Can't Save Flash Text

Hello
I'm trying to create some basic flash text, but everytime I
try to save the "swf" file within Dreamweaver CS3's "Insert Flash
Text" dialog box I get the following error message,
"welcome.swf is an invalid file name. Please enter a
different name."
and i continue to get the message regardless of whatever
name I use.
I'm using a Mac platform.
Can someone help?

Just so you'll know, using Flash text is always a bad idea -
the whole thing
is being removed from DWCS4 as a result.

Never name your hard drive/computer using an apostrophe.
It'll drive you and
DW mad. Of course, we cannot see that file since it is on
your hard drive.

"Unknown error" when trying to save Flash Text

I get the message "unkown error" every time I try to save
flash text. Help topic in Dreamweaver 8 outlines the steps to take,
but not what to do if it doesn't work. I followed a thread for this
problem in the knowledge base, but it suddenly stopped with no
apparent solution. Please help!
P.S. I did as one responder suggested and opened a new page,
typed some text, and linked it to something in my root folder. File
path is: file:///Macintosh HD/Applications/Macromedia Dreamweaver
8/East Meets West/eastmeeetswest.html

as a guess from years of this- there is a "funky" character
in the hd name,
your username, or a folder name in the path to this local
site folder. Dw
trips up on the character and can't resolved the path to the
local site
folder.

-->don't save this file<--
type some text, select it, and using the property inspector's
Browse to File

Can't save my Text Edit files!

Hope I'm in the right forum. This started yesterday and I don't know why or how to fix it.
I can't save my Text Edit Files (rtf). I got 1 error message that can't save file until problem is fixed but I have no idea what the problem is.
Running Text Edit 1.7.1 (289.5). iMac OS 10.7.5

Hi,
I've been having a similar problem with nonsensical error messages from text edit when I try to save. Repairing permissions doesn't seem to have helped, but I have found that checking the 'hide extension' box in the save window seems to get around it.

Can't save Flash CS5 files

Hi, I can't save my Flash CS5 files. I click file, save as, then appears a gray window with a menu drop down but I can't find any folder to save the file...I've tried to upload a screen shot but when I try to upload the picture the very same gray window appears and I can't do anything...Anyone could give me a hand? When I use other Adobe programs as After effects and Premiere everything works perfectly...!

Thanks for emailing me your FLA file so we could investigate. It looks like one of your assets is corrupted. This file crashes even in Flash CS4 when I drag sparks.jpg to the stage.
Flash CS5 crashes more quickly because it tries to validate this asset on save but can't because that asset is corrupted. If you remove sparks.jpg from the library, you can save the file in Flash CS5.

How can I save MULTIPLE text pictures to camera roll?!

Help. I've google searched it w no success so figured I'd post here.
I have the iPhone 4S. Version iOS 7.0.4(most up to date)
There are many times I have a lot of pics sent to me in a text (for ex: 1 entire text message from 1 contact but they sent me 15 pics)
Is there a way to save ALL 15 at once?! I've tried holding the image, the "more" option but no options prompt/allow me to save all to camera roll in one shot.
Only way I'm seeing to save to camera roll is by going to each individual pic & saving one by one to my camera roll which is entirely too time consuming!

No.
iCloud isn't a file storage service.
You can backup your camera roll but you can only restore the entire roll to the device.
Backup your photos to your computer.

Can I save "my text" (short message scripts) on the Tmobile Curve?

I recently changed from using a Moto Q (Verizon) to the BB Curve (Tmobile). Overall I am very pleased with my change, but I miss the "my text" feature on the Moto Q. I cannot see any equivalent feature on the Curve to save those short scripts (like "I am on my way now") which make sending a quick SMS very easy.
Does anyone know if there is an equivalent feature on the Curve?

I don't think you are able to save SAPScript-like texts into a Z-table.
These long texts are stored centrally in the STXH, STXL tables.
You may save their names in your Z-table, and store-read them using the function elements READ_TEXT, SAVE_TEXT.
Or you might try to enter STRING type fields into your Z-table.
Field1 TYPE STRING.

How can I save a text file to disk from Illustrator ?

I was looking through the Javascript reference and couldn't find anything related to writing strings to a text file on disk.
Is this possible ? If so where should I look ?
Otherwise, can I run a bit of code in Terminal/CommandPrompt from Illustrator (.e.g. echo 'Hello!' >> file.txt) ?

Can't save Flash files to server or NAS

We bought a new iMac yesterday and unfortunately it ships with Mavericks.
With Mavericks installed, i am no longer able to (resave) any Adobe Flash files (.fla) to any of our servers or local storage devices.
When saving the file the first time all seems fine, trying to save the same file again results in the error message bellow.
The error message : "Unable to save the documents as '/volumes/content/users/brian/test.fla' Please try saving to a different filename or ta different location"
Saving a file locally doesn't give me these problems.
My old iMac in the same network with Mountain Lion didn't have these problems.
Is there a method to downgrade this imac to Mountain Lion or is there another workaround?

Sounds like your tif file is in the 16 bits/channel mode.
If you go to Image>Mode are you able to click on 8 Bits/Channel and then are you able to save as a jpeg?

Hello, there's no way to do this from iTunes or the iPhone at the moment but it is possible to extract data from the iPhone backup.
I use the method covered here: http://www.tuaw.com/2007/07/10/scanning-your-iphone-backup-files/ to save SMS messages from my iPhone into a text file.
Without going into too much detail, you convert your iPhone backup into SQLite3 db format via a small Perl script and then open them with a (free) SQLite Database viewer.

I can't save CD-Text that reads with Windows Media Player

I'm trying to burn discs that will play on Windows Media Player showing title, artist, album name, etc., AND play in a stand alone home CD player.
It seems like I've tried almost everything and nothing's working.
I've saved my files as Windows PCM .wav, ACM .wav, WMA, MP3, and OGG and I can't get anything to work. I've burned them with RIFF tags AND MP3(ID3) tags. I've used up dozens of discs and I'm getting nowhere.
I even burned up more discs trying to burn wav, wma, and mp3 files with Record Now software.
I don't know what else I can do. Am I asking too much?

I agree with you on Winamp being the better of the two...but, I was hoping for something like iTunes or QuickTime - I'd prefer something that is already loaded on most people's computers. Do you know which players are more likely to already be on most?

Why can't I save a text written from PC to "Sent" ...

I thought I'd type in a text at the keyboard. I thought it would be a faster experience than using the phone keys even with predictive text. After going to the trouble of entering a contact into phone memory, because PC Suite can't access contacts in the SIM card, I now find I can't save the text I've been able to send to the "sent" folder.
Why? What am I doing wrong - is this another bug?

Have you tried a hard reset (holding the sleep/wake button and home button at the same time until the screen goes black and the apple logo appears)? If so, and if you're still having issues, have you tried to restore through iTunes as a backup? If so, and if you're still having problems, have you tried restoring through iTunes as a new device?
