing platform. Just because Flash exists for Mac and Windows computers, does not automatically mean it exists for completely different mobile operating systems.
Adobe ceased development of Flash for all mobile devices way back in November 2011. It has even been removed from Android devices as of August 2012.
Flash on mobile is dead.

Crossdomain.xml allow Flash CS4 Test Movie sandbox?

If I set the crossdomain to allow all with a wildcard, running test movie on the FLA within Flash CS4 works. But is there a way to allow my specific computer instead? I've tried adding my IP address, but that doesn't seem to be working.

The SWF is attempting to load external assets using an absolute path 'http://mydomain.com/stuff'.

Setting flashvars in AS3 when testing movie

Does anyone know how to set flashvars when running a movie in CS4 using Control->Test Movie? Under ActionScript 2 I could just set _root.flashVar, what's the equivalent in AS3?

In AS3, the flashvar parameters don't appear as top level properties, they are found under "root.loaderInfo.parameters". So I can look up a parameter like this:
trace("myVar=" + root.loaderInfo.parameters.myVar);
I'd like to be able to do something like setting this parameter in my test code like this:
root.loaderInfo.parameters.myVar="test value";
...but this doesn't seem to work. No error message when I try this (either running "Test Movie" in CS4 or running in Flash Player in FireFox). Looking at the doc page for flash.display.LoaderInfo, it says that the "parameters" property is readonly.
I wish there were some kind of dialog in CS4 to allow me to set up flash vars for testing under Control->Test Movie, but if there is such a thing, I haven't found it yet!

CS4 Test Movie window keeps defaulting back to minimal size

When I go to Test Movie in Flash CS4 the screen defaults back to minimal size each time I preview. In CS3 which I still use as well, after the first time you test your movie and maximize your window (I like to see the site with the background color) it will be maximized the next time you preview. With CS4 I have to maximize each time I test the movie. I've looked in preferences and can't seem to find a setting for this.
Any help would be so appreciated.

Control Test Movie (settings)

novice here, flash cs3 on mac
when i Control > Test Movie with an animation, the preview is not cropped to the stage size
i see eveything out in the grey, which i don't want to see
i just can't find the right settings, if they exist
i'm assuming the stage is akin to the page bounding box in illustrator, so test movie should behave like 'print preview'?

i guess my prob is, my test swf just opens in a new Flash tab, same size as the Flash drawing board area
my banner is only 150 px tall, and i can't even minimize the flash window that short, plus it's a pain to have resize your flash window everytime you want to view a properly 'cropped' preview
can i set test movie to automatically open in a new correctly-sized window? i understand the swf will ultimately be viewed on a browser-sized html page, but doesn't the stage crop out everything in the grey when you publish it??

Scrollbar in Test Movie

I am creating a flash website and have a stage which is quite large (720 x 100 px). Therefore, when I do test movie in flash the content appears very small so that it fits all on the screen. When I try to zoom in, no scrollbar appears, however, to enable me to view all the content. Is there a way to zoom in the content of the flash movie & have the scrollbar appearing once this is done?? Or do I have to create it manually?? thanks

Test Movie works, but...

I am able to Test Movie in Flash, but I am not able to
Preview HTML; i just the background color of the Scene in the

the HTML looks right, and all files are in the same
directory, I cant why else it would not display.
