Assuming you are still in the first thirty days of the trial,
you should
call Adobe tech support so they can help you unlock it.

    I am an accountant at a municipality that implemented PeopleSoft in June 2009. We have had nVision training and tried to use it for our FY10 financials. We ended up hand-keying all of our financials into Excel spreadsheets, via data from various queries and ledger inquiries.
    So far, we are unimpressed with nVision.
    I've been charged with the task of finding out what other people do with nVision.
    1. Can you use nVision to create a trial balance? Our GL string is 7 chartfields long.
    2. Is it possible to use nVision to create a GL detail report?
    If the answer to one or more of these questions is no:
    1. How do you run trial balance reports in PeopleSoft? The canned reports we've seen have been unreliable and very non-user-friend.
    2. How do the rest of you run GL detail detail reports?
    FYI - the City I work for did NOT purchase certain parts of the implementation - things that could've possibly provided what we need. I've never in my life used an accounting software that didn't have reliable trial balance or GL detail reports. I've been told we need to put millions of dollars into "data warehousing" to get what we need. Personally, I had our programmer create a query that gives me all GL detail, and I use pivot tables and other advanced Excel functions to build my data from that. But I'm the only one in my department who knows how to do this and they won't listen to me.

    Unless you have spotted anything specifically that stops you configuring a downloaded trail version of WLS with SSL then I think it should be possible. I didn't have any trouble configuring SSL on the trail CDs sent to me by post. My understanding is that the main/only limitation on the trail version is the number of client connections you can make to it is limited to 5.

    I want to install 16 gb ram but I don't think I can change the lack of video card. I wanted this basic machine because it has fairly long battery life. I don't need or want retina at this time. My model is the mid 2012 model. I am running the adobe collection for mac, I want to run the windows versions. Is it possible? What is the most ram I could access using something like fusion 5, assuming I could get fusion 5 to work? would it refuse to run because of the intel chipset and lack of video card?
    If I'm wrong and there is a way to add a video card to this model, could some version of fusion and windows 7 access more than 2 gb operating ram?
    What  cost would I be incurring, and would it be cheaper to buy a windows laptop with more ram than I could access via a virtual machine?
    I want to work on a client's work in the windows versions of the creative suite, with occasional usage of after effects for windows, and to use some web plug-ins only available in windows versions, and to try some windows-only video and audio software.

    My mbp os is 10.8.2 on a 2.5 GHz intel core i5 4 gb 1600MHz DDR3 with 500 hard drive. the basic 13" mid 2012 machine.
    I'm hoping to install 16 G of opertating ram to allow more adobe programs to run concurrently- just when I am working on the mac side.
    also, off track but, for years I have wanted a small  machine that is more easily portable than my 15" machines. I have only had this used machine for a few weeks, but already I have been very satisfied and used it for presentations at clients. I don't want an air because I really want the dvd burner and player. No matter what apple says about wireless, there are decades of legacy work stored on optical discs all over the world, and I don't want to be unable to open something at a client's office because I don't have a dvd drive. Additionally, I have very large files I want to transfer via ethernet or firewire so that the transfer will take less time and be more secure than wifi. I resist apple's trend to make every machine a disposable toy that is viable only a year or so. I have read reviews that label the mbp it a poor value compared to the air. If all you need to do is text and communicate via wifi, many devices will sufice, and an air is certainly the most elegant. But what about the cost of large ssd's and protecting the drive against damage from shock? I want to be able to move this thing around and the small size is much safer inside my padded bag when I sit in narrow airplane seats, crowded trains and other congested spaces. I am much more likely to be able to borrow a large screen in a client's office ( with the use of one of the three adapters I had to buy) than to be able to borrow a dvd drive that has drivers for mac os 10.8.2. I suspect this may be the last generation of machines that have optical drives and ethernet, and that was why I purchased it so that I could continue to do work into the next few years. I am impressed by the retina display, but I need long battery life. And as beautiful as the retina display is, it is even more of a problem when trying to cross platform with the windows world. I wish I could infuence apple to do a trial product flow for a machine designed to work with 80% of the business world that uses windows. How spectacular that would be. With all their expertise and adept hardware design, to create a machine that cross platforms better than a windows machine itself works? Now that would be an accomplishment.  Instead of 8 or 9 percent of the total computer sales, why not aim for a higher percentage? Smart devices will keep moving toward portable computers in power, anyway.

    Fusion should work on your machine and if you put 16 GB of RAM in (see http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple_MacBook_MacBook_Pro/Upgrade/DDR3_160 0MHz_SDRAM), Fusion can access a good portion of that. Also, in a Virtual Machine, the guest OS is presented with Fusion's video card emulation, not what's in hardware on your Mac. Of course, finding Windows 7 now that Win 8 has been released could take some doing and the Win 8 Pro upgrade price is supposed to jump to $200 the end of the month. Add that to the price of Fusion and the extra RAM and you're beginning to get into the realm of low end real PC's.
    As to cross platform, I assume you're aware of BootCamp (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1461).

    Any help, advice, hints would be really appreciated as having to close programs all the time when switching apps is a real pain in the neck

  • How can I run Google Analytics on my site being hosted in Business Catalyst?

    I already have an existing website which is hosted, and of course I am the domain owner.
    I have created a new modified site in Adobe Muse CC and will wish to upload this new site to my domain once completed.
    I will need to run Google Webmaster tools etc before I replace the old site.
    I do not wish to replace the old site as yet prior to completing the new site in Muse CC
    At present I am "subscribed" to Google Analytics/Webmaster tools as a webmaster under my webmaster site (different) and have placed the "google verification code" metatag in my new site's "page properties <head></head tags only", and have uploaded to Business Catalyst.
    Business Catalyst are not my hosts for this site once it becomes "live". They are my "Trial Hosts"
    ? how can I run google analytics and tools for this new site prior to lauch (ie replacing my old site) ?

    I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. First the information has to be entered on the home page. So the path is Home page> Page properties> Metadata> HTML for <head>. Secondly I was entering the information from the downloaded html file rather than the code they provide  under the alternate methods tab during the verification process .     Can I run 32-bit kernel on OS X Yosemite?

    Not sure if you are still having an issue, but I've encountered similar problems with more recent OS'. I am NOT AN EXPERT HERE so I want to make that clear. I may not be 100% correct in my understanding.
    To my understanding, OS X Lion was the last OS that you can run 32-bit kernels on, but most people seem to prefer Snow Leopard for this task due to better legacy support and how 10.6.8 Snow Leopard is an extremely reliable OS. For Mountain Lion and later, you more or less run the compatibility mode that is the same context as you can do from Windows 8.1. I've had limited success here. I have a copy of OS X Snow Leopard so I can run at 32-bit installed on my hard drive and run OLD apps that do not like Yosemite. As I am running it through VMWare Fusion 7, I can't tell you if you can run Snow Leopard in 32 bit mode via a secondary install or not (I think it depends on your hardware and if your hardware shipped with Mountain Lion or later, then this is NOT possible even if booting through a 32 bit-capable OS...I COULD BE WRONG!)
    One other option is if you have an old copy of Windows XP or something, you can do a 32 bit install through a virtual machine and update the firmware through the VM (obviously you would need drivers to allow it to recognize USB or Firewire or etc. devices to update the FW of a hardware component, which Parallels and Fusion are both capable of and do very well...but they are paid (free trial for both). Oracle has a VM which is free, but I do not know much about its functionality.) There are even certain software apps made to run older programs on OS X reliably...I do not know if they would be of benefit in your case or not.
    Obviously that is a little bit of a pain but truth be told, I find that both Apple and Microsoft OS' have limitations when attempting to run older programs on newer OS. Old programs don't tend to run well on Yosemite or Windows 8.1, despite the fact that the operating systems themselves are reasonably reliable. I don't blame them as it seems this is just something that is very difficult to do reliably in a world where new technology is favored over legacy support. So that is why I have a 32-bit capable version of both OS X and Windows in addition to the current respective 8.1 and 10.10.2.
    If this is a one-time deal and you do not think you will need to do the same thing down the road, you could skip all of the above and just borrow a computer from a friend with a 32-bit OS, or even go to a Fedex Kinkos or something and see if they will let you run the application from there. A lot of Mac users do have Parallels or Fusion on their Mac so someone local might be able to help you out. As Snow Leopard was the last OS to incorporate certain hardware support, it is still used extensively (some estimate it is used on around 1/4 of all Macs).

    My trial version of photoshop cs5 extended has expired.  I would like to unistall it.  When I go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, both photoshop and bridge do not appear in the window.  How do I unistall these programs?

    I did go to programs and features, it is not appearing in add/remove
    programs.  I do have registry booster and it runs about once a month.

    Can't run iTunes, Apple Application Support program missing.  It's a brand new computer, never had iTunes installed.  I've attempted 16 installs, each time uninstalling the previous install and verifying no Apple software installed before trying again; I've also been using different browsers, still no luck.  Windows 7, 64 bit.

    Try downloading 7-Zip (free), or a free trial of WinRAR, and unpack the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe file into its components then try installing them individually in alphabetical order (don't try to install SetupAdmin.exe or iCloud.msi). AAS might not install right now, but you may get a more useful error message as to why not, or it might install once the other components have been installed.

    yeah I thought that may be the case but then realised both After effects and CS3 are 32bit (86x) and I can't run those together

    Which OS are you using? Because there have been some issue with Win7 and PSE4. Try upgrading to PSE8.You can try the trial version of PSE8.

    I have run CS4 photoshop on my Macbook Pro - but now I can't run the trial of either photoshop or dreamweaver - the error says  You can't open the application AdobePhotoshop CS4.app because it is not supported of this architecture.

    i am using the same os x  & recieve the same error message when try to open file after it has 'downoaded' ... all components apart from the actual cs4 photoshop app are there .... i have got elements & had CS3 on my mac with no probs so do not see how / why I can download any adobe apart from this particular program.
