Can't save as HTML in Photoshop

I am trying to create a website using photoshop so I can then upload it into Dreamweaver. I am trying to save it as HTML & Images and went to the "Save for Web & Devices" tab. This is what pops up. I can't find anywhere that allows me to save it as HTML and Images. No tutorial online shows the screen like this. It always just has a simple Save As box. Help?

It only gives the option to save as a .gif or .png and then closes the
window after I hit "save". I'm not offered to save as anything other than
an image file

  • I've doubled my RAM but still can't save big files in photoshop...

I have just upgraded my Ram from the shipped 4GB to 8GB but I still can't save big images in photoshop. It seems to have made no difference to the speed of general tasks and saving and I can't save big files in photoshop at all. I already moved massive amounts of files off my computer and onto my external hard drive, so there is much less in my computer now, and twice the RAM but it is making no noticeable difference. When I click memory, under 'about my mac' it shows that the RAM is installed and now has twice the memory. Could this be something to do with photoshop? I'm running CS6.

Also, I just calculated 220 cm into inches and this is roughly 86.5 inches. Over 7 feet in length.
WIth an image that large, you may want to consider down sampling to a lower DPI to help with being able to work on and process images of this size much easier and it will be easier for your Print house to process, as well.
You might want to consider working with these rather large images at 225 DPI instead of 300 if resolution at close distances is still a concern.
Or what you good try is working with the images at 300 DPI, but then save them/export them as a Jpeg image at the highest image quality setting.
I do a lot of project where I use a high resolution jpeg image to save on image proceesing overhead.
The final printed images still come out pretty clear, clean and crisp without having to process those large files at a print house or having to deal with using that full resolution image in a page layout or illustration program.

  • How can I save a picture in Photoshop Elements that was emailed to me using Photoshop Elements?

How can I save a picture in Photoshop Elements that was emailed to me using Photoshop Elements?

Save the attachment in a folder.
    From the Organizer menu choose:
File >> Get Photos & Videos >> From Files & Folders
Navigate to your image and click Open.
If the photo is embedded, make a copy or screen grab and then whilst it’s still held in memory open the Elements Editor.
    From the menu click:
File >> New >> Image from clipboard
Then use File >> Save As
    Then choose jpeg.

  • Can't 'save for web' in photoshop cc on new mac (yosemite)

I have just upgrade to a new Mac running Yosemite and I can now longer save for web in Photoshop CC
I get an error "no file or directory can be found"
I have notice that in one of my Actions the directories are different on each computer:
on my new computer the directory is shown as:
    "in: /Users/myusername/Desktop/"
on my OLD computer (that works)  the directory is show as:
    "in: Macintosh HD:Users:myusername:Desktop:"
I'm wondering if this is related to my issue when saving
I have spent a lot of time searching and trying different solutions... none have worked

    Exit Photoshop CC.
Try deleting the SFW Prefs.  It's in this directory:
/Users/ ~username~ /Library/Preferences/Adobe/Plugins/Adobe Save for Web CC/Photoshop/Adobe Save for Web CC Prefs

  • I can not save edited photos in Photoshop Elements.

I bought Photoshop elements because i thought it would help me save manipulated photos. When i edit photos and change them, then save the changes under a different file name, I continutally get the unedited original when I try to view the edited photo

    Hi Bucephal,
    That is pretty odd, indeed.
Just so that the community can help - could you provide us with information like what version you're using, which OS, and a brief explanation of what effect you're applying, or how you're manipulating the image?
    Cheers,

  • How can i save separate layers in photoshop elements 10, after i've laid them out as i want?

i'm preparing photographs for an animation sequence that i'm planning to develop in adobe premiere 10.  now that i have the layers as i want them in photoshop elements 10,  i want to save them to a folder to import them into premiere and laid them in different video tracks.  how doi save them?
    Thanks!

You can't. Once it's been flattened, you can't unflatten it. Talk to your designer: he/she will most likely have the unflattened version available.

  • DW CS5 - Can't save as .html file to .php

I have created html file and I want 'save as' to php. When the 'Save as' window appears I do not have the option to save to other formats, such as php.
My colleague has the same version but it is showing the option, I have expanded the 'Save as' window but I still do not see option. All I see is the 'Unicode Noramlisation Code' options.
    Please help

Just delete the .html extention at the end of the filename and add .php
...from the Files window in DW while your Site Defintion is chosen.
DW will update all of the links to file.php from file.html if you change the extension from within the Files window.
Aside from the extension, there is literally no difference between the file types, so simply changing the extension as osgood suggests will work.

Are Photoshop and OS fully updated and have you performed the usual trouble-shooting routines (trashing prefs by keeping command-alt-shift/ctrl-alt-shift pressed while starting Photoshop after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed, 3rd party plug-ins deactivation, system maintenance, cleaning caches, font validation, etc.)?

  • How can I save a Photoshop Elements 12 file as HTML?

How can I save a Photoshop Elements 12 file as HTML?

Sorry, not possible in PSE itself. You'd need to put your photo into the web creation software you use. If you are using an older version of PSE some versions created web albums/galleries which included an index.html page, but that's as much as PSE does. There's nothing like that in PSE 12 since Adobe wants you to use Revel for photo sharing now.

When finished editing click File->Save/Save As and you can either overwrite the original file or rename it and save as new file keeping original intact.
You can find more info on saving and various settings here http://help.adobe.com/en_US/photoshopelements/using/WS287f927bd30d4b1f89cffc612e28adab65-7 fda.html#WS287f927bd30d4b1f89cffc612e28adab65-7fd7

  • Photoshop CS6 can't save to server after upgrading to Mac OS Yosemite Server from Mac Lion Server

We recently upgraded our server from a Mac Pro 2008 with OS X Lion Server to a Mac Mini 2014 with LaCie 20TB 5Big Thunderbolt 2 RAID drive. Everything is working fine with the exception of Photoshop. It does it intermittently but once it happens it will continue to do so. We get message like "Can't save to disk because of disk error" and "Can't save file because of program error" . Sometime we are able to do a "save as" and save over it. Most of the time we have to "save as" with a different file name and then rename and recopy the file. We have check permission on all the file as well as the server HD has ignore ownership checked. Again only three things changed. 1) Sever hardware change from Mac Pro to Mac Mini. 2) Server software upgraded from 10.7 Lion to 10.10 Yosemite(both have the latest update). 3) Drive when from internal on Mac Pro to External Thunderbolt 2 LaCie drive. We have no problem with Illustrator or Indesign. Only Photoshop. Anyone with any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately you seem to be using Photoshop in a way that Adobe discourages, so you may not be getting a lot of helpful advice.

  • Can't Save Photoshop file on Network Server

To start of with some specs, im running Mac OS 10.5.3 and CS1 on a Dual 1.8GHz PowerPC G5, however the issue also exists on a MacMini running the same OS and CS1. I connect to a server at work via afp and that is where we store all of our files. We are usually asked to work on the server and i do just that, however when trying to SAVE a file in photoshop i get an error message...
Could not save "filename" because write access was not granted.
When i try to save again after this error message, it brings me directly to Save As, if i save it as the same file name and replace 95% of the time it works just fine, the other 5% i get the error again and have to repeat the process until it works. Another solution is just saving it to my own desktop and dragging it over to the desired location, no problem there.
I have checked permissions on the server multiple times and obviously it isn't an issue because i am able to simply drag files over and Save As without issue. Also this problem is exclusive to Photoshop CS, i have not had the same issues with GoLive and saving to the server.
I was simply wondering if anyone else had encountered this and had a solution? Thanks in advance.

    you are not alone...

edit: i didn't notice that you are using cs1, but maybe it's a variation on the cs3 problem

  • I edit my photos in Photoshop, save as jpeg then import back into iPhoto.  But if I add text to an image in Photoshop can't save as jpeg but as psd. Is there any way I can change to jpeg in iPhoto?

I edit my RAW photos in Photoschop CS3, save as jpeg then import back into iPhoto 11.  If I add text in Photoshop I can't save as jpeg but as psd.  Is there any way I can change to jpeg in iPhoto?

    Terence Devlin wrote:
Yes you can. But you need to flatten it as jpeg doesn't support layers.
While the final JPEG can't have layers, it is not necessary to flatten the original Photoshop file to create a JPEG. There are two ways to make a JPEG while not losing the flexibility of preserving layers, and they both flatten on the fly while saving.
I just tried this in Photoshop CS3 myself. When I add a text layer, and choose Save, the Save As dialog box comes up and defaults to PSD as was described. But... that is just the default! Go ahead and choose JPEG from the Format pop-up menu down below the file list. JPEG is in there. So what happens to the layers? Notice when you choose JPEG, the Layers box grays out and the "As A Copy" box grays out and is checked (i.e. you cannot uncheck it). What is going on here is Photoshop will gladly make a JPEG of your layered file, but it will force the JPEG to be a copy, so as to not overwrite the original layered file. This is good, because your Photoshop file with its editable text layer is preserved, and you get a JPEG copy to put in iPhoto.
The second way is, instead of doing Save or Save As, choose File/Save for Web and Devices. This will also give you a JPEG choice, and also create an exported copy. Because this way makes files for the Web, they will be smaller than JPEGs from Save As because they will lack built-in previews (which you don't really need these days) and other extra metadata that take up space.
Either way you get a JPEG you can toss back into iPhoto.
    Terence Devlin wrote:
    Only by exporting.
The Export menu in Photoshop CS3 does not have any direct choices for JPEG.

  • Photoshop CS4 can't save as Photoshop PDF

I am trying to save a multi-layer Photoshop CS4 document as a Photoshop PDF file with embedded color profile. Everything is set to the default except for compatibility which I set as Acrobat 5 (PDF 1.4) . The progress bar for writing the file proceeds as normal until the very end at which point it gives an error.
It is very inconsistent as some documents I can save just fine and others I get the following error:
"Could not save as "RPS Poster" because of a program error."
This is very frustrating as it has no rhyme or reason. One file I was able to fix the problem by re-creating one of the layers. I have had many other problems with CS4 running on Snow Leopard and it appears that the CS4 Design suite was not fully tested before its release.

I have had many other problems with CS4 running on Snow Leopard and it appears that the CS4 Design suite was not fully tested before its release.
Yeah, funny how Adobe failed to test their programs on an OS that wasn’t out when they released the suite …
Have You updated all components to the latest versions yet?
    As for the pdf-problem:
What are these default settings exactly?
What are the layers that may be the culprits – normal pixel layers, type, adjustments, groups, smart objects, …?
Have You tried saving without »Preserve Photoshop Editing Capabilities« (naturally one should then additionally keep the layered psd)?
And as with all unexplainable Photoshop-problems You might try trashing the prefs (after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences You’ve changed) by pressing command-alt-shift on starting the program or starting from a new user-account.
