Can't save in Adobe Reader X 10.1.3

I've been downloading some pdf files for my records and adobe is driving me crazy. I click the disc icon in the grey menu bar and nothing happens. I turned on the toolbar and tried from there. Nothing. I also tried doing ctrl-shift-S. No response. It's also inconsistent. Sometimes, when it's the first file I've downloaded, it will pull up a dialog box and let me save, but then with any subsequent files I get the above result. Very strange.
I'm using the Firefox browser, but opening the pdf files in independent windows.
This has not only frustrated me, but it's a monumental time waster. Help!!!!

As I understand things, using the free Reader you cannot save PDF files that have not been enabled to be saved.

I think that Adobe reader supports file sharing.
Connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. Select the iPad on the left side under "devices". Click on the Apps Tab in the window on the right. Scroll down to the File Sharing Apps list under the main apps list. Click on Adobe Reader. Drag the documents into the file sharing window on the right or select them using the "add" button.
Launch the Adobe reader app and the files should be in there.

changes the security for Signing to Not Allowed.
When using Adobe Acrobat X Pro and creating a fillable form that uses digital signature, selecting
File / Save As / Reader Extended PDF /
Enable Additional Features
does not change the security for Signing to Not Allowed.
Is there a way I can use Standard so users can use digital signatures in Adobe Reader?

This sounds to me like a client-side problem whith adobe reader plugin in your browser. What is your reader version?
You can try the following to check if there is any content in the byte[]:

Could you inform us at least if you are in Mac or Win? Knowing the versions of your OS and Reader would also be useful. Do you get that gray screen as soon as you try to open Reader, or after it loads?

No, I haven't looked for an updated driver for my printer but I will give that a try. I was able to print using the "print as image" function but it really bogged my system down to pre-Pentium days. I'll let you know if the driver update works. Thanks for reaching out!

you can find many articles on how to repair mac disc permissions on Google. Just
try googling it. Else you can always ask applecare. They will guide you with
same.

Are you using Adobe Reader on a Mac or Windows computer?
There is no such thing as "plugins" for iOS/iPad/iPhone. Unlike desktop apps, Adobe Reader for iOS and any other iOS apps do not use plugins.
Would you provide more information about what you are trying to do by activating "plugins"?
